A Touch of Purple/ Help?

Happy Friday everyone!
This wasn't taken today, but I find it appropriate because I'm happy the weekend is here!

dress: xhileration; target
jacket: talbots; thrifted
tights: kmart
shoes: forever 21
necklace: pearls?
flower hair clip: forever 21

Well the week is finally over. Sort of. I have another football game to attend tomorrow, so my weekend will really start after that ends!

I'm getting more and more excited because my 21st birthday is exactly two weeks from today. I have a countdown going on. The other day I picked up a skirt from Forever 21 to wear on my birthday, but I need to figure out how to style it. Perhaps you guys can help me? It's this black tulle skirt. It hits me above my knees and it's quite voluminous so I'm not sure what sort of top to pair with it. My leopard print blouse comes to mind, but I haven't tried them on together yet. Any ideas are welcome!

Free Time

I was running on 4 1/2 hours of sleep when these were taken. Can you tell?

Believe it or not, I thrifted both the skirt and top for a dollar each. I should have taken a closer picture of the pattern on the skirt because it has really pretty gold detailing around some of the flowers. It was originally super long, but luckily I have an awesome mom that takes up my thrift skirts for me! It's necessary when you're barely 5 feet tall!

skirt: vintage; thrifted
top: thrifted
belt: ralph lauren; thrifted
shoes: xhileration; target
necklace: forever 21
bow: made by Mom

I guess I couldn't look at the camera today for fear of it sucking out my soul.

I liked the classic silhouette in my outfit today and the subtle print mixing. The tiny stripes in my top just went so well with this skirt for some reason!

Today is my first free day of doing nothing in a while and I plan on taking full advantage of this whole night. And by that I mean watching lots of tv, reading lots of blogs, and probably some intense facebooking. Happy Wednesday!

Music Midtown 2011

Just a few pictures from the Music Midtown festival on Saturday. I went with my old high school friend and it was fantastic.

We got there quite early, so the crowd was small. It got hugely crowded later on though!

There was a glorious row of comfort zones.

Seeing The Black Keys. It was fantastic!

Coldplay as the headliner.

We were so squished into the crowd and I could hardly see a thing, but I could hear it! There was a huge amount of standing too so I'm glad I wore my blue flats even though they got really dirty. All in all it was a great day. Let's hope Music Midtown comes back next year. It's cool having a music festival right here in Atlanta.

I'm a bit behind on outfit posts, so I wore this outfit a week ago:

top: sirens
shorts: thrifted levi's
tights: target
shoes: forever 21
necklace: forever 21

Last week was super busy for me, so there wasn't much blogging activity going on for me. This week should be better though. I had a fantastic weekend filled with The Lion King in 3D, Music Midtown, and hanging at home with the family.

Happy Monday!

Where Am I?

I've been neglectfully not posting this week and that's pretty sad. It's obviously because I haven't been wearing clothes this week. Just kidding. I had a lot of tests.

top: h&m
skirt: thrifted vintage
shoes: xhileration; target
bow: forever 21

This outfit is actually from a couple weeks ago. I felt it was appropriate to match a pink skirt to the pink bows in my top. Also - those blue shoes again. I can't stop wearing the blue shoes!

Who here is super excited it's fall now?
I'll be waiting for truly cool weather for a little while though.

I'm having a pretty fantastic weekend already due to being done with tests, seeing The Lion King in 3D, and going down to Music Midtown for a bit today. I'll start to catch up on all your blog posts tonight too! Hooray for weekends!

Romp Romping

I present you with an outfit from last week on a warm day:
romper: forever 21
shoes: xhileration; target
cardigan: kohls
headband: forever 21

I really like this romper. It's comfortable and has such nice, bright colors. However I hardly wear it because it's so hard to get off! It's bad enough having to practically be undressed to go to the bathroom, but then you throw in the button on the back and the acrobat tricks used to get your arms out.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Happy Monday!

September 16, 2011

What is up with these weather swings we're having? It was in the high 80's yesterday and now the high is in the 60's. Seriously.

shirt: target
skirt: forever 21
tights: kmart?
shoes: xhileration; target
blazer: talbots

Hooray for being able to wear tights and a jacket! For today, atleast.

I meant to do some epic web slinging pictures in my spiderman shirt, but I completely forgot. I guess it'll have to wait until next time!

My jacket is wrinkly. Sad.
Anyway, happy Friday!

This Green Silk Shirt

I never can think of any good ways to wear this green silk shirt. It's a nice color, but the sleeves desperately need to be chopped. Here's what I came up with because I better wear it if it's taking up space in my closet:

shirt: thrifted
skirt: delia*s
cardigan: pacsun
shoes: target
necklace: great grandma collection
bow: made by mom for a theatre costume

So. How about that butterfly necklace. It had green in it so it had to go with this top, right? Just agree with me.

