Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Top, and Heart Tights

Green Corduroy H&M Skirt, Heart Tights, Leopard Tee, Leather Jacket

If you're looking at these pictures and going, "hey those look almost a year old!" then you would be correct! For whatever reason this outfit from December never ended up on the blog (but a similar look did back in March.) My hair is almost this color again right now though! Full circle. I wanted it very similar to this color and length for my wedding in November so I'm glad.

I wish it was cold enough outside to wear tights, corduroy, and my leather jacket like it was in these pictures, but instead it's humid and rainy here in Georgia since it's still August. And so it shall remain until November. I really do like this combination of the dark green skirt with leopard print and tiny, almost-dots heart print. What do you think?

These pictures were taken in Illinois while cleaning out my Great Grandma's house. My sister and I were hanging around while our dad and grandpa were picking up some stuff.

Unfortunately I don't have anything particularly interesting to tell you today. I'm staring at a very busy month of September ahead of me! Dragon Con is this weekend too so it'll be a busy weekend of geek fun. I'll be re-wearing a bunch of my costumes since the months we'd usually dedicate to costuming have been dedicated to wedding stuff. So I apologize in advance for no new outfits, but at least my Spider-Gwen will have real blonde hair and not a wig this year!

I hope you have a great Labor Day Weekend or regular weekend and happy Wednesday!

Outfit: Ruffled Blouse, Denim A-Line Skirt, and Red Pom Pom Flats

Ruffled Lace Up White Blouse with a Denim Button Down Skirt and Red Pom Pom Flats

It's beginning to feel like the wheel of hair colors around here. By the time I get a chance to take new outfit photos, my hair has changed color from the last post! Even these pictures from last month are outdated as far as my hair goes! Right this moment it's a shade of gray since it's about time to start phasing out the pink in time for the wedding (and I'd like it blonde for a couple Dragon Con costumes.) I've really enjoyed all the different colors over the past few months though.

Now about the outfit: The red pom pom flats are clearly the star of the show here. I ordered them online at Forever 21 during a BOGO clearance sale since I couldn't resist the colorful pom poms. They worked perfectly with a go-to denim button down skirt and a white blouse. Those simple pieces let the shoes steal the spotlight in a good way. They also kept the denim skirt/white blouse combo from looking too country - a style that's just not my thing.

So did you get a chance to see the eclipse on Monday? I took the day off and headed a couple hours north of home to catch it in the path of totality. It was amazing! Definitely worth the trip. Those couple minutes of darkness were truly the highlight of the experience even though looking through the glasses was neat the rest of the time. Nothing compared to looking right at the sun with the moon completely blocking it. The light was super eerie and cool too. Just an overall awesome experience!

Anyway - let me know what's up in your lives and be sure to follow along on Instagram to keep up with me in between blog posts!

Review: Modern Map Art Athens Print

Dinosaur Target Cookie Jar on a Yellow Cabinet

Soon after I moved into my new apartment, Jennifer from Modern Map Art reached out to me about reviewing one of their super cool, printed-in-the-USA map prints. Particularly the Athens, GA print, which is a perfect addition to my Atlanta apartment when I'm missing my college town. I immediately was drawn to their black and white, minimalist map designs because they pair perfectly with just about any home decor.

If you enjoy map prints, you should definitely check out Modern Map Art. It seems like they have just about every city you could think of! I was really impressed with how well they shipped the print in a tough cardboard tube and the shipping time was very speedy as well (and free for U.S. customers), considering they create the prints to-order. I honestly think I need to get an Atlanta one soon to pair with my Athens print!

These would make awesome gifts for a wedding or birthday too. I put mine in a cheapo poster frame I bought on Amazon but you could definitely put it in a nice wooden frame.

These pictures show one of my favorite corners of my apartment - my coffee and tea corner! It's even better now that my map print is part of it! The yellow cabinet was a wedding shower gift from my grandparents and the dino cookie jar was from my cousin. And you can see my mess of coffee mugs. (Can you ever have too many coffee mugs?)

Anyway, I'm happy to share the Modern Map Art website with you and thank you to Modern Map Art for the cute addition to my apartment!

