Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Orange Red Floral Skirt with Brown Wedge Sandals, a Yellow Shirt and Silvery Hair

I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!

Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt.

I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eating tapas, and hitting up a club. I already want to go back again even though I've been multiple times. It's just a fun place!

Now we're heading into the just-over-4-months mark until the wedding (how??) and have some final things to decide on, including planning some sort of honeymoon for the week after. I may need to brush up the wedding website a little bit, we need to pick food, decide on what to say/music to play for the ceremony, get my dress altered, etc. etc. So much to do!

Anyway, I hope you're all doing well and had a nice spring, since we're already heading into summertime! Happy Sunday!

Outfit: Elephant Print Bell Sleeved Dress with Raspberry Red Heels

Pink Hair, Boohoo Elephant Print Dress and Colorful Heels with a Black Lab Mix

Happy Wednesday to you! These pictures are from a little while back and were taken right after I had my hair done so it was freshly pink and delightful. Of course now it's purple and delightful, so that's good too.

This elephant print bell sleeved dress from Boohoo is one of my favorites because it's so incredibly comfortable. It isn't tight anywhere so it's great for days when I'm planning on having a food baby. Or just days when I don't want to think about what to wear. The black and white print makes it versatile and the awesomely large bell sleeves are really on trend.

I've worn this dress with tons of different shoes and tights, but this time I styled it with a new pair of raspberry red heels I got on clearance at Target. (Woohoo for Target clearance!) I'm pretty sure my hair makes this outfit though and my dog Riker is a pretty great addition too, if I do say so.

So how has your week been? No real news for me since my last post. Just work. Working this holiday weekend and waiting for our vacation in Las Vegas to get here.

I hope you have  a fun week ahead, as usual feel free to follow along on Instagram to see what's up in my day-to-day life!

Outfit: I'm Back in Florals!

Black Floral Target Spaghetti Strap Dress with Pink Hair

Guess who's back? Back again? Jamie's back. Tell a friend.
Now you have that song stuck in your head. You're welcome. And also if you're reading this, thank you for sticking around or at least having my blog still in your blog feeder!

It's been a while but I'm certainly ready to get back into blogging mode now that I'm all moved into a new apartment and am mostly unpacked and settled. I no longer have to drive 3 hours a day but work is keeping me very busy right now so I haven't quite reclaimed my normal amount of free time.

Pink, Black and Green Floral Molded Cup Spaghetti Strap Dress and Black Chunky Sandals
dress: xhileration - target | shoes: merona - target | earrings: old hand-me-downs

Now moving on to some outfit talk!
Everything I'm wearing here except the earrings is relatively new. My shoes were a February Target sale buy and I've been wearing them the most out of any of my shoes lately. (Hooray for comfy shoes that go with everything!) The black floral dress was an impulse buy during my last Target trip. I saw the molded cups and my first thought was, a dress for 100 degree weather so I don't have to wear a bra! So I bought it. It's also plenty long enough on me to wear to work with a cardigan, so that's a plus. Not that I need to buy any more dresses probably ever...

I no joke have all my dresses filling almost the entirety of one of our closets. I have a problem and I admit it but I want them allllll! The problem is most of them need to be ironed after being in storage for 9 months and ironing is the worst. Someone else please complain about ironing with me. Or maybe I'm just really bad at it so that's why I don't like it. That's probably the case.

Light Pink Hair, Bronze Lipstick, Black Floral Thin Strap Dress

Anyway - life has just been going the past month. Some things that have happened:
  • Riker, our puppy, turned 2 and is finally getting used to the new apartment. All he wants is to constantly be at the apartment complex's dog park.
  • I bought some plants/seeds for my porch garden and I've been enjoying taking care of that.
  • The wedding countdown has reached the less than 6 months mark which is both exciting and scary. Scary because everything for the wedding (mostly the ceremony) isn't planned yet and neither is any semblance of the honeymoon.
  • We're also heading to Vegas in a few weeks for bachelor/bachelorette friend/family/everyone fun.

