March Favorites

Happy Wednesday everyone! Since it's the last day of April I figured it was probably time I got my March favorites posted. It's been a very busy couple of months so things have been neglected here in blogland. I'm looking forward to getting back to my regular schedule and getting to read your blogs regularly again!

Anyway, here are some of my favorites from March:

The Pineneedle Collective and A Walk in the Park

Polka Dot Bustier Top, Chambray Skirt, Orange Sunglasses, Red Purse, & Silver Sandals

Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks back on a particularly warm day. Spring has been very up and down temperature wise so I was completely comfortable in this skin-baring outfit. Matt and I took a walk up to the Smoothie King and wandered around town a little bit. So this is an outfit I actually went out and did something in. Hence the addition of my red PepaLoves bag and smoothie accessory. I'm sure I complained about the heat at some point, but it was a very pleasant afternoon walk. Plus I got to break out some very summery clothes even though I'll probably be ready to put them away once June hits.

I really like how these pictures turned out. (Thanks Matt!) We were on our way back home when I saw the purple-y flowers next to a nearby sidewalk. How much more "spring" can it get than a bunch of flowers as a background for pictures?

top, skirt, headband, sunglasses: forever 21 | sandals: shoe carnival | bag: c/o pepaloves | necklace: gift from Matt

Of course a couple days after these were taken I was back in tights and a jacket (which I actually love so no complaints here). Now it's hot again. Plus stormy. Spring in Georgia. Have you had a chance to break out summer clothes yet? Don't be too jealous. My face will be melting off once June rolls around. Why must I live in a state with hellish summers?

But anyway, I hope you all have a great start to your week. I'll be writing research papers! Once I'm done, I'm done with school though. Then it's on to job hunting mode/more blogging mode. Hooray!

Weekend Roundup / 3

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I still have a lot of work to do to finish up my last couple assignments before graduation, but it's getting there. It's so hard to stay motivated when the end is so very near! Anyway, here's a recap of this week's Instagram, cool links, & this blog's posts:

Abstract Digital Print Dress, Jean Jacket, Pink Tights, & Ankle Boots

Happy Friday everyone! You may remember this abstract digital print dress from last summer. It kind of stands out with all the fun colors. I ended up styling it up for cooler spring weather this time with my pink tights and jean jacket. I swear I've been wearing this jean jacket with everything lately because I know it'll be way too warm for it soon. Like now.

How would you style this dress up for warm weather? Last time I just wore some yellow wedges with it. It's kind of a busy dress so it's difficult to make it different each time. I guess I don't really have to wear a completely different outfit every time I get dressed. (Not that I do that all the time anyway.)

Do you have a fun weekend ahead of you? I'll be researching, but there's good news! I will be able to finish my master's degree in two weeks! It's been a long semester of worry and I have some buckling down to do for the next few days, but now I can relax a little bit. At least, my anxiety brain can relax a little.

Have a fantastic rest of your week!

Internship Outfit: Floral Trousers, Blue Polo, Nude Heels, & a Black Cardigan

In honor of today being my last day at the Aquarium, here is the only work outfit I actually photographed. It just recently continued to be light outside when I get home so there hasn't been much opportunity to show you my internship outfits. On Instagram I bathroom selfie-d a few though so you may want to check that out!

Anyway, these trousers are certainly becoming a favorite. I wore them to work a few times, but this time I paired them with my blue work polo instead of one of my work cardigans. This shirt was the best fitting item I had to work with, but my slightly oversized cardigans were nice to throw over a bunch of my dresses. When I first started my internship they gave me men's shirts since, if they haven't seen me, people assume I'm a boy from my name. (Fun fact: I was actually marked as a male in the computer systems in high school for about 3 years.) The men's sizes didn't work out too well and I soon got them replaced! It's definitely a challenge working around a few required items of clothing, but I made it work!

shirt: from work | pants: h&m | shoes: payless | cardigan: so... - kohl's | hair bow: h&m

I can't believe my internship is already over. I met some cool people and had good experiences with a unique internship opportunity. I should be celebrating because graduation is supposed to be on the horizon, but my screw up school has made this entire semester hell. I've passed my comprehensive exams, finished my internship, and am nearly done with my required research paper that goes along with my internship but I still have an extra piece because people don't know how to write forms that are correct. I can't even plan for graduation because of this issue so I haven't bought a cap and gown and won't be walking whether I graduate in 2 weeks or in August. I'll be so embarrassed if they don't let me graduate even though it's entirely their fault. I'm furious. I can't tell you how tired I am of worrying and being angry.

If you made it through that short rant, congratulations. If not, don't worry. I'll be sharing my anger at a later point in time. Perhaps you'll enjoy it.

Have a great Wednesday!

Pink Mustache Print Shift Dress, Pink & Black Kitten Heels, & Polka Dot Sunglasses

Happy Monday everyone! I thought it was time to style my pink mustache print shift dress again. This is the one I found in the kids' section of Walmart over the summer. Apparently I'm the size of a large child so that works out well for me. I went without belting it for maximum comfort this time and actually really like how it looked. It's fitted enough through the waist to look alright. I have the same dress in navy blue stripes so I may have to wear that one like this soon. They're great dresses to throw on when it's hot outside, but it was slightly cool the day I wore this outfit so it was a tights day!

