Holiday Outfit: Blue Lattice Print Dress, Rhinestone Back Seam Tights, and Rose Gold Heels

Happy Monday and happy first full week of 2015! This is yet another holiday outfit I wore recently. I picked up this All About the Ambiance dress from Modcloth during one of their sales around Black Friday. I always appreciate the buyer reviews on their website because it makes getting the right size so much easier. Somebody with my exact waist size said this one ran small and to get the medium, I did. And guess what? It fits like a glove!

I love the extra pleats and volume at the hips on this dress. It's one of those details that works perfectly for people who have absolutely no hips/butt. I sometimes describe my body shape as "boobs on a board" and that definitely isn't an enviable description. Fit and flare dresses give me a better hourglass shape by balancing out my boobs with my bottom half. They work the same way with people who have plenty of junk in their trunk too, which is kind of magical. The pleats on this one add a little extra though, which is ultra flattering to we boobsy and not buttsy types. I still wear bodycon dresses when I want to but it's nice to look extra proportional too!

Anyway, I wore this outfit to a Christmas dinner that wasn't actually on Christmas at my grandparents' house. It was definitely too cold outside to be walking around without a cardigan, but outfit pictures are a special exception! I paired my wonderful new dress with some new dark gray tights that have subtle rhinestone detailing to look like a back seam. The flower pin is a a vintage piece.

Are you all ready to get back into normal swing of things? I'm not! Holiday food is too delicious and the breaks in routine are very welcome. Oh well. More fun times will roll around eventually!

I hope you have a happy Monday!

Happy New Year to you!
I love a fit and flare shaped dress. I do love bodycon, but on others, I rarely wear it myself. I'm all about fit and flare!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I'm still on holiday for another week :D

Hope 2015 brings you all that you want and more!

I so totally appreciate the reviews on Modcloth too! I am one who hates having to return stuff, so it's a huge lifesaver for me! It totally does fit you like a glove! and those tights are just so cute!

CUTE! I live for fit-and-flair dresses too! But I am the opposite of you, I have a giant bum and no boobs, but the shape of the skirt hides my butt, so win! Those tights are adorable!

Boobs on a board. Omg, Jamie. I laughed out loud as that. I'm just a board with a butt, so I sorta feel you there LOL. That dress is absolutely precious, though! I love the flare.
