Work Outfit: White Shift Dress with Sheer Cutouts and Two-toned Flats

White Shift Dress with Sheer Cutout Hem, Red Bouffant, and Two-toned Flats

Happy Monday! I picked up this shift dress from Boohoo.com a little while back and waited to wear it for some reason. I don't know why, because I love it! I don't have a lot of shift dresses so this one was a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I love the modern mesh cutouts with the classically shaped dress. It also has a texture that reminds me of a reptile print when you look at it up close. I'm sure I'll figure out plenty of ways to wear this white dress but I kept it pretty simple and a little retro for its first time out.

This hugely messy bouffant was a test to see if I could manage getting my hair up. It's long enough with a ton of bobby pins, but I'm still not very skilled at fixing my hair. I blame it on having a hairdresser mom who does my hair way better (and faster) than I ever could. Therefore I never had to learn how to fix mine. That's okay though. My strategy is to throw a giant bow on it. Try it. It helps!

So did you have a good weekend? Matt and I finished unpacking most of the apartment, so it's looking good. We wandered around town some more, had some tasty meals and went to a Mother Mother concert on Saturday night. It was a very nice weekend and I wish we had another day! Tell me about your weekend so I can live vicariously through you?

I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

The detailed texture on the dress is gorgeous!
And I've had to learn through trial & error when it comes to my hair. Hahahah
My weekend was filled with kid parties and Chinese food. :3

Hahaha :D Weeeell, our Saturday was pretty basic - did some blog photos and then a lil shopping. Sunday we had a casual beer while we waited to takeout our food home, then watched some UFC.
I love this dress and the fancy hairdo! You look so sophisticated! I have no idea what to do with my hair, wish my mom would do mine :D

I am in love with this dress! Sometimes you just need the right occasion (or even mood!) to debut a pretty little piece like this!

Ah you look lovely! I see what you mean about the fabric too, it has that reptilian look to it, I love it. Really like the way you've styled your hair too, very pretty. - Tasha

I like your pretty, classy and fashionable work look. Your hair and eye-makeup look pretty and I love the Boohoo shift dress. It looks very stylish. Kudos on getting mostly unpacked and organised. Your weekend sounds nice. Most of my weekend (after grocery shopping) I tried relax and say cool. Now it's cooler raining but the green stuff outside is happy. Have a fabulous week!

yay for being able to put your hair up! This dress looks so great and bright on you! So happy for your new apartment! And girl, I feel you, my mom was really skilled at doing hair and I never learned. She gave me fishtails, beautiful braids, cascading curls, and seriously whatever I wanted or needed and I never once thought to learn anything beyond the french braid. Which is probably why I ended up cutting my hair off. Like what am I supposed to do with this?!

Hahaha, I feel you on the mom doing hair--my mom can do these wonderful braids and I missed that SO much during college! I'm so happy for you and your new apartment. You're just growing up so well! :) Hee hee. You hair looks absolutely darling, though, so be proud of little accomplishments like being able to style your own hair, haha. And that dress is wonderful!
