October 31, 2011

I love Halloween so much. It's quite possibly my favorite holiday of the year. I had a Halloween party last Wednesday and I dressed up as a gnome.

I had this costume last year, but I only wore it for about an hour so I needed to make it count this year. I changed it up a little with the tights and shoes this year.

Jeanie went as a pirate. Aaaargh!

I'm a luxurious gnome.

I tend to plan my outfit for the day around its holiday too. So today I had a Halloween themed one complete with the orange and black color scheme. I have a feeling these rust-colored tights will be making an appearance very often this fall.

I always have to have the festive nails too. They glow in the dark too! One of my professors wanted a closer look at my nails today. She's cool because she gave us all popcorn balls in class.

The rest of my outfit is after the break:

Story of Suede Shorts

You can't really tell in these pictures, but these suede shorts are incredibly tight in the waist. I fought through it though because I'm cool like that.

The shorts were only a dollar at the super cheap thrift store by home. I come across the most random things at that place. I think another trip there is in order over Thanksgiving break.

^Stone Face^
shorts: wilson's leather; thrifted
top: delia*s
blazer: talbots petites; thrifted
scarf: lila boutique; gift
tights: forever 21
shoes: forever 21
sunglasses: forever 21

I like how these shorts look, but I'm not sure I'll wear them again unless I magically wake up with a smaller waist. I just don't have a very hourglass shape. There's not a whole lot of waist definition; I'm more straight up and down. I just try to create the illusion of an hourglass shape (What Not To Wear told me I'm supposed to do that) ha.

I'm leaving for St. Augustine, Florida in the morning for the Georgia-Florida game! I'm pretty pumped as it's always a fun trip. It'll be even more fun if we win!

Happy Thursday!

Colorfully Fall-y

I loved how colorful this outfit was. In a nice, fall way.

(The flash in these pictures gave me a beautifully eerie Halloween glow!)

dress: xhileration; target
tights: forever 21
shoes: forever 21
blazer: so...; don't remember the store
necklace: great grandma collection

The tights were a birthday gift from my sister. She bought me a bunch of tights - just what I wanted! Thanks Jeanie!

I had a great weekend. It's too bad it's over! My boyfriend took me to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke for my birthday. It was a very fun outing, especially since I hadn't been before! I was impressed by his creative idea for a birthday gift. After many hours in Atlanta I went home and had Mexican food with the family.
I completed the weekend by avoiding studying for my French film class (which paid off because the quiz was canceled) and messing around with my new phone (which is awesomely fast and so nice).

Happy Tuesday!

I'm Ridiculous

These pants are ridiculous, but I had to. They actually came with suspenders, but I took them off for this outfit. They're not the most flattering things and I really don't know how to style them, but I tried.

pants: thrifted
top: thrifted
cardigan: so...; kohls
shoes: xhileration; target

But really, how does one make these flattering? I'll do a with-suspenders outfit sometime in the near future.

This is my butt shot.
Pretty sexy, right?

Power stance!

Oh dear. Well. Now we all know I have little shame. I walked around in these on campus, but didn't notice any strange looks. Didn't notice is the main idea here. I'm sure people were like, "Whaaaat? That girl cuuuraaayzeeee!"

In other news, according to my school a flannel shirt and jeans is deemed "fancy" now. Who knew? I had a blazer on too, so maybe that's what was so fancy about my outfit. I dared walk into the cool weather sans sweatshirt! I will never understand the so-called "style" of the UGA undergrads.

Happy Friday!

Little Military Jacket

I thrifted this little jacket over the summer. It had epic shoulder pads and the sleeves came down to my elbows. With a little altering it became cute! I enjoy the military button detailing on it.

jacket: thrifted
t-shirt: forever 21
skirt: forever 21
necklace: forever 21
bow: forever 21

This outfit was from a couple days ago. I needed something light to wear that still looked somewhat like fall. Now it's too cold for bare legs and short sleeves, but we'll see how long that lasts!

Happy Thursday!

Hot or Cold?

I'm always faced with the question of what to wear when it's nearly 90 degrees in October. It's just such a weird month here. Take this week for example. Highs near 90 on Monday and by Wednesday the high is 61. It's that crazy.

shorts: forever 21
top: liz claiborne; thrifted
cardigan: ann taylor loft; thrifted
shoes: xhileration; target
belt: ralph lauren: thrifted
earrings: great grandma collection

Ha. I look like I'm posing for a school picture. I just wanted to show off the cute boat print on my shirt.

I enjoy my new corduroy shorts. The color is great. It's amazing how many things they match with. I'm sure I'll be wearing them all fall and winter, but perhaps soon I can add tights to them!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It really was an awesome one.
Happy Tuesday!

21st Birthday Post #2

Wooo! Birthday post #2 is here!
I'm kind of sad that most pictures everyone took from that night turned out blurry or didn't turn out at all. Here's a few that did, though.

Nutella-tini at dinner.

Beer bottle birthday cake from Mom

My going out outfit. Check out the sparkly heels. They're pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Dancing time. An all 90's music bar. I'll definitely be going back there.

