Birthday Outfit: Mushroom Print Dress, Red Tights, & Bronze Shoes

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! I figured I should show you my birthday outfit since that was on Tuesday and therefore still relevant. I didn't really have a plan for a birthday outfit this year but I knew I wanted to wear one of my handmade items. This mushroom print dress hadn't been styled with tights yet so that's what I ended up throwing on. I enjoy the interesting mix of the olive green dress and red tights. It didn't feel like Christmas because of the addition of oranges and yellows in the print and the fact that it's a mushroom print. Mushrooms don't tend to convey images of holiday times. But anyway, this turned out to be a very "me" look. It should be since it was my birthday! I wore a pair of cool red 80s earrings and my comfy bronze sandals since they apparently look good with everything I own. What do you think of my birthday look? dress: handmade | tights: kmart | shoes: korks - shoe carnival | earrings: mom's My birthday pas...

Outfit: Geometric Bodycon Dress, Black Sandals, & Triangle 80s Earrings

Image
Sometimes you just need to throw on a simple outfit without layers when it's super hot outside. Making sure you have a really cool print or color keeps a simple outfit from looking boring. I picked up this scoop back bodycon dress from Forever 21 a few weeks back because the print was different than anything else I had in my wardrobe. I also don't own a lot of bodycon shaped things even though I like that silhouette when I wear it. So here's my new dress styled simply with a pair of new black sandals I got on sale at Modcloth. I threw on a pair of Mom's old 80s earrings for good measure too! dress: forever 21 | shoes: modcloth | earrings: vintage Here's my glamour shot you guys.  I hope you're having a good week! I'm just eagerly anticipating our trip to Las Vegas and trying to get some work done. I know after this upcoming trip I'll have to buckle down and actually get a full time job, but I'm trying to not worry about that until a...

Outfit: Red Fauxhawk, Comic Print Shirt, Blue Shorts, & Yellow Wedge Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I've had this outfit sitting on my computer for too long. You may have seen pictures of my hair styled like this on Instagram, but here are the full outfit pictures now. I felt like doing something different with my hair that day so I asked Mom to make it into a big fauxhawk-like style. I'm a fan of having big and/or bold hair if you haven't figured that out by now. It's also good to mix it up once in a while even if people will say things to you. To go with my crazy hair I wore bold primary colors. This "pow" shirt is a favorite of mine but I can't wear it too often since it's kind of memorable. I paired it with some new blue short shorts that are also incredibly comfortable. Then I added the yellow wedge sandals I got on clearance at Target last year. My ears actually showed the day I wore this so I got to show off a pair of the cool 80s earrings Mom gave me. shirt: papaya | shorts: forever 21 | shoes: target | e...

Outfit: Red Matching Separates with Gold Leaf Earrings and Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I'm so excited to finally show you the new matching set I bought last month. It had a broken zipper but was the only one left in my size so I bought it knowing it needed to be repaired. Mom recently stuck a new zipper in it for me since I'm not a sewing wizard. This set was only about $20 so I consider that a bargain even if it needed a repair.  I can't get enough of matching separates. They're super on trend, highly remixable, and easy to style simply for summer. For the debut of this red and navy blue matching set I added some large gold leaf earrings and my trusty brown clog sandals. I've already worn the skirt on its own and plan on styling the top with different bottoms too. That's the beauty of these sets. Once it's not cool to wear clothes that match perfectly you can wear them separately! As of now I'm enjoying that these sets are in style again. They remind me of the matching separates Mom would make us when we were l...

Pink Leopard Dress, Colorful Keds, and Teal Accents

Image
I really love this pink leopard print dress I got on sale from Modcloth a little while back. I've been consciously trying to style my dresses in more than one way for the blog. I think this is this dress' 4th feature on here! This time I paired some super colorful Keds with it (and ridiculously purple socks). I enjoyed the way my teal makeup and earrings contrasted with the pink in the dress too. Overall a pretty bold, colorful look for class but that's how I roll. dress: modcloth | sunglasses: dollar tree | shoes: keds - ross dress for less | socks: kmart | earrings: thrifted | belt: modcloth Do you guys like my ridiculous sparkly pink sunglasses? I got them from Dollar Tree. Seriously. I've been buying cool sunglasses there for so many years. Sorry this post was up a tiny bit later than usual. Flickr was down when I was trying to schedule my post! At least the oh-so-considerate landscapers woke me up early with leaf blowers right outside...

Rawr!: A Tiger Head Dress from PersunMall

Image
Happy Friday everyone! PersunMall  is sponsoring me this month and kindly sent me this Tiger Head dress . I included it on my wishlist post for them a little bit ago because it was so cool. It's definitely trendy and something I don't already have in my wardrobe. The material is a stretchy knit so it's very comfortable and I don't have to iron it (which is always a bonus when I'm running late). Unfortunately it doesn't fit like I thought it would, though it's still cute. It was supposed to be more of a skater dress look but the waist of the dress hits below my natural waist. I attribute that to my short torso - one of many banes of my existence. Luckily the different fit distinguishes this dress from the many dresses I have that are fitted at my natural waist. I'm looking forward to styling my tiger dress with the jean jacket I thrifted once it gets cool outside. tiger dress: c/o persunmall | shoes: cherokee - target | leaf ring: c/o persunmall...

A Super Colorful Tropical Print Skirt, Yellow Top, & Pink Wedges

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's a very colorful outfit I wore the other day while visiting people in Illinois. I had an idea of not wearing any neutral colors in this outfit and it really worked out in my opinion. I actually wore a version of this before but never put it on the blog. This skirt has one of the best prints in my whole wardrobe. It's so bright and fun! Plus nobody else has one like it since it was handmade by my mom. skirt: handmade | top: forever 21 | shoes: cherokee - target | sunglasses: forever 21 | pink earrings: thrifted | wheel earrings: forever 21 I asked Mom to put my hair up that day and a big bouffant resulted. I usually ask her to make it nice and big. It's glorious. If only Mom could do my hair every day. This is all swirly and pretty and professional. When I do my own hair at school the back is a mess 90% of the time. Which means I just slap a couple bows on it and ta-da! Good enough.  And here is my magazine face pose for y...