So there's a good amount of excitement ahead and I'm looking forward to that. We're both just so happy to have our own space again. Especially now that we finally got internet after living in our apartment for 3 weeks. Yeah, that was a treat.

I hope you've all been great. I think I keep up with most of my blog friends on Instagram, so if you're at all interested, you can keep up with me there too. Out of all the online spaces, I keep that one the most up-to-date lately. There's just not enough time in the day!!

Happy Monday!

Outfit: Turquoise Leopard Turtleneck Dress and Black Block Heel Sandals

Mock Neck Teal Leopard Print Dress, Tassel Necklace, and Black Target Sandals

Long time, no blog! Did I say that last time? Well I finally have a new outfit to show you! I'm always trying, but sometimes failing, to fit blogging into my ridiculous schedule. Luckily there are some changes on the horizon that may make it easier to get back into blogging!

About this outfit: I picked up this super cool teal leopard mock turtleneck dress in the clearance racks at Forever 21. You really never know what you'll find in there. There was a more neutral-colored version too, but I went with a weird leopard color since I already have quite a few "normal" leopard print dresses. (Can you really ever have too many leopard dresses?)

My silver tassel necklace was a Christmas gift from my Mom because I desperately needed some statement necklaces for some of the plainer dresses I've been wearing to work. Sometimes I just want to throw on a t-shirt dress - with a cool necklace - and call it a day. It's rough getting up before the sun is up!

My black sandals are new from Target and you can still get them here. I'm loving the little block heels lately, but enjoy that shoes are quite as clunky as they were last time block heels were in style. I think it's something about the toe area being more narrow than square? I don't know but I like it!

I hope you've all been doing well. My news is that I think we finally found a new place to live! I don't want to jinx it, but if all goes well I'll be living back near work again and regaining almost 3 hours of my day that I currently spend commuting. Not to mention the whole having my own space again thing and being able to watch whatever I want on TV and having access to my whole wardrobe. Definitely looking forward to that!

In other news, how about Modcloth being bought by a Walmart subsidiary? I know it's kind of old news now but pretty disappointing. Just kind of sad to see a successful and unique female-owned business bought up. Interested to see how they change - though I've noticed a lot of branding changes the past few months prior to this announcement, did you?

Anyway, let me know what's up with your life and feel free to follow along on Instagram so you can see what's up with me on a daily basis! Happy Monday!

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Green Corduroy Button Down Skirt, Leopard Print T-shirt, Black Tights, Black Lace Up Boots

Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible. They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon!

The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I bought at Target years ago, but they're on storage and slightly different than these ones so... I have a shoe problem. I have no real excuse.

So what's new with you? I've been doing the same old same lately. Still looking for a place to live closer to work and planning our wedding - which is 8 months from today! Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy this engaged time but honestly I don't have time to enjoy it with my commuting, working, booking wedding vendors, taking care of our hyper dog when I'm home, etc. Life is a little crazy right now. I'm hoping once we find a new place to live things will be a little better. Like, I may have time to blog more than once every couple weeks or read a book without falling asleep in 30 seconds.

But really that's all that's going on with me. Once I publish this post I'm hopping right onto my Bloglovin' feed to read some of your blogs, which I really miss. I'm having a rare moment of free time right now so I'm going to take advantage of it!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Outfit: Dinosaur Print T-shirt, Black Ruffled Pinafore, and Silver Platforms

Ruffled Pinafore Dress from H&M, Dinosaur Print T-shirt, and Silver Chunky Heels

Long time no blog but I have a fun outfit to share with you today. Both the dinosaur print t-shirt and ruffled pinafore here are new purchases and I couldn't wait to wear them together. The two pieces should be pretty versatile and remixable too though. It was too hard to resist this dinosaur print t-shirt last time I was wandering through Forever 21. It's so perfect and just subtle enough to wear in a variety of situations. You might not even notice they're dinosaurs until you get up close!

