Outfit: Cat Print Tank Top and a Leopard Print Skater Skirt

Ruffled Cat Print Tank Top Leopard Print Skater Skirt Bronze Fisherman Sandals

I don't wear mixed prints as much as I used to so I was pretty excited when I paired these pieces together the other day. Something about the almost geometric cat print paired with the neutral leopard print worked very well. I was also a fan of all the neutrals and bronzey goodness going on in this look. Very summery! Plus my lipstick pretty much matched the color of my sandals. (BTW it's Zebra Ultra Metallic Lip by Colourpop and is still in stock as this is being published.)

It can be hard to mix up your outfits when it's hot outside so trying out different print combinations is a good way to get different looks out of your summer pieces. Plus makeup. You can always just try out a bold lip color or some ultra colorful eye shadow to change things up too. I know lighter makeup is often the thing for summer, but wearing lipstick is much lighter than wearing an extra clothing layer, after all. What do you do to change things up when it's scorching outside?

So how has your weekend been going? I already bought more lipstick I don't need and watched half of the new season of Degrassi on Netflix. They brought back old characters for a reunion episode and it was wonderful because those were the characters that were my age. We're also starting to watch Stranger Things and so far so good. It's nice to catch up on TV and actually relax a little. But tell me about your weekend. Anything fun going on?

Outfit: Strapless Ruffled Polka Dot Romper with Red Sneakers

Summer Outfit Blue Strapless Polka Dot Ruffled Romper Red Sneakers

Happy Saturday to you! You know I enjoy a good thrift find and I finally got out to Goodwill a couple weekends ago to sift through their treasures. This romper was one of my finds. It was a little confusing to the cashier since she wasn't sure whether to charge it as shorts or a dress. (Spoiler: It ended up being charged as shorts.) Did I need another romper? Probably not, but I figured it'd be nice for these scorching, humid days we've been having here in Georgia. Plus the ruffles on it conveniently mean I can wear it without a strapless bra and nobody can see my nips. Romper win!

I wore this on a walk with Riker where I also played Pokemon Go - because I'm an adult. Note the comfy walking shoes I got from Rue 21 - which I hadn't been in in many many years until recently. They were definitely a good choice for our walk, which turned out to be super long. Riker almost didn't make it home because the sun came out half way through our walk and made it feel 20 degrees hotter than when we left. I sadly had to change out of this when I got back home because I was drenched in sweat. (Attractive.)

Do you like my giant bun going on here? I've really been enjoying wearing my hair like this lately. It's long enough again to quickly and easily put it up with one of those bun donut things, and it keeps my hair off my neck when it's scorching outside.

So how was your week? Have any good plans for the rest of the weekend? I think I'm going to sit on my butt on my computer and/or phone as much as possible and maybe do a Pokewalk once or twice. I do have to say, that game has given me a great incentive to get out and walk around even though outside feels like walking on a somehow soggy sun. Have you been playing? I'm a level 10 - so... that's pretty much my biggest accomplishment this summer so far.

Have a great rest of your week! Happy Saturday!

Work Outfit: Sky Blue Lace Dress, Pink Cardigan, and Holographic Flats

Sky Blue Lace Fit and Flare Dress Hot Pink Cropped Cardigan Holographic Flats

I'm so in love with this little pink cropped cardigan I ordered off of Amazon. It's the absolute perfect length on my short torso and a nice, soft, stretchy knit. From what I read, it's the same cardigan as the Modcloth Dream of the Crop cardigan, except it's available in more colors on Amazon (and cheaper.) I may even pick up some more colors in the near future! I just can't believe I have tons of cardigans and had no pink one until now.

I wore it to work for it's first day out, paired with my light blue lace dress from Forever 21 clearance, a black and gold flower necklace, and my holographic peep toe flats. I've been wearing the shoes I can't really walk long distances in now that I'm driving to work again. These flats are comfortable enough, but for some reason the top part rubs the top of one of my toes on one foot so they're not good for distance. It's unfortunate because they're pretty cool!