I hope you're all having a great week so far! Feel free to follow along on Instagram this week to see my California adventure!

Outfit: Black Denim Zip Up Skirt with Quirky Pink T-shirt

Pink Coachella H&M Collaboration T-shirt with a Denim Zip Down Skirt and Black Peeptoe Sandals
top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo

Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.

I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! Sorry you can't really see it in the full body picture, but you can see it in a picture Matt took of me in the hotel room.

So how have all of you been? Life's been a little bit of a blur for me lately and I'm sure it'll continue that way until the end of the year. I've already traveled up north for my bridal shower and have another trip planned next month. Then we're in the final countdown until the wedding. Ah! Too much going on but it should all be a good time.

Work Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Neck Top and Black Zipper Detail Pencil Skirt

Bodycon Pencil Skirt with Zipper Detailing, Mary Jane Heels, and Flamingo Print Top

It's been a while since I shared a work outfit with you but here's a pretty fun one featuring a flamingo print shirt. I was in the midst of preparing for our vacation in Las Vegas so the flamingos were reflective of that! This shirt from Shein isn't the best quality but the print is really cute and it looked good with my stretchy Forever 21 pencil skirt.

I always feel like bodycon stuff looks so much better on me in real life than in pictures but oh well! I'm posting these anyway. Some of that may stem from the fact that I don't have a classic hourglass shape. My hips are very narrow and today I learned I have a trending body part: hip dips! (Where there's an indentation where your hips meet your thighs.) Apparently that's something I'm supposed to reclaim and embrace. I'm pretty sure my sister and I just called them anti-hips but it is kind of nice to know it's a semi-normal thing! There'll be another weird body thing trending in a week so I guess I'll embrace this trend for now!

So how have you all been doing? My life has just been filled with wedding planning stuff! We picked our menu and talked to the venue last weekend. My first fitting for my wedding dress is this week too. Exciting times! We're still 4+ months out but it feels like it's all getting pretty close.

Have a great rest of your week! And follow along on Instagram and my new Facebook page to see more.

Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Orange Red Floral Skirt with Brown Wedge Sandals, a Yellow Shirt and Silvery Hair

I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!

Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt.

I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eating tapas, and hitting up a club. I already want to go back again even though I've been multiple times. It's just a fun place!

Now we're heading into the just-over-4-months mark until the wedding (how??) and have some final things to decide on, including planning some sort of honeymoon for the week after. I may need to brush up the wedding website a little bit, we need to pick food, decide on what to say/music to play for the ceremony, get my dress altered, etc. etc. So much to do!

Anyway, I hope you're all doing well and had a nice spring, since we're already heading into summertime! Happy Sunday!

Outfit: Elephant Print Bell Sleeved Dress with Raspberry Red Heels

Pink Hair, Boohoo Elephant Print Dress and Colorful Heels with a Black Lab Mix

Happy Wednesday to you! These pictures are from a little while back and were taken right after I had my hair done so it was freshly pink and delightful. Of course now it's purple and delightful, so that's good too.

This elephant print bell sleeved dress from Boohoo is one of my favorites because it's so incredibly comfortable. It isn't tight anywhere so it's great for days when I'm planning on having a food baby. Or just days when I don't want to think about what to wear. The black and white print makes it versatile and the awesomely large bell sleeves are really on trend.

I've worn this dress with tons of different shoes and tights, but this time I styled it with a new pair of raspberry red heels I got on clearance at Target. (Woohoo for Target clearance!) I'm pretty sure my hair makes this outfit though and my dog Riker is a pretty great addition too, if I do say so.

So how has your week been? No real news for me since my last post. Just work. Working this holiday weekend and waiting for our vacation in Las Vegas to get here.

I hope you have  a fun week ahead, as usual feel free to follow along on Instagram to see what's up in my day-to-day life!

Outfit: I'm Back in Florals!

Black Floral Target Spaghetti Strap Dress with Pink Hair

Guess who's back? Back again? Jamie's back. Tell a friend.
Now you have that song stuck in your head. You're welcome. And also if you're reading this, thank you for sticking around or at least having my blog still in your blog feeder!