I'm not 100% ready to give up tights until October. They make it so easy to remix a piece or an outfit that's otherwise the same without a different pair of tights. Oh well though. It's already getting warm and should be in the 80s this week. I'm already saying farewell to spring!

dress: cherokee - walmart | tights: forever 21? | shoes: no idea. got them in high school | sunglasses: forever 21

Do you like my shoes? I bought these way back in high school and they've just been sitting in my closet. I wore them to work when I realized they were there. I called them my Barbie shoes probably due to their color scheme and cute heart-shaped top.

I hope you guys all have a fantastic start to your week!

Weekend Roundup / 2

Happy Sunday and happy Easter! This has been a decently low-key week. I've just been researching and taking notes. I can smell delicious Easter dinner cooking right now so I'm looking forward to that. I hope you've all had a nice weekend. But anyway, it's time for this week's roundup. Here are some links for you to explore and some Instagram highlights from this past week.

Black Floral Top, Maroon Skater Skirt, & Studded Loafers

An outfit post on Thursday? Yes. I was way too tired Tuesday night to schedule a post for Wednesday, so here we are on Thursday.

This maroon skater skirt from H&M has to be one of the most worn items in my wardrobe. It looks good with just about everything and the shape is perfect. If I had one in every color I'd be happy. Or even just one other color would be great. It's delightfully short too which can be a problem when it's windy. For example, I wore this while buying things for my mom's birthday party. I didn't realize it was supposed to be super windy that day and came out of the store with 3 bags and a big balloon along with my purse. It's kind of impossible to hold a skirt down while trying keep a balloon from flying away while holding other things unless you have an extra arm. This was one of those days when I really did need another arm so if you saw my butt in the parking lot that day, I'm sorry and you're welcome.

top: forever 21 (had it since high school) | skirt: h&m | tank top: old navy | shoes: xappeal - rack room shoes

In other news, the end of my last semester ever of school is nearing (assuming everything works out as it's supposed to). My internship at the Aquarium ends next week and my paper deadlines are looming over me. I didn't tell you guys the long and annoying story of how my school screwed me over in this last semester, but since it's caused me so much strife (mostly mentally) I may have to share it. Not until I get my degree though. Or this summer if it turns out I can't graduate. I'm filled with rage about the situation since I am at no fault and am essentially being punished for their mistakes. But we'll talk about this more later.

Right now I have to continue researching then perhaps if I do enough I can reward myself with Del Taco. Rewarding yourself with food is obviously the most healthy way to motivate yourself. The more you know.

Have a great Thursday!

Jean Jacket, Striped Top, Corduroy Shorts, Green Lace Tights, Moccasins, & a 90s Choker Necklace

Happy Monday everyone! This is an outfit I wore a couple weeks back. It's currently a little too warm for my jean jacket, but the weather people say it's supposed to cool down this week so we'll see. Anyway, the main story with this outfit is that I'm bringing the choker necklace back. Not really, but I tried. It wasn't a planned thing but I was feeling a slightly 90s vibe going on with my jean jacket that day so I figured I may as well add the choker. It was my mom's 90s choker so that's exciting.

Chokers aren't technically the best choice for short people since they cut off the neckline, but my high-waisted shorts help to counter the shortening effect of the choker. Plus who says I always have to try to look tall? It's all an illusion on the blog anyway since putting me next to any reference items (or people) gives away my height!
Maybe it's time you dug out a choker necklace from the depths of your jewelry...box / drawer / pile?

jean jacket: so... - thrifted | shirt, shorts, tights: forever 21 | shoes: old navy | necklace: from Mom

So what's going on with you? Any exciting plans for the week? I'll be reading many academic articles, attempting to write a paper, and working. Sad times, you guys. It's very hard to concentrate on school work! I have an epic case of senioritis. Though it's not really senioritis since I was a senior in college 2 years ago. I'm going to call it the graduate school blues and also you're-23-get-out-of-school-itis.

Have a happy Monday and be sure to follow me on Twitter via @petitepanoply and @JamieRDonaldson to keep up with me during the work day! I tweet some cool articles if you like learning stuff. Learning is fun!

Weekend Roundup / 1

I hope you're all having a great weekend! I know I occasionally do a Things I Love Thursday post, but perhaps a weekend roundup of links, Instagram highlights, & my weekly posts will be fun to start! The categories may change somewhat week-to-week, but I'll still try to categorize these links so you can find something you're interested in.

Anyone who has read the book knows the people don't see in color. It would be true to the book to see Jonas begin seeing the world in color a la Pleasantville. (Apparently the film is going to start out B&W though, so no worries!)

\\ Have no idea what net neutrality is about? This article sums it up quickly and easily.

\\ Scientists have regenerated an organ in mice: the thymus. This could lead the way to organ regeneration in humans.

\\ Interesting post on how we're killing our bodies' good bacteria with antibiotics.

\\ Studies suggest children can understand more complex math than we give them credit for. They're being under-challenged and benefit from being exposed to advanced content.