That was my day in a nutshell.

21st Birthday: Outfit #1

It's my birthday! Wooooo! I can't believe I finally made it to 21.

This is my daytime outfit.

skirt: forever 21
top: forever 21
shoes: xhileration; target
bow: h&m
earrings: vintage 80's from Mom

I felt it was completely appropriate to wear this tulle skirt to class. It's my birthday and I get to wear whatever I want and I don't care who thinks I'm too dressed up!
I can't believe I didn't get a good picture of my earrings. They're the same ones I wore for my birthday last year. Perhaps I'll leave them in for going out. We'll see.

I'm just waiting for friends and family to arrive in Athens so I can begin my festivities. A nap might be in order so I can stay out late!

Happy Friday everyone!

Last 20 Day

It's my last day of being 20 and what a fine day it's been!

Jeanie and I had a little photo shoot outside my apartment today before the storm blew in. The storm were very welcome because we got band practice canceled. Hooray for a free night!

My outfit:
dress: bailey blue; thrifted
cardigan: kirra; pacsun
tights: target kids' section
shoes: forever 21
belt: ralph lauren; thrifted

There were so many hilarious pictures. These are a mix of some silly and some normal, but believe me - 80% were goofy and that's the way I like it!

I'm mentally preparing myself for my 21st birthday festivities tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. As of now the plan is to have a delicious dinner with my family, cake back at my apartment, and then head out downtown to booze it up. It will be my boozestravaganza!

It's good to finally be turning 21 because people never believe my age. (A real ID is necessary.) Occassionally if I'm going out to eat with my parents the hostess asks if we need any children's menus. Now I can be like, "No thanks, but I'll take your drink menu."

Happy Thursday!

Last Year's Birthday Dress

These pictures turned out horrible. I must have been in a hurry. These are the best ones if that's tells you anything.

What is this expression? I look angry.
dress: evan picone; thrifted
cardigan: forever 21
shoes: xhileration; target
belt: ralph lauren; thrifted
headband: forever 21

I thrifted this dress last year and wore it for my 20th birthday. I actually like the way I wore this dress last year better than this time, but I thought I'd try pairing brown things with it instead of black. I was so happy and birthday-y last year. Aw.
Two more days until I'm 21!

Happy Wednesday!

Boyfriend Approved

It's always good to get a compliment from my boyfriend instead of the what-are-you-wearing-? look.

skirt: forever 21
sweater: forever 21
tights: betsy johnson; ross dress for less
shoes: xhileration; target
bow: forever 21

It's been rainy here the past couple days hence the awful lighting in these pictures.

This sweater is from my senior year of high school. I'm now in my senior year of college. I have very few items I wear now that I wore back then, but this red sweater is pretty classic. I plan on styling it in other ways while it's cool here. It actually cooled down for a couple days here due to the rain.

I wasn't expecting this outfit to be such a hit with my boyfriend. I wear whatever I like, knowing he is going to think some things are strange. I never know when to expect a compliment on what I wear, but it's always nice when I get one.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Guest Posting at Lovely Miss Megs

Hello everyone! I did a guest post over at Lovely Miss Megs, so you should definitely check that out if you get a chance. I go over a few ways to dress like it's fall when fall is still toasty.

Happy Sunday!

Sunset Skirt

I guess I forgot to take these pictures off my camera, because they're two weeks old already!

I love this headband. It reminds me of a phoenix for some reason.

skirt: handmade by Mom
cardigan: forever 21
belt: forever 21
shoes: xhileration;target
headband: forever 21

I wore this outfit to the mall a couple weeks back. I love how comfortable these shoes are. I could've walked around the mall for a few hours. Unfortunately it was a Sunday and the stupid mall closes early. It's quite a dumb thing in my opinion because Saturday and Sunday are the two days most people are off work and able to shop. So why be closed when the most people can be shopping? Ugh. I wanted to shop for a little longer!

Anyway, happy Saturday!

Grocery Shopping

I only got dressed last Sunday because I had to go grocery shopping. It was kind of cool outside so I got to break out a pair of jeans!

jeans: delia*s
top: thrifted
cardigan: forever 21
shoes: target
bag: thrifted
earrings: old

This was my awkward pose of the day.

I figured I'd get as much wear out of these shoes as I can before fall weather really gets here. I'll probably have another month to wear them! I really enjoyed wearing them with jeans. They're so tall and comfy.

It's almost the weekend! That's pretty exciting, right? Happy Thursday!

10 Days

Why do I sleep through every class on Tuesdays? Perhaps Tuesdays need some new excitement.

I've got to say: this outfit is perfect for fall in Georgia. At least, until it actually cools down. (When will that be?)

skirt: forever 21
t-shirt: vintage
shoes: forever 21
belt: ralph lauren; thrifted

As much as I love my girly dresses, I feel very me when I style up these vintage t-shirts. The mini houndstooth in this skirt looks great with all sorts of outfits. I don't know why I don't wear it more often, but I plan on remedying that.

In other news, there's 10 days left until my 21st birthday. I'm having a countdown, can you tell?