The pinafore dress was an H&M clearance find. Just $10! Can't beat that. I'll be able to wear it year round with various tops underneath - and probably on its own too. The only negative thing is that it seems to wrinkle super easily. Oh well!

My silver platform heels were the final touch to this outfit. They feel super Spice Girls-tastic to me and I'm definitely on board with that. They're so delightfully shiny too. I just need to figure out more outfits to pair them with!

I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend and have a nice week to look forward to. I'm sure my week will be more of the same old same. Driving ten thousand years to work and back, hanging out with our dog, etc. As for life, wedding planning is chugging along and I'm looking forward to booking a trip to Las Vegas for this summer. But other than that, nothing particularly thrilling is going on for me so let me know what you're up to!

Have a fantastic Sunday!

Outfit: Metallic Leopard Print Skirt, Faux Choker Top, and Red Wedges

Metallic Leopard Print Skirt with Opaque Black Tights, Red Wedge Heels, and a Faux Choker Top

Just in time for Valentine's Day, here's a very Valentine-ish outfit to share with you! Because leopard print and red is automatically a Valentine's Day look in my mind. I actually wore this at Matt and my engagement party earlier this month so it's fitting to share it now. I had no idea what to wear that day and just threw this together a couple hours before. Most of it is new from a little bit of a shopping spree I had while looking for outfits for our engagement pictures.

This choker top from H&M is pretty trendy right now but I picked it up because it's both trendy and would match with a lot of different bottoms. The metallic leopard skirt was originally meant to be for our engagement pictures but I decided to go with another outfit, so this was its debut instead. Can you really ever have too many leopard print skirts? I say no. And my bright red wedges were a clearance find from over the summer. All a grand combination for a Valentine look!

I always use holidays as an excuse to wear themed outfits. I hope this look gives you a little outfit inspiration for tomorrow if you don't know what you're wearing. If not, I have another post with 15 Valentine's Day outfit ideas from last year that you can check out!

Do you have any good plans for tomorrow? Even if those plans are Netflix and chocolate, I think those are good plans. I'll just be cooking dinner with Matt and hopefully enjoying a nice beer. Should be a nice break in routine for what would otherwise be a normal boring Tuesday.

I hope you have a fantastic rest of your week and happy Valentine's Day!

Outfit: Embroidered Unicorn Shirt, Gray Pleated Skirt, and Silver Shoes

Embroidered F21 Unicorn Shirt, Pleated Jersey Knit Skirt, Silver Shoes, and Purple Socks

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm here with a new outfit to hopefully brighten the end of your week since there's a unicorn on my shirt. Yes, I'm a grown adult with a unicorn shirt but nobody has to know I'm a grown adult, right? I was out shopping for a possible engagement picture outfit and came across this embroidered unicorn shirt and couldn't let it go. Actually my sister convinced me I needed it and then I found a gray pleated skirt that exactly matched the shirt's gray ringed collar and sleeves. So it was fate that I had to buy both and wear them together.

It was a weirdly warm January day when I wore this, so I styled this outfit without tights and instead went with some purple socks (to play off the unicorn, of course) and a pair of silver oxfords. It was all very comfy and a little spring-y, which is good in my book because I'm actually kind of ready for spring weather. Probably the fact that most of my winter clothes are in storage still...

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, how about you? Matt and I are having an engagement party and it'll be fun to see a bunch of people we rarely get to see. We also already got our engagement pictures back that we took last weekend! You can see some on Instagram if you head over there. Let me know what you think and have a fantastic rest of your week!

Thanks for stopping by!

2016 Outfits Recap: Favorites from July through December

It's time to finish up my 2016 outfit recap with some of my favorite from the last half of last year! Looking at these, I realize I was wearing a crap load of skater skirts, and for the repetition, I apologize. My wardrobe is largely in storage and the separates are a way to keep from wearing the same thing over and over, which is why you saw fewer dresses toward the end of last year. You'll also see my transition from bright red hair to light blonde in these photos. As always, click the numbers underneath the pictures to see the full post!

