Leopard Print Crop Top with Navy Blue Shorts

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore at some point last week. I know I wore these navy shorts with another leopard print top on the blog last summer, but it was time to do it again. This time I paired them with my new leopard print crop top. Hooray for crop tops and high-waisted things! I'm just really loving the bare upper abdomen thing this summer. I never really showed any semblance of torso skin in previous years, so I figured I might as well do it while I can.

Remember the whole above-the-crotch, below the bellybutton peek of skin with the super low rise jeans 10ish years ago? Because everyone needed to have a super long torso and stub legs? Yeah. I couldn't do that. My torso is so short it just looked like I was weirdly proportioned if I tried that. (Not to mention shirts were all made extra long then because the pants were so low...so there was no hope to even recreate that look on myself.) I don't even know how to explain it, but it was weird. Also I was 13.

Anyway the moral of that story is I'm glad I can participate in this trend. I like it much better anyway as there's less worry for flub to hang out since it's upper stomach. It also is kind of retro-tastic which I'm always on board with.

shorts: forever 21 | top: papaya | sunglasses: dollar tree | flats: forever 21 | bracelet: great grandma collection | belt: thrifted

Here's a really luxurious pose for you guys. Hopefully you've realized by now that this is my usual face:

I got these sunglasses at Dollar Tree the other week. Seriously. You can get all kinds of cool sunglasses at dollar stores! Try it sometime!

Have a fantastic middle of the week!

Oh man, the Dollar Tree... haven't been there in sooo long! We'd used to stop whenever we needed movie theatre candy, ehehe. And now they have fancy sunglasses, too? Never would have guessed!

So I really love that top with your shorts. I love navy, and I love leopard, and the two together are just so pretty. I love that shot of your necklace, too. Should I use love one more time?

I'm also a huge fan of the high-waists-with-crop-tops-and-the-resulting-peek-of-skin thing! What was UP with those long tank tops? So glad that's over (it'll come back some day, I'm sure). You look great!

ok, well, i'm head over heals with the look! i LOVE the leopard crop top, and i hate leopard anything. so i'm both confused and pleased with that, haha. and you definitely look retro-tastic...now I wanna go in my closet and snip a shirt into a crop so i can copy this, haha!

Also, I'm so glad that i'm not the only one that wants to strangle their gps from time to time. this is why i'm not a fan of technology- a good old fashioned map never lies! and yes, i know i sound like i'm 70, haha!

The crop top + high waisted shorts combo looks SO cute on you! I couldn't do the sliver of skin wtih low rise bottoms thing either. Let's just all accept that high-waisted is better for everyone. Also, you totally rock the leopard print!

I'm alllll about the high-waisted shorts and crop top look. I've been lovin' it for a few years, now! It's such a simple, yet eye-catching outfit because it does have that retro vibe to it. Plus, it keeps you cool in the heat!