It's been a while but I'm certainly ready to get back into blogging mode now that I'm all moved into a new apartment and am mostly unpacked and settled. I no longer have to drive 3 hours a day but work is keeping me very busy right now so I haven't quite reclaimed my normal amount of free time.

Pink, Black and Green Floral Molded Cup Spaghetti Strap Dress and Black Chunky Sandals
dress: xhileration - target | shoes: merona - target | earrings: old hand-me-downs

Now moving on to some outfit talk!
Everything I'm wearing here except the earrings is relatively new. My shoes were a February Target sale buy and I've been wearing them the most out of any of my shoes lately. (Hooray for comfy shoes that go with everything!) The black floral dress was an impulse buy during my last Target trip. I saw the molded cups and my first thought was, a dress for 100 degree weather so I don't have to wear a bra! So I bought it. It's also plenty long enough on me to wear to work with a cardigan, so that's a plus. Not that I need to buy any more dresses probably ever...

I no joke have all my dresses filling almost the entirety of one of our closets. I have a problem and I admit it but I want them allllll! The problem is most of them need to be ironed after being in storage for 9 months and ironing is the worst. Someone else please complain about ironing with me. Or maybe I'm just really bad at it so that's why I don't like it. That's probably the case.

Light Pink Hair, Bronze Lipstick, Black Floral Thin Strap Dress

Anyway - life has just been going the past month. Some things that have happened:
  • Riker, our puppy, turned 2 and is finally getting used to the new apartment. All he wants is to constantly be at the apartment complex's dog park.
  • I bought some plants/seeds for my porch garden and I've been enjoying taking care of that.
  • The wedding countdown has reached the less than 6 months mark which is both exciting and scary. Scary because everything for the wedding (mostly the ceremony) isn't planned yet and neither is any semblance of the honeymoon.
  • We're also heading to Vegas in a few weeks for bachelor/bachelorette friend/family/everyone fun.

So there's a good amount of excitement ahead and I'm looking forward to that. We're both just so happy to have our own space again. Especially now that we finally got internet after living in our apartment for 3 weeks. Yeah, that was a treat.

I hope you've all been great. I think I keep up with most of my blog friends on Instagram, so if you're at all interested, you can keep up with me there too. Out of all the online spaces, I keep that one the most up-to-date lately. There's just not enough time in the day!!

Happy Monday!

Outfit: Turquoise Leopard Turtleneck Dress and Black Block Heel Sandals

Mock Neck Teal Leopard Print Dress, Tassel Necklace, and Black Target Sandals

Long time, no blog! Did I say that last time? Well I finally have a new outfit to show you! I'm always trying, but sometimes failing, to fit blogging into my ridiculous schedule. Luckily there are some changes on the horizon that may make it easier to get back into blogging!

About this outfit: I picked up this super cool teal leopard mock turtleneck dress in the clearance racks at Forever 21. You really never know what you'll find in there. There was a more neutral-colored version too, but I went with a weird leopard color since I already have quite a few "normal" leopard print dresses. (Can you really ever have too many leopard dresses?)

My silver tassel necklace was a Christmas gift from my Mom because I desperately needed some statement necklaces for some of the plainer dresses I've been wearing to work. Sometimes I just want to throw on a t-shirt dress - with a cool necklace - and call it a day. It's rough getting up before the sun is up!

My black sandals are new from Target and you can still get them here. I'm loving the little block heels lately, but enjoy that shoes are quite as clunky as they were last time block heels were in style. I think it's something about the toe area being more narrow than square? I don't know but I like it!

I hope you've all been doing well. My news is that I think we finally found a new place to live! I don't want to jinx it, but if all goes well I'll be living back near work again and regaining almost 3 hours of my day that I currently spend commuting. Not to mention the whole having my own space again thing and being able to watch whatever I want on TV and having access to my whole wardrobe. Definitely looking forward to that!