I'm supposed to be studying right now. Instead I'm blogging and watching Unsolved Mysteries. (Does anybody else love that show? I can never stop being entertained by the hilariously old reenactments.)

Also, for you cool people who inquired about my band nerdity, I play the trumpet. Here's me a couple years back with my school's mascot, Uga:

Happy Wednesday!

It's Still Summer

It's so hot here! So I'm wearing my summer clothes. I got this dress over the summer and I figured I'd wear it while I can still show off the cool back.

It's technically still summer so I'm allowed to wear a blatantly summer look, right?

dress: forever 21
shoes: self esteem; shoe carnival
flower hair clip: forever 21
earrings: forever 21

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I'm still waiting for a day where I can just sit on the couch and be lazy all day. My weekends are busy in the fall, though, because I'm in the marching band. That means lots of football games on many Saturdays.

Speaking of band, both bands did a combo 9/11 tribute in the middle of halftime on Saturday:

I'm right there! Somewhere toward the 50 yard line on the right side. You mean you can't see me?

Happy Tuesday!

Little Black Dress Remix

Happy Friday!

dress: poof apparel; ross dress for less
blouse: thrifted
shoes: croft & barrow
socks: very very old from ireland
hair flower: forever 21
ring: vintage from great grandma collection

I really like how I can wear this dress during all seasons depending on how I layer it. More recently, I've enjoyed layering blouses underneath it. One of my favorites under it is my ruffled leopard print blouse. I went for a monochromatic look for this outfit though. The socks make everything a lot cuter, I think. Although some people were staring at me whilst walking around campus. For real.

Here's a few ways I've worn this dress in the past:

I can't wait until it's cool enough for tights here! The tightless picture was taken in late September last year. So I guess I have a while to go.

My Custom Jeans!

My indiDenim custom jeans finally came! I was pretty excited so I had to wear them today since it won't be cool like this again for a while.

jeans: indidenim
shirt: thrifted
shoes: xhileration; target
cardigan: so...; kohls
hair bow: forever 21

The moral of this story is I love these jeans. They fit perfectly and they're exactly what I wanted. They took about a month to get here, but it was worth the wait. They make me want to wear jeans, which I usually don't do. I got them an inch or so longer than my actual inseam so I can wear them with heels too. They're the perfect classic jean and will last me for many years without being out of style.

They fit my flat butt! No more saggy butt syndrome for me!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. Hooray for 4 day weeks. I plan on eating some tasty wings tonight so I'm pretty excited. Hope everyone had a fantastic day!

A Taste of Fall

It feels miraculous outside today! That's because we're getting some cool fall weather which is strange for this time of year. I'm embracing it though, because it's supposed to be back into the upper 80's by this weekend.
cardigan: old navy
skirt: homemade by Mom
shoes: xhileration; target
headband: forever 21

I was actually comfortable in my cardigan today. I probably could have even worn jeans! I might do that tomorrow because my custom indidenim jeans came in the mail and I want to wear them while it's still cool outside.

When we went home for labor day weekend Mom had made a few skirts for us. I was pretty excited. They were made for us so they fit perfectly! And the poppy print on this skirt is super pretty. Mom is da bomb.

P.S: I got pinterest so if you want to Follow Me on Pinterest, feel free! I need some friends to follow too!

September is Summer

I made an attempt to wear a cardigan the other day, but I was dying walking to class in it as it's still in the upper 90's here. I wore it the whole day though because I think this outfit would be a bit bare without it.
romper: xhileration; target
shoes: self esteem; shoe carnival
cardigan: forever 21
flower hair clip: forever 21
necklace: unknown - found it in a drawer
sunglasses: big lots

I really like this hummingbird necklace. It had been in one of my drawers back home for who knows how long. I re-discovered it over the summer.

Jeanie and I went to an Of Montreal concert last night at The Georgia Theatre. It was pretty awesome, as usual! They're so crazy and I love it. It is pretty annoying being short and going to standing concerts, though. Why does every 7-foot-tall guy have to stand right in the front? They can see everything from the back! Not to mention the people who get there 15 minutes before the band goes on and shove their way through to the front. Some guy shuffled sideways all the way so he was right in front of Jeanie, completely blocking her view of anything. So she yelled at him and it was hilarious. Then you have drunkies that lose all personal space cues (which I realize is a very small amount when in a concert situation) and lean on you for minutes at a time. Ew. At least the music is worth it!

There's a busy Saturday of football ahead of me, so I'm not sure how relaxing this weekend will be. It'll be fun though! Have a fantastic labor day weekend!
