Tick Tock

I'm not 100% sure what this article of clothing is, but I've decided it's a dress.
dress: leslie fay sportsware; thrifted
shoes: charlotte russe
belt: thrifted

I picked this up because I thought the print was really neat. Watches and necklaces? Sounds good to me.

I'm unsure about what this dress really is because the slits go up to the crotch area. Perhaps it's a shirt for a tall person? I'm not so sure though. I just wore some cotton shorts underneath so I wouldn't flash anybody. It turned out to be quite the breezy summer outfit. And I didn't have to worry about being lady like!

My Vesty Shirt

Just a relaxing day filled with coffee + muffins, 50 cent thrifting, a library trip, and frozen yogurt.

top/vest: ecru; thrifted
skirt: forever 21
shoes: bongo; kmart
hat: forever 21

I should have taken a back shot today because the back of my top is striped. I really like the mixed prints on it. That's what drew it to me at the thrift store. Also, I'm pretty sure it's a vest.... but I'm going to wear it as a shirt.

shirt: gift
skirt: forever 21
shoes: target

Jeanie wore her dino t-shirt today with her black lace skirt from Forever 21.

Dinosaurs! They're so cute.

George was outside with us too! You can kind of see the striped back of my top in this picture.

I woke up at a normal time today and ate a tasty breakfast of a chocolate zucchini muffin and coffee. However I ended up falling asleep on the couch while reading a book right afterward. Tuesday is 50 cent day at our bargain thrift store so we took a trip there. I picked up some suede shorts for next fall and a cute pink dress. Matt and I even went out for frozen yogurt tonight.

It's always nice to actually do something once in a while, right?

Jamie's Cryin'

My uncle gave me this 1993 Van Halen concert t-shirt while I was up there visiting. It's quite large on me, but I took it as a challenge to try to make it work in an outfit.

shirt: almost vintage Van Halen concert t-shirt; from my uncle
shorts: old navy; thrifted
shoes: xhileration; target
earrings: charming charlie's

I now realize my face looks pretty scary in these pictures. The sun was bright and I was trying to keep my eyes open. Instead, it looks like I'm trying to steal your soul. Sorry.

I figured this post title was appropriate due to the fact that I look like I'm pouting in most of these pictures. For that, I am sorry. I'm usually very smiley! An interesting tidbit about this song: whenever it came on the radio when I was real little I would get all upset and, ironically, start crying. It didn't help that people would start to sing it at me because they thought it was so funny that it upset me. But I wasn't crying! Why were people saying I was? I was a funny child. Good times.

Aquarium Fun part 2

As promised, here's the second installment of our Shed Aquarium trip!

It was quite an ominous-looking day outside. My shorts weren't quite warm enough for the weather.

My favorite exhibit was "Jellies". It's a temporary exhibit so I'm glad I got to see it. You went down some stairs into a darkened hall where all kinds of jellyfish floated around in colorful tanks. They even had some serene mood music playing. I wouldn't want to touch a jellyfish, but I sure enjoyed looking at them.

Aquarium Fun part 1

On Wednesday my Aunt took us on a trip downtown to go to the Shed Aquarium with our cousins. Since I have many pictures to show you, I'm going to break this into two posts!

This guy was sitting so still. Just creeping on all of us.

I had to get a picture of this because it includes Jeanie and my aquarium rap names. I'm "Red Irish Lord" and Jeanie is "C-O Sole".

Sunglasses Galore!

If you didn't know, I have a large collection of sunglasses. The other day I came across this store that sells things for $5 and under. They had an awesome array of sunglasses and these are the three I picked up:

Some pink leopard print ones, heart shaped ones, and navy blue with yellow bow details.

These bows sold me on the navy pair.

I'm pretty happy about my new additions!

In other news, we were in downtown Chicago for dinner last night and took a picture on an apartment balcony with a cool night scene behind us. Too bad the picture is quite crappy because my camera is quite crappy.

We're going to the Shed Aquarium with our aunt and cousins tomorrow. Something to do is always nice!

