Outfit: Blue Striped Shift Dress, Chunky Knit Cardigan, and Olive Green Tights

This was an incredibly comfortable outfit. Wearing this striped cotton dress without a belt reminds me of wearing a nightgown. The chunky knit cardigan was a Christmas present from Jeanie a couple years ago but for whatever reason I don't think it's been on the blog. It's super warm. It was almost too warm for the weather this day! This dress and cardgan combined to create ultimate comfort while looking like a person who got out of their pajamas that day.

This is one of those cheap shift dresses I picked up in the kids' section at Walmart. It still blows my mind that I can find things like this in the kids' department. Despite being 4'11", I am somewhat adult-ish in shape. They make these clothes in size 12/14 though! I would assume if my child was my size I wouldn't have them shopping in the kids' department, but at least I can get some deals because the sizes go up that high. The only issue I have with buying in the kids' section is sometimes the shoulders are a bit narrow. Anything with a distinguished area for the bust is obviously not going to work either. Simple shaped clothes like this dress are definitely worth trying out if you're on the shorter side though!

Have you, as a fully-grown adult, ever worn anything from the kids' department? I'm not ashamed!

How has your week been? I've been applying to jobs all week! I did have some happy news that I won a gift card from Modcloth for their Festive Fashions Contest for my outfit with the red plaid mock neck dress. That was a really nice surprise! I'll have to pick out something pretty. Have any suggestions? I already bought two new dresses for holiday festivities but can you really have too many pretty dresses? (Probably.)

Anyway, have a very happy end of your week and a good weekend!

I've bought clothes from the kids section so many times - no shame! I often find that things like T-shirts and loose dresses always fit really well when bought in their biggest size. And the best bit is they're half the price!

I love this cardigan,it looks comfortable and like it'd go with everything. The dress is a great find. I buy things from the kids department all the time and will continue to do so for as long as I can. It really gives you so many more options! I am about 5'4 and most of the time the length is ok. Congrats on wining Modcloth, that is so so exciting.

Yaaay, congrats on the Gift card, I'm so jelly!
I often wear clothes from the kid's department cause I'm 165cm and 44kilos :D I once thrifted a jacket meant for a kid that was too big even for me...What kind of a fat kid wore that...don't know!
Love this dress and the navy cardigan looks so warm!

Ooo congrats on winning the giftcard! That's amazing- I'd have such a hard time choosing something. I'd want all the dresses- ALL of them! And ugh, isnt applying for jobs just the worst? I'm trying to apply for writing jobs and so far I've got nothing but rejections. It makes me reach for the comfort food everytime haha. We should be each others support system :)

Also- I now need to get olive tights. Awesome color!