In other news, how about Modcloth being bought by a Walmart subsidiary? I know it's kind of old news now but pretty disappointing. Just kind of sad to see a successful and unique female-owned business bought up. Interested to see how they change - though I've noticed a lot of branding changes the past few months prior to this announcement, did you?

Anyway, let me know what's up with your life and feel free to follow along on Instagram so you can see what's up with me on a daily basis! Happy Monday!

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Green Corduroy Button Down Skirt, Leopard Print T-shirt, Black Tights, Black Lace Up Boots

Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible. They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon!

The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I bought at Target years ago, but they're on storage and slightly different than these ones so... I have a shoe problem. I have no real excuse.

So what's new with you? I've been doing the same old same lately. Still looking for a place to live closer to work and planning our wedding - which is 8 months from today! Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy this engaged time but honestly I don't have time to enjoy it with my commuting, working, booking wedding vendors, taking care of our hyper dog when I'm home, etc. Life is a little crazy right now. I'm hoping once we find a new place to live things will be a little better. Like, I may have time to blog more than once every couple weeks or read a book without falling asleep in 30 seconds.

But really that's all that's going on with me. Once I publish this post I'm hopping right onto my Bloglovin' feed to read some of your blogs, which I really miss. I'm having a rare moment of free time right now so I'm going to take advantage of it!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Outfit: Dinosaur Print T-shirt, Black Ruffled Pinafore, and Silver Platforms

Ruffled Pinafore Dress from H&M, Dinosaur Print T-shirt, and Silver Chunky Heels

Long time no blog but I have a fun outfit to share with you today. Both the dinosaur print t-shirt and ruffled pinafore here are new purchases and I couldn't wait to wear them together. The two pieces should be pretty versatile and remixable too though. It was too hard to resist this dinosaur print t-shirt last time I was wandering through Forever 21. It's so perfect and just subtle enough to wear in a variety of situations. You might not even notice they're dinosaurs until you get up close!

The pinafore dress was an H&M clearance find. Just $10! Can't beat that. I'll be able to wear it year round with various tops underneath - and probably on its own too. The only negative thing is that it seems to wrinkle super easily. Oh well!

My silver platform heels were the final touch to this outfit. They feel super Spice Girls-tastic to me and I'm definitely on board with that. They're so delightfully shiny too. I just need to figure out more outfits to pair them with!

I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend and have a nice week to look forward to. I'm sure my week will be more of the same old same. Driving ten thousand years to work and back, hanging out with our dog, etc. As for life, wedding planning is chugging along and I'm looking forward to booking a trip to Las Vegas for this summer. But other than that, nothing particularly thrilling is going on for me so let me know what you're up to!

Have a fantastic Sunday!

Outfit: Metallic Leopard Print Skirt, Faux Choker Top, and Red Wedges

Metallic Leopard Print Skirt with Opaque Black Tights, Red Wedge Heels, and a Faux Choker Top

Just in time for Valentine's Day, here's a very Valentine-ish outfit to share with you! Because leopard print and red is automatically a Valentine's Day look in my mind. I actually wore this at Matt and my engagement party earlier this month so it's fitting to share it now. I had no idea what to wear that day and just threw this together a couple hours before. Most of it is new from a little bit of a shopping spree I had while looking for outfits for our engagement pictures.

This choker top from H&M is pretty trendy right now but I picked it up because it's both trendy and would match with a lot of different bottoms. The metallic leopard skirt was originally meant to be for our engagement pictures but I decided to go with another outfit, so this was its debut instead. Can you really ever have too many leopard print skirts? I say no. And my bright red wedges were a clearance find from over the summer. All a grand combination for a Valentine look!

I always use holidays as an excuse to wear themed outfits. I hope this look gives you a little outfit inspiration for tomorrow if you don't know what you're wearing. If not, I have another post with 15 Valentine's Day outfit ideas from last year that you can check out!

Do you have any good plans for tomorrow? Even if those plans are Netflix and chocolate, I think those are good plans. I'll just be cooking dinner with Matt and hopefully enjoying a nice beer. Should be a nice break in routine for what would otherwise be a normal boring Tuesday.

I hope you have a fantastic rest of your week and happy Valentine's Day!