I'm in quite a rage at this moment as a couple of my cousins have been being selfish bitches for a couple years and it's all coming to a head right now. It's frustrating when people always convince themselves that they're right when they're clearly not. It's even more frustrating when it's family. Any ideas on how to remedy this without apologizing? Ugh.

Jeanie's Graduation Party

Jeanie's graduation party was on Saturday and it was a big success! We had Mexican food and mini pies so we were making all the stuff for a couple days before the party. The tamales we made turned out so tasty too. I think those should be on the menu again some time now that we know how to make them.

That is a home made ice cream cake and some chocolate cream mini-pies.

Jeanie posing in front of her food.

The more I looked at my pictures from that day, the more I thought about how my camera is a piece of crap now. It refuses to take decent indoor pictures. I'm quite sad about it, but it's almost time to get a new one. One that actually focuses when I tell it to or lets me manually focus. That'd be nice.

Meanwhile, yesterday we went to my grandparents' house for dinner and whatnot. Somehow we got talking about old clothes and hats and stuff; my grandma brought out this vintage faux fur leopard print number. It was her mom's hat and coat - I don't think they go together and will only wear them that way as an epic costume. However, it's two awesome things and I'll try to find a way to wear them when it's cool outside.

I was parading around that house in a leopard coat, hat, and shoes though. So it was a hilarious time for all. My aunt said I could dress up as Carol Burnett for Halloween.

Puppy Power

Just a late-night dog picture post. These two were very sleepy:

Our dog, George - the English Bulldog.

My uncle's dog, Barney - the pug/jack russell mix.

They were both ready for bed as I was trying out some photo filter applications on my phone.
Goodnight!

The Radiator Hums

skirt: Forever 21
shoes: Target
sunglasses: Forever 21
belt: from Mom

This is Jeanie's outfit from Monday. She wore her Cursive band t-shirt with a tribal print skirt. I believe I suggested she wear that skirt with that particular t-shirt because I enjoy the color combination. She has a lot more geometric/tribal print skirts than I do. I tend toward florals and solids.

We didn't do outfit pictures yesterday. I rewore an outfit with different accessories.

We partook in tasty gyro platters on Monday too. I just thought I'd share their yumminess! These things come with an immense pile of meat.

I Know But I Don't Know

Jeanie let me borrow this thrifted dress for our trip:

It originally had long sleeves. I think it's much better without them!

dress: thrifted vintage
shoes: Forever 21
belt: thrifted
headband: Forever 21
ring: great grandma collection

I really enjoy the built in neck bow on this dress. And the color is really nice too. I guess it's just not exactly Jeanie's style, otherwise I don't think she'd let me take it so easily! I'll post her outfit tomorrow, don't worry!

All we did today was run a few errands and go to a $5 and under store. We picked up some cool shades, so be prepared to see those soon!

The Hillbilly Jungle

We've safely made it to Illinois for our annual summer relative visiting extravaganza. And also to have Jeanie's graduation party. It's quite a change in weather from Georgia to here. It's a good change though - the weather is perfect!

We're going to start with Jeanie's outfit today:
 top: Forever 21
cardigan: Delia*s
shorts: petite sophisticate - thrifted
tights: target kids' section
shoes: target
ring: great grandma collection

The fox print top is a new Forever 21 purchase and it's pretty fantastic. I like the mixed prints in her outfit today.

top: vintage Blue Oyster Cult
shorts: Old Navy - thrifted
cardigan: H&M
tights: Target kids' section
shoes: Target
hair bow: H&M
ring: Charming Charlie's
earrings: vintage 80's from Mom

My thinking face. Probably thinking about how I had no shoes to match this outfit so I wore my leopard print flats and a leopard bow in my hair to tie them in.

We had to go get some tights last night because it's a little chilly here. We headed to the kids' section to grab some cheap ones. It's good to be really short sometimes! I got a pair of navy, black, and cream-colored ones for 6 dollars.

I hope everyone's having a good Sunday! The Tony awards are on tonight, so I'll be watching those!
