Outfit: Red Matching Separates with Gold Leaf Earrings and Clog Sandals

Happy Monday everyone! I'm so excited to finally show you the new matching set I bought last month. It had a broken zipper but was the only one left in my size so I bought it knowing it needed to be repaired. Mom recently stuck a new zipper in it for me since I'm not a sewing wizard. This set was only about $20 so I consider that a bargain even if it needed a repair.

I can't get enough of matching separates. They're super on trend, highly remixable, and easy to style simply for summer. For the debut of this red and navy blue matching set I added some large gold leaf earrings and my trusty brown clog sandals. I've already worn the skirt on its own and plan on styling the top with different bottoms too. That's the beauty of these sets. Once it's not cool to wear clothes that match perfectly you can wear them separately! As of now I'm enjoying that these sets are in style again. They remind me of the matching separates Mom would make us when we were little - except grown up versions.

So did you guys have a good weekend? I headed back to Athens for Athfest, hanging with Matt, and beginning the apartment packing process. It's very weird to be moving out of that apartment. It's kind of a crappy place, but I lived there for years so it's bittersweet. Someday I'll live in a better place of my own, I hope. It probably won't be in Athens, Georgia though and that's a little unfortunate since it's such a cool city. Oh well.

Anyway, have a great Monday!

PS: If you haven't yet, please check out my first outfit video and subscribe/thumbs up it if you like it! Thanks!

This set is amazing! I never would have guessed it was only $20. The color suits you perfectly, and the pattern is really unique and lovely. I just discovered matching separates a few weeks ago, and they're absolutely my new favorite thing!

Good luck with your move - I'm moving, too, and this is a little procrastinatory break from packing! I'm doinga giveawayon my blog this week, and I'd love for you to check it out :)

I can't recall the last time you only wore one pattern ;)

Gorgeous as always!

Good luck with the packing. The student accommodation Kris and I had was awful but the memories are bittersweet :)

I've been very on the fence about this trend but you are rockin' it and this is a killer piece. Like 100% great. I think part of me is with you on how our parents in the 90's used to dress us this way -- maybe that's part of my aversion? haha.

Where are you moving to?

Im in love with the print of this set. I haven't worn or bought one of them yet but Ive been tempted. I just would like the skirt to be longer if I did buy one since the top shows some midriff. You're rocking it though, I also love the cutout detail in yours. http://theredlipchronicles.blogspot.com

Gah, that set is GORGEOUS! And I love how it makes your hair pop. I've been thinking of changing a few of my vintage dresses into sets, since my style isn't so 50's housewife-y anymore, haha. Though I'm dangerous when I wield scissors and I'm worried I'll just ruin them- I need to gather my courage ;) This outfit definitely is nudging me to try, though!

i LOVE this set! You wear it so well<3 I wish i didn't have such weird proportions so I could get sets like these! Though that top is well worth the $20 in itself!

Duuuude, this set is so cute! I always see sets but then think eh, I might not wear the top or whatever, but I guess that wouldn't matter if you get a skirt out of it. XD The print on this is adorable! Nice pick. <33

You know I love a great matching separate outfit! I love how highly mixable they are and how you get way more bang for your buck. I think this particular outfit is so pretty on you. The colors, of course, are perfect. Good luck with packing! I know how stress inducing that can be.