Thirteen | Fourteen | Fifteen

The first half of 2016 was much better - on the whole - than the second half. Especially with regard to the blog. I apologize if I've bored you a little with my slow-down in posts and similar silhouettes, but that's what I've been wearing lately and my free time is at an all-time low. If you read my first half of 2016 recap post, you read about the whole apartment debacle so that really changed the last half of the year for us. I now commute 3+ hours a day because Atlanta traffic is awful and we haven't found a decently-priced apartment with the things we need that's not in a rough area. They get snatched up quickly.

The best part of last year was definitely our trip to Europe though! We were gone half of October and during my birthday. We got engaged over there in Edinburgh too, which was the most exciting thing to happen in the year, of course. I'm so excited to get married to Matt this year!

So the moral of this story is 2017 better be incredible compared to last year. I'm sure life will get much better when I'm not spending 3+ hours a day of my non-working, non-sleeping time in a car and Matt and I have a place of our own again. And when the wedding vendors are all picked out... There's just a lot going on. I'm looking forward to things being good again.

Anyway, I hope you're having a great start to your week! Happy Tuesday!

2016 Outfits Recap: Favorites from January through June

Happy Sunday to you and welcome to part one of my 2016 outfit recap! I enjoy doing these recap posts each year because I get to look back on what I wore and see how things have changed throughout the year. I hope enjoy or at least don't mind taking a look back at some of my favorite things I've worn in the past year! As always, as you scroll through you can see the full post by clicking on the number underneath.

Nineteen | Twenty | Twenty-one

Honestly, looking back, I'm just amazed at the amount of outfits I was able to post last year and it's hard remembering how good things were in the first half of 2016. We were in our own place with our dog and work was going well for both of us. In May, we'd found a bigger and cheaper place to live and were planning on moving down the street to enjoy that. Unfortunately, the owners of the place screwed us the day before we were supposed to move in and we were suddenly out of a place to live. (You can read all about it in this post.) We moved temporarily back out to the suburbs into our parents' houses, stuffing all our things into a huge storage unit and dragging the dog back to live in between houses too. So during these pictures, life was going well. Memories...

Also since most of my wardrobe is in the storage unit, I miss a lot of these clothes! Oh well.
So, let me know: which one is your favorite outfit post from 2016?

Outfit: Blue Vintage Dress, Patterned Tights, and a Leather Jacket

Ice Blonde Hair, Faux Leather Coat, Blue Shift Dress, and Wedge Boots

This is what I look like in the wind when it's way too cold to be outside taking outfit pictures on Christmas. You may notice the uncharacteristic snow in these pictures too. That's because I was up in Illinois for the holidays and, although we were supposed to get snow in Georgia a couple weeks back, my neighborhood didn't get much more than a dusting. Fine by me! But snow does make for some nice automatic light reflectors when taking pictures!

This vintage cobalt blue dress is a new addition to my collection, given to me by a friend of the family. I'm always happy to accept cool vintage clothes, especially when they're already tailored for someone short. This ultra blue dress was worn for Christmas dinner and the shift shape left plenty of room for me to gorge myself on tasty foods.

For its debut, I styled it with a new faux leather jacket (since my other one was starting to get worn out after many years of trusty use) and a pair of tights with a fishnet-y pattern up the side. I actually got my fringe earrings at Walmart of all places and the wedge boots are a well-worn pair from Target.

It feels like forever since I've posted - or since I've had a regular posting schedule. Unfortunately I've had to really slow down on most of my hobbies with the way life is right now. I drive about 3 hours a day commuting since we're still in between places and most other time is spent taking care of our dog. I'm trying to plan our wedding too, and November is sneaking closer and closer. I won't lie and say life is great but I'm hoping each month gets steadily better leading up to the wedding and all that comes after that.

How's your life been? Someday I'll be able to have leisure time and catch up on your blogs maybe...
Anyway, happy Wednesday!
