A Professional Look for an Internship Interview

I'm so sorry about my lack of posting the past couple days. I've just had so much research to do and papers to write. Unfortunately you might be bored by this outfit, but it's something I wore and a little out of the ordinary for me. It's an interview outfit! I tried my best to not look too boring and I think the cool zipper detailing on my blazer and the tiny polka dot print on my dress pants helped. My mom actually took me out shopping and basically put this whole outfit together when I was freaking out about what to wear for the interview. Hooray Mom! Now I have a good interview outfit for the future.

I'm just not feeling my hair here though. I was at the point of wanting to chop it (and I have since then). Looking at these pictures now, I would have worn a tiny bit more color on my lips too.

blazer, blouse, pants, earrings: new york and co. | shoes: kohl's?

I hope this outfit didn't bore you too much and maybe gave you an idea of something to wear for an occasion when you need to be professional (if that's not already part of your daily life). I think the subtle pattern and pretty color of the top really helps keep things from being too dull. I never want to look dull! This is also a good example of professional clothes for a short girl. The key is to get your pants hemmed! These wide legged pants are very What Not To Wear approved too. I just needed my pointy toed heels to get the thumbs up from Stacy London

I hope you're all having a nice week. At the very least I hope you're surviving. I'm trying. Only two exams and I'm done with my last semester of actual classes.

Happy Tuesday!

Survive those exams, girl!! You can do it!!

I like this look tons, even if it is professional. I think the zippers do add personality, and the print on your pants is lovely, too!! Hope it went well. :)

hope it went well! what was it for? I'm supposed to dress professional at work, although it's more like business casual, and it's def a fine line between professional and boring. I think this is a fantastic interview outfit though w/ the little details you said & the texture on the slacks.

I LOVE those shoes, and that blazer has such cool details! I also really love that your pants are polkadotted on closer inspection. Little details like that make me happy!

I always hated figuring out what to wear for interviews; thankfully I only ever had to wear super-professional clothing to one. The others were for coffee stands, so I dressed nicely (in a skirt) but it wasn't office-professional, that's for sure! I think you (or your mom, hehe!) came up with a great basic interview outfit! I hope you have good luck with it!
