This Green Silk Shirt

I never can think of any good ways to wear this green silk shirt. It's a nice color, but the sleeves desperately need to be chopped. Here's what I came up with because I better wear it if it's taking up space in my closet:

shirt: thrifted
skirt: delia*s
cardigan: pacsun
shoes: target
necklace: great grandma collection
bow: made by mom for a theatre costume

So. How about that butterfly necklace. It had green in it so it had to go with this top, right? Just agree with me.

I'm supposed to be studying right now. Instead I'm blogging and watching Unsolved Mysteries. (Does anybody else love that show? I can never stop being entertained by the hilariously old reenactments.)

Also, for you cool people who inquired about my band nerdity, I play the trumpet. Here's me a couple years back with my school's mascot, Uga:

Happy Wednesday!

That green actually looks really nice against your hair color.

Also, +1 for band nerdity!
Actually + 1 million.

The butterfly necklace definitely needed to go with that top! And your marching band has a bulldog mascot?? That is so cute and cool!

The green is a great color with your hair-I think the color is more versatile than people would think! Love how it looks with the butterfly and skirt. Band pictures are wonderful!

I think it's really cool you play the trumpet! When I was little I played the flugelhorn for 2 years in a band, that was so awesome.
Love the silk blouse!

Hi! I just found your blog after following your looks on chictopia for the last few months. In my opinion you have the best style that I've seen on there so I was very pleased to find you had a blog too. I love your green shirt here and I think you styled it perfectly with such a lovely skirt. I adore your butterfly necklace too that is beautiful.

I have quite a few things to say about this post....

1. I have a shirt that looks quite similar (actually almost identical) to yours! I can never figure out how to wear it either, but you styled it up perfectly!
2. I should also be studying instead of blogging right now, haha.
3. I used to play the trumpet, as well! I wasn't in marching band, but I was in the concert and symphonic bands until I quit this year.

Two things. First: that green is a stunning color and I hope it has a prominent place in your wardrobe as you figure out how to alter it to your taste. Second: I was in and now coach band/colorguard at my old high school!

You are so cute in that band uniform!!
Also, that green shirt is great--I would wear it with high waisted jeans, too.

That shirt is beautiful, I'd love to see how it looks sans jacket to see why you say the sleeves need to be taken off. Love your pairing with the skirt though, the colors go great together.
