Happy Easter from Spokane, WA guys! After a huge upset against Stanford, we're spending the rest of the weekend here. This will be my first Easter ever spent away from home, so it's kind of weird to be missing that delicious dinner. Here are a few spring-like pictures from the past couple days though:
I'm absolutely exhausted and we're taking a day trip into the mountains today. Let's hope I can nap on the bus and not be super crabby all day!
It's my new green shorts again! I loved how they looked with my bow tights and polka dot blazer. I just really liked this outfit. It all came together perfectly and it was comfy for a long day of class!
I hope you have a good weekend! I'm visiting Washington for the first time because I have basketball band duties there. It'll be a short trip, but at least I'll get to be there for a couple days or so. I'm sure I'll post pictures when I get back!
Happy Wednesday! I was so busy with school work over the weekend I hardly left the apartment! So here's another outfit I had saved up from spring break a couple weeks back. I had Mom's jean jacket on because I left any jacket that would match this at school. Also, these are indeed light pink tights and not my leg color. Matt seemed genuinely confused as to whether I was wearing tights or not this day. My leg color is really close though...
floral dress, teapot necklace: forever 21 | jean jacket: borrowed from Mom | tights: target kids' section | belt: thrifted | boots: city classified - traffic | gracie camera bag in butterscotch - jototes
Here's a better look at my camera bag! I love it.
This was a pretty spring-y outfit with the floral dress and jean jacket. It's currently pretty cold outside for Georgia, but I'll probably be wearing stuff like this again within a week. It's just about time to bring out all my floral skirts! I feel like I need to get just a little bit more wear out of my sweaters before it's too hot for them though!
Turns out I'm going to Spokane, WA this weekend for the NCAA women's basketball sweet 16 game. Hooray for trips for being in the basketball pep band! I'm pretty sure it'll be a short trip, but maybe getting out of town for a tiny bit will be nice. I sure hope so! I've never been to the pacific northwest so this will be new for me even if the trip is only a couple days long.
I hope you're having a good middle of the the week!
You guys, this video is so cool (and the song is great too, of course). It's a dark, silhouette-style animation that reminds me of the story of the Deathly Hollows scene in Harry Potter. Ghost Boy is eerie and a bit low-key. It would be a perfect listen in the middle of autumn.
I'm glad Toolshed media brought Sanders Bohlke to my attention! Hooray for new music discoveries!
You can download this song for free here. His new album is also available on Amazon.
Happy Monday! Here's an outfit from spring break. I bought these floral pants for $10 the day before so obviously I had to wear them immediately. It was pretty chilly this day so they kept me relatively warm on our trip into Atlanta. We had lunch with Dad, wandered around Ikea, and went to the fancy Lennox Mall. All in all it was a good day!
floral pants: h&m | pink cardigan, ruffled top: forever 21 | jacket: ashley by twenty six international - ross dress for less | leopard print flats: xhileration - target | gracie bag in butterscotch: jototes
You guys. These pants make me look like I have some semblance of a butt! It's exciting considering I'm pretty ass-less.
I only brought so many pairs of shoes home for the week and nothing except my leopard flats would be easy to walk around in all day. So this print mixing was out of necessity, but I'm glad it's kind of trendy to mix floral and leopard. (Also my shoes are looking ratty and that makes me sad. I've really gotten my money's worth out of them though.)
I don't have very many purses so I rarely use them in outfit posts. Therefore awkward posing times. Sorry. I really love this JoTotes camera bag though! It was my Christmas present and it's definitely getting a lot of use. I'm so glad to have a purse that keeps my camera safe and has plenty of room for regular purse stuff.
I felt like playing with makeup yesterday, so I threw together a look featuring the bright pink color, Noise, in my Urban Decay Vice Palette. I was trying to figure out a way to make that shade wearable! The last thing I wanted was to look like I had an eye infection and you run that risk when messing with bright pink eye shadow. Luckily, I think this worked!
