Tie Dye Top, Leather Skirt, & Polka Dot Sunglasses

This faux leather skater skirt is definitely a new favorite! I've been looking for one I like since last fall and finally came across this one at Forever 21 last week. It fits perfectly, is lined, and even has pockets so it had to come home with me. The fact that it was under $20 made it even more wonderful too.

I wore this on a movie outing with Matt a week ago. I thought this tie dye top looked really cool with my leather skirt and I'm kind of in love with these new shoes too. There are a lot of new pieces in this outfit now that I look at it. You know how sometimes you go shopping and just want to throw all the new things on immediately? That's me right here.

Floral Romper, Lace Top, & Holographic Flats

I bought this romper from Target last year and I think it's so cute, but it was time to remix it in a new way. So I layered my relatively new black lace top underneath it! I thought the double prints worked and it covered me up on top a bit more since this romper is extremely leg-tastic.

Sometimes you have to come up with unique poses to show off various accessories.

This is the first time in a while that I've had a decent amount of outfits photographed ahead of time! I know my posts haven't been super exciting lately, but I'm very excited about a couple of the outfits I wore last week. They'll be posted soon! I hope you guys like them too!

Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday Tunes: Hannah Georgas - This Is Good

I first heard of Hannah Georgas on CBC Radio 3 while driving around and knew I needed to hear more! Her music has a relaxed pop-rock feel that is absolutely perfect for summer. The recorded version of this song is a bit more upbeat, but this live version is great too!

Happy Tuesday!

Ruffled Cat Print Top & A Chambray Skirt

Happy Monday and happy Memorial Day too! This cat print shirt is pretty awesome, am I right? Not only is it cat print, but it has ruffles and a cool back. (Thanks for giving this top to me Kate!) I paired it with a denim skirt I bought it a couple years back. It was a little small on me then, but it fits now! This outfit is just super summery to me and kind of reminds me of something Jenna from Smitten would wear. Possibly because of the back of this top.

Here's the most luxurious of all poses for you. Can't you feel the luxury radiating from it? I can.

I hope you're having a good 3-day weekend if you're lucky enough to have one. I'm heading out to Athens with Matt today to pick up some stuff we left there and possibly eat dinner. I assure you it'll be more fun than it sounds because that description sounds incredibly boring.

Happy Monday!

Look At My Face!: Blue & Silver

I haven't done a makeup post in a while, so here's the blue eyeshadow look I wore with my black polka dot dress a couple outfit posts back! I just smudged an Urban Decay eyeliner pencil over about half of the lid and blended it out with another lighter blue shade. I smudged the blue eyeshadow underneath my eye and put a little e.l.f. silver liquid liner in the inner corners. Then it needed a very thin line of black liquid eyeliner. My lips just have a nude-colored gloss on them. I'm not usually a gloss girl, but it was kind of necessary with such bold eyeshadow.

(Ah my face is scary big here!)

Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

Denim Polka Dot Skirt & Sparkly Pink Accessories

It's Friday! Here I styled up a t-shirt I got at a New Pornographers concert a few years back. This denim polka dot skirt is a recent find from the Target girls' clearance section. Sometimes I like to walk through the kids' department and see what they have since I can fit into a lot of it. This skirt happened to be only $6 so I couldn't pass it up! I've already worn it a few times before, but this is its first appearance on the blog.

t-shirt: american apparel - concert | skirt: cherokee - target | shoes: solanz - shoe carnival | bracelet: gift | earrings: forever 21 or claire's | floral hair clip: forever 21 | sunglasses: forever 21

Sometimes you just have to wear sparkly pink accessories. This bracelet is from homecoming freshman year of high school and the earrings are almost as old. Oh well! I still like them!

These are another new pair of shoes here too! I have about a billion shoes but Mom and I were browsing Shoe Carnival and I saw these for $15, tried them on, and now they're mine. They're so comfortable too! I'm always in the market for cute shoes I can actually walk to class in without killing my feet.

Anyway, have a great Friday!

A Matchy Navy Polka Dot Dress & Red Target Shoes Outfit

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wore this matchy blue and red outfit last Thursday, but I don't even remember what I did that day. It's kind of troublesome how the days run together during the summer. I think I ran errands or something.

Anyway, I've gotten a lot of use out of this dress. It's so easy to throw on without much thought and nice and light for summer. I decided on a very matchy matchy outfit because sometimes everything needs to coordinate. It makes me happy that matchy and mismatched outfits are on trend right now because I love both styles so much!

dress: forever 21 | shoes: cherokee - target | sunglasses: kohl's | belt: thrifted | bracelet: vintage

Check out these shoes I just bought from the Target kids' section!
Here's a tip for you if you wear up to a size 8. Look at the girls' shoes because the sizes are larger than their number equivalent in the womens' section. I wear a 7 - 7 1/2 and these red shoes are a size 6 and fit a little loose. Apparently girls' sizes are wider so that's probably why they fit loose on my narrow feet. But if you're browsing Target and wear an 8 or below don't forget to check out the kids' shoes because they're usually cheaper and they have a ton of cute styles. Jeanie even got a pair of wedges with a really decent sized heel for $17. (Why children are wearing 2-3 inch heels, I don't know. But the shoes work for Jeanie!)

I hope you're having a great middle of the week!

Tuesday Tunes: Of Montreal - Suffer For Fashion

I had a hard time picking one Of Montreal song to feature today, but I decided on Suffer For Fashion! It's upbeat and perfect for summer and party times. Plus I found an official music video for it on YouTube. This is one of the first songs I heard from Of Montreal and it actually wasn't my favorite the first listen around. It was something about the dissonant chords at some parts... but now I enjoy the cool futuristic sound in this song. After the second listen things changed and now I love this song!

I believe I've seen Of Montreal three times now? I think that's correct. They're such a fun live band. They really know how to put on a show. It's spectacular! Plus they're from Athens which is pretty awesome.

Happy Tuesday!

Sleeveless Polka Dot Dress Outfit

Here's an outfit I wore last Wednesday. Sorry about the two simple dress outfits in a row, but I've been in a dress mood lately. Throwing on a dress and shoes is just so easy. I'll be mixing it up again eventually though! At least this one is a completely black look while my last outfit post was very colorful! I have a hard time not wearing color though. I'll admit I threw on a teal cardigan before we went to dinner to keep my arms warm in the air conditioning.

polka dot dress: romwe | shoes: bongo - kmart | bracelet: jigsaw london | hair bow: forever 21 | earrings: forever 21 | belt: mom's

And the best pose of all to show off my spiked bracelet:

I'm really hoping to relax today after a busy weekend! Maybe I'll finish 1984 and start a new book. I live a life of excitement, guys. I'm sure you know that by now!

Happy Monday!

Braid-y Bunch Outfit

Something about the colors in this outfit shows off my ultimate pallor, but that's okay! I wore this to a graduation party last weekend. Dresses are the simplest way to look like you tried without having to put forth much effort. I've just been in a dress mood lately too, I guess! This one was a bargain during one of Modcloth's sales. I think I paid something around $16 for it. This is the first time I got to show off the cutout back detail!

Jeanie told me I looked like I was channeling The Brady Bunch. She also told me that's what I should title this blog post because I had braids in my hair. And it was so.

foliage tour dress: modcloth | shoes: xhileration - target | sunglasses: forever 21 | square hoop earrings: thrifted | triangle stud earrings: forever 21

Mom did my hair here and I love it. I requested something with braids and that's exactly what I got. I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing my hair up more and more often as the summer goes on since my hair has gotten so long. It's already getting stupid hot outside too.

Happy Friday everyone!