Did you all have a good weekend? I spent a decent amount of my free time playing games on a Gameboy Advance emulator on my phone. It's pretty amazing. Riker, Matt and I went to a dog park, we played some Pokemon Go, and ate a lot of out food. Tell me about your weekend so I can live vicariously through you! Have you been playing Pokemon Go too?

Happy Tuessday!

Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Blouse and Light Green Scalloped Shorts

Flamingo Print Bow Blouse Green Scalloped Shorts Clear Gold Spiked Sandals

It's time for a super summery outfit here on the blog so here's this one! I've actually worn this flamingo print top from Shein a couple different ways but hadn't photographed it yet. This may be my favorite way I've worn it, paired with my light green scalloped shorts from Forever 21 and a pair of clear, studded sandals from Boohoo. It looks pretty cool with my lime green cardigan too, though...

This top has such a cute print and was incredibly inexpensive but you can definitely tell it's cheaply made. The thing that bothers me most is the darts on the bust aren't in the right place. It's fine for what it is though. I've had some nice pieces from those cheapy online shops like Shein, but you always have the possibility that something will be off in the clothes you buy from them. I've been covering the weirdly placed darts with cardigans most time I wear this, but this time it was just too hot for that. It's not too noticeable, I hope!

I do love a good novelty print. How would you style this top? I feel like it needs to be worn at the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas next time I'm there!

Also, I apologize for my lack of posts this week. Things are hectic with my commute and life in general. I'm super excited it's the weekend though and I can finally read some of your blogs, hopefully finish up the second Outlander book, and finish the new season of Orange is the New Black. What have you been reading/watching lately? I'm always open to recommendations even if it takes me ten billion years to finish anything!

Have a happy happy weekend!

Outfit: Denim Button Down Skirt, Red Striped Shirt, and Silver Sandals

Denim Button Down A Line Skirt Striped V-Neck Tee Silver Sandals

One of my favorite color combinations to wear in the summer is red, white and blue - which is especially perfect around Independence Day! I wore this simple outfit over the weekend to a trip to a dog park, to the mall, and to see the new Legend of Tarzan movie (which I thoroughly enjoyed.)

I've been feeling wearing denim much more often, especially when paired with a good striped shirt. Sometimes it's nice to keep things simple and classic. I still have some fun going on with the silver shoes and red sunglasses, but a striped shirt and denim pairing is a time-honored look. And for a reason! It looks good and never goes out of style. When wearing classic combinations, it's just good to keep your denim pieces somewhat up to date to keep from looking frumpy or out of style.

This skirt was an ASOS find late last year and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. It may be in my bag to take on our trip to Europe later this year because it goes with everything and is useful in all types of weather. You can see how I wore it in the winter with a tacky Christmas sweater

So how has your week been? I'm pretty excited tomorrow is already Friday. I'm ready for the weekend again! I plan on watching a good amount of TV, reading, and visiting with one of my old friends. It should be good, but let me live vicariously through your adventures! I can't wait to catch up with all of your blogs. Things have been super hectic but they should calm down a bit until we finally find a new place to live. Then it'll be crazy again. Life.

Anyway, I hope you have a great end of your week and fun weekend!

Remix: Light Blue Denim Pinafore

This little light blue denim pinafore dress from Forever 21 has been in my wardrobe since 2011 when overalls and pinafores weren't all that popular. Now I see overalls all over the place, although I think they're still gaining momentum. I did buy this in the height of the "chambray" craze though. It's a nice, breezy material for the many warm weather months we have here in Georgia. Plus I think the little leafy print on it makes it just a little bit different from other pinafores I've seen.

As you can see, I pretty much have only worn it when it's hot outside, but I think I've done a decent job of styling it a bunch of different ways. One of my favorites is number 1, where I tucked in the top part to make it a denim skirt. I enjoy it best when I have some pattern mixing going on too, so number 2 is another personal favorite. It's just as easy to pair this type of piece with a simple black tank top though!

What do you think? Are you a fan of overalls or pinafores? They're more versatile than you'd think!

P.S. Have a great holiday weekend to all my US readers!