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - Blackout (outer crease & lid) & Half Baked (tear duct, brow bone)
Urban Decay Vice Palette - Noise (main lid color) & Laced (crease) NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Milk (shadow base)
L'Oreal H.I.P Color Truth Cream Eyeliner - Black
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara - Extreme Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Zero
Wet n Wild Megalast Lipcolor - In The Flesh
Urban Decay Lip Love - Stung
I hope this inspired you to try out an eye shadow color you've been avoiding! It's definitely possible to make any bright eye shadow color work - especially if you pair it with neutrals and blend everything out.
(Did you guys like this makeup post? If it goes over well I'll make sure to add Look At My Face posts to my list of blog features!)
The word on the street is Google Reader is ending on July 1. Since most of you use it to follow blogs, I'm here to remind you to switch to something else! I personally use Bloglovin' and it's a great, easy-to-use site. I like the way I can organize the blogs I read into categories. They just started letting users make profiles that link to the blogs they write and read too.
So if you'd like to follow me on Bloglovin', click here or click on the cute picture of George!
Of course, there are tons of other feed aggregators to use too! You can also keep up with me on Twitter and/or Instagram.
This shirt is one of the more ridiculous button down shirts I've thrifted. It's pretty 70's-tastic with its elongated pointed collar and polyester goodness, but I love it mostly for the fun geometric print. Plus it mixes red and blue and I love those colors together!
Since it's such a bold shirt, I tend to let it shine on its own with other solid colors. I've worn it with red and blue pencil skirts before, but I figured I'd try layering it under a little black dress this time. Nobody gave me the side eye yesterday, so that's a win in my book.
dress: poof apparel - ross dress for less | shirt: vintage - thrifted | blue flats: xhileration - target | red hair bow: forever 21
Today is made approximately 67% better because I found a giant bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs hidden behind some stuff in my coffee & tea shelf. I assume I hid them from my boyfriend because he likes to scrounge for snacks. Or I hid them so I would find them this year as a wonderful surprise! Either way, they exist and they taste delicious.
Do you guys have a fun weekend planned? Mine will be full of reading for class, writing papers, and possibly sneaking in some video games. I'm living on the edge!
(I linked up this post to Coffee and Cardigans' Thrifter Thursday. Check it out!)
Just a quick outfit post today! I really liked how perfectly my thrifted striped sweater looked with this navy skirt, but these pictures didn't turn out the best. I blame the horribly bright sun and the epic windiness! Normally I would just wear the outfit another day and take pictures, but I'm trying to get as much use out of my tights and sweaters as I can before it gets hot!
How perfect is this sweater? It has a red anchor on it. It's pretty cool. Actually, Jeanie found it at the thrift store and thought it would be perfect for me. I almost didn't get it, but I'm glad I did. It's a petite size so it fits really nicely!
I'm looking a bit windblown in these. Sorry!
I hope you're having a good week so far! I can't believe it's Wednesday already!
As promised, there's a new Jeanie outfit post today! She paired a green t-shirt with a colorful floral skirt and her new wedge boots. She was towering over me in our pictures together! Jeanie is already a couple inches taller than me so if we're not both wearing heels there's quite a difference.
nail polish: o.p.i. - my vampire is buff & china glaze - graffiti glitter
I hope you're all having a nice Tuesday. I get to sleep in a little bit today because my first class got canceled. Unfortunately, I have a paper to work on this week and need to get started on that asap. Can grad school be over yet?
Happy belated Saint Patrick's Day! My family goes all-out for this holiday, so you can count on me wearing a very green, festive outfit. Luckily St. Patrick's Day tends to fall on my spring break so I get to be home and eat Mom's delicious Irish feast. I always look forward to that meal and the tasty leftovers I get to bring back to Athens.
It was really warm so I wore my new green scalloped shorts. I paired them with a teal cardigan which may be green overload but I don't care! I have quite a few shamrock accessories in my arsenal so those were included too. Hooray for themed outfits!
nail polish: china glaze - budding romance & cha cha cha
(I'll have Jeanie's St. Patrick's outfit up for you to see tomorrow!)
It was a good last day home for break, but now I'm back in Athens getting school stuff done. Time to get down to business!
