2013 Outfits Recap: September - December

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Here's the final installment of my 2013 Outfits Recap. I included about 95% of my outfit posts from this year in these posts so it's a pretty comprehensive review of what I wore this year. I'm glad I'm done going through all my posts from the year while putting these posts together though. It gets exhausting doing this type of post! I'll have to figure out a way to dwindle down the recap for next year.

But anyway, here is my September - December recap. Check out January through April and May through August for more outfit goodness. Thank you for reading my blog and supporting this hobby of mine!

2013 Outfits Recap: May - August

It's time for part 2 of the 2013 outfit recap! (Click here for part 1.) These outfits were from the hot months of the year so maybe you'll get some inspiration for when spring rolls around. Sorry for the epic amount of outfits in the post though. I guess I wore a lot of clothes this year. Just click through to see the rest if you're interested!

2013 Outfits Recap: January - April

It's that time of the year where I recap some of my favorite outfit posts from the past 365 days! I was really happy with most of my outfits this year so I hope you enjoy seeing them again. It's so hard to pick just a few so I'm separating this into more than one post like my 2012 outfit recap. Just click on the corresponding number under the outfit to see the full post.

Blue Buffalo Plaid Flannel, Black A-line Skirt, & Knee High Boots

This outfit is actually from right before winter break so it's a couple weeks old, but I figured I should share it before the year is up. I'll have a few outfits from the end of December up in January, but that's okay! I think I wore this to one of my finals or something. I've really been liking these new boots because they're both comfy and knee length which differs from my many ankle boots. I feel like any length of boot in between the ankle and knee tends to make my legs look stumpier even though - for my height - I have long-ish legs.

Matt snapped these pictures for me so thank you to him!

I hope you guys are having a great day! Are you doing anything fun? I think I'm going to get some New Year's posts together and read a book. I live a life of excitement!

Moments from Christmas 2013

I thought it'd be nice to share a few pictures I took this holiday season. I always enjoy seeing other bloggers' behind-the-scenes life shots. I'll narrate some of these for you right now in case you're concerned about what you're seeing: For example, the romance books with altered covers are a masterpiece gag gift by Jeanie. The disembodied Santa head was a gag gift we found at a thrift store and it's gloriously creepy. If you haven't figured it out by now, my mom's side of the family has a gag gift exchange each year and it's one of my favorite parts of Christmas time. We hunt for those gifts all year!

But anyway, here are a few shots from the past couple weeks. I hope you guys are having a nice weekend and are gearing up for New Year's. I'll have to get some New Year's posts put together soon so be prepared for a favorite outfits recap or something to that extent.

I saved the best for last. It's delightfully strange.

Happy Sunday!

Striped Shirt, Red Wool Skirt, Silver Beaded Necklace, & Boston Terrier Flats

Happy Friday everyone! I really loved this outfit. It was kind of simple with the main pieces, but the details made it more unique. A striped t-shirt looks good with almost everything. I'm glad to have snatched up this long sleeved one from Forever 21 during a sale. I wore it with my trusty red wool skirt and added some fishnet-ish tights and my new Boston Terrier flats Jeanie bought me for Christmas. My Stella & Dot beaded necklace was a gift from Mom a couple years ago. It looks good with so many things but I tend to wear it during the colder months for whatever reason. So here it is, obviously out in the cold!

The snowy pictures I have from Illinois make me wish we got some snow here in Georgia. I love the way the sunlight reflects off the snow and bounces onto my face and the outfit. Plus it's nice and festive during this time of the year.

Did you guys have a nice week? I'm glad to be home to relax. I need to get some reading done so I can reach my Goodreads goal! Have a great Friday!

A Jeanie Holiday Outfit: Vintage Wool Coat, Green Peplum Dress, & Floral Tights

Merry Christmas!

Jeanie told me I should title this post "Jeanie Can't Make Normal Faces" but I picked the pictures with her making relatively normal faces except for one. This is the outfit she wore when I wore my leopard print coat and black lace dress. This vintage wool coat was one of our great grandma's too and now my sister gets to wear it! She said it's really warm. Plus it has that cool striped lining on the inside so you can tell it's fancy. Underneath the coat she wore a green peplum dress from Modcloth and some really cool floral tights. We found those shoes at Target for $6 the other day too. They were only left in her size so she had to get them!

And then we have the picture with her making a face. She said it's a model face so we'll go with that, but I personally think it's leaning more toward Grumpy Cat.

I do have random Christmas pictures to show you guys, but I wanted to show you another holiday look on actual Christmas. This outfit Jeanie is wearing could easily have been worn for New Year's Eve or another holiday party so I hope you've been inspired! (And ask your grandparents if they have anybody's old coats hanging around because look at what kinds of outfits you could come up with!)

I hope you're having a great holiday and a nice Wednesday!

A Holiday Outfit: Vintage Leopard Print Coat, Lace Dress, & Red Tights

Happy Monday everyone! I figured I'd post a holiday outfit since Christmas Eve is tomorrow and some of you may need some outfit inspiration (or maybe you just feel like seeing festive outfits around this time of the year, like me). I had a Christmas get-together to go to at my grandparents' so this was a real holiday outfit!

This may be my new favorite outfit and it's mostly due to this awesome vintage leopard print coat. Just wait. I'll be walking around in this thing when I'm 80 and I'll be the coolest ever. It's actually a family heirloom now, I suppose. It was one of my great grandma's and now I get to wear it! It's the best thing ever. For the blog debut of this coat, I paired it with a black lace dress and some bright red tights. The two prints here somehow work together and red is always a great color to incorporate into a holiday look.

I hope you enjoy these snowy pictures!

Do you have any fun holiday plans? I have two more days of Christmas parties starting tomorrow. I'm planning on stuffing my face with tasty foods and playing Cards Against Humanity with my cousins (such a holiday-appropriate game).

Have a fantastic Monday and rest of your week!

A Jeanie Outfit: Flannel Shirt, Navy Skater Skirt, Mustard Scarf, & Dark Red Tights

Happy Saturday!
Here's an outfit Jeanie wore the other day. After I asked her where all the pieces were from I remembered that I bought her the flannel shirt and mustard yellow scarf for Christmas last year. So hooray for presents that are actually being used! I really liked how all the colors in this outfit looked together. The yellow scarf picks up the yellow in the shirt really nicely and those tights are a great dark red. Plus she looks all nice and cozy in the snow! In real life we were cold taking these pictures which is probably evident in the first picture because she's hiding her hands inside her shirt. (And I definitely didn't even realize that until I had these pictures all resized and everything. Oh well!)

Yay Jeanie! I'm glad she humors me by letting me take her outfit pictures and having her take mine while we're up here visiting.

Have a great weekend!
