Outfit: Black Star Print Shirt, Corduroy Shorts, and Silver Oxfords

Image
When will it be nice spring weather outside? It's been so gloomy and cold here in Georgia so I guess it's still relevant to show you a wintry almost all black outfit. I don't always wear a lot of color! I wore this for shopping and food with Matt at Ponce City Market a while back. The only new piece here is this black button down shirt with silver stars. I picked it up on sale because I figured it was just different enough while also being super wearable for work. I styled my new top with a pair of faux backseam tights, old old high waisted corduroy shorts from college, and silver oxford shoes from Target. My little western-style belt was thrifted long ago. top, shoes: target | jacket, shorts, tights: forever 21 | belt: thrifted I don't have anything super exciting to blog about here - just the odd outfit here and there, so thank you for sticking around. I've mostly been catching up on and enjoying reading lately, hanging out with my dog and husban...

Christmas Outfit: Green Lace Dress with Gray Leopard Print Heels

Image
Happy holidays to you!! I've been a little absent due to traveling and Christmas shenanigans but I'm finally back to show you what I wore on Christmas 2015. You really can't go wrong with a nice green dress for the holidays so I was very happy when I opened this lace number on Christmas morning. My mom and sister know my style so well! Apparently they got a deal on it at H&M. I enjoy the sheer lace detailing and the neckline. Plus this dark green color contrasts perfectly with my hair. I made the dress even more holiday appropriate with some jeweled back seam tights that I wore during the holidays last year  and a pair of sparkly bow earrings. These dark gray leopard print heels are a new addition to my shoe collection. They were only $10 on clearance. Shoe win! I figured they'd add a fun subtle touch of pattern mixing to this look. So what did you wear for the holidays? I'll be checking out your looks soon but you can tell me all about it too. ...

Outfit: Houndstooth Shorts, Glitter Back Seam Tights, and a Bow Print Shirt

Image
There's just something about houndstooth that really appeals to me. Maybe it's the versatile black and white print or that it looks so perfect paired with red, which is one of my favorite colors to wear. Either way, I keep collecting houndstooth pieces! I bought these houndstooth shorts a year or so ago. I remember trying on a pair but not finding my size in store so I ordered what I assumed would be my size online and they were perfect. Isn't it great when that happens? I'd been missing wearing shorts with tights this season, so here I am again in a shorts and tights outfit. I paired the shorts with my glittery faux back seam tights, a comfy graphic tee with a striped red bow on it, studded black loafers, and my trusty leather jacket. There's a lot of red, white, and black going on here - a favorite color combination of mine in winter even though it's not quite winter yet. jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | top, shorts, tights: fo...

Holiday Outfit: Blue Lattice Print Dress, Rhinestone Back Seam Tights, and Rose Gold Heels

Image
Happy Monday and happy first full week of 2015! This is yet another holiday outfit I wore recently. I picked up this All About the Ambiance dress from Modcloth during one of their sales around Black Friday. I always appreciate the buyer reviews on their website because it makes getting the right size so much easier. Somebody with my exact waist size said this one ran small and to get the medium, I did. And guess what? It fits like a glove! I love the extra pleats and volume at the hips on this dress. It's one of those details that works perfectly for people who have absolutely no hips/butt. I sometimes describe my body shape as "boobs on a board" and that definitely isn't an enviable description. Fit and flare dresses give me a better hourglass shape by balancing out my boobs with my bottom half. They work the same way with people who have plenty of junk in their trunk too, which is kind of magical. The pleats on this one add a little extra though, which is ultra ...

Valentine's Day Outfit: Red Dress, Leopard Print Cardigan, Backseam Tights, & Sparkly Gold Loafers

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's what I actually wore on Valentine's Day and is another outfit featuring my new short 'do. This outfit wasn't planned in advance and was thrown together that morning, but I think it turned out very festive! I went with traditional red for the holiday and wore this red Modcloth dress with a peter pan collar. I always enjoy wearing this dress because I think it's really flattering on me. I may love it even more with my short hair. Anyway, I decided I needed a little bit of leopard print too and threw on this short sleeved cardigan. Leopard and red scream Valentine's Day to me, but maybe that's just me. I also went all out with the heart accessories and matched my gold sparkly loafers to all of my gold heart jewelry.  dress: modcloth | cardigan: forever 21 | tights: macy's | shoes: xhileration - target | belt: thrifted | heart ring: forever 21 | heart necklace & earrings: gift from Matt Here's the offen...

Burgundy Leather Jacket & a Leopard Print Dress

Image
I love this leopard print dress! I bought it with some Boohoo.com credits won on a Broke and Beautiful giveaway. These black ankle boots were part of that purchase too. I've been getting plenty of wear out of my boots and plan on wearing this leopard print dress many many more times. I may even wear it for Thanksgiving since it's nice and comfortable while still being incredibly cute. This time I paired it with my $15 burgundy faux leather jacket from Forever 21 and a pair of classic black back seam nylons. This is definitely one of my favorite outfits I've recently worn. leopard dress: boohoo | jacket: forever 21 | nylons: macy's | boots: boohoo | belt: thrifted I hope you guys are having a great Monday!

Blue Lace Dress for a Valentine Date Night

Image
Happy Friday! I'm excited to share this outfit with you because I loved it so much. I wore this on Wednesday night for Matt and my Valentine date. I enjoy getting all dressed up, so I took my sweet time curling my hair and perfecting my makeup when I had the chance. I was saving my new Modcloth dress for this occasion too. It always feels good to wear a new dress! oh so quiet dress : modcloth | scalloped suede heels: daisy fuentes - kohl's? | backseam nylons: macy's | necklace: gift from Matt | belt: came with a forever 21 skirt  Heart nails were a necessary addition to a Valentine outfit. lipstick: wet n wild megalast - stoplight red Backseam tights! Finally! I got them over winter break at Macy's and they didn't break my bank account. I think Matt liked them too which is always a plus.  I can't wait to wear this dress again. It'll probably be in a more casual way next time, but I think I can make that work. Th...
