Work Outfit: Blue Lace Romper with White Pointed Flats and a Blazer

Image
Happy Monday! I wore this new blue lace romper to work a little while back and I figured it's about time I showed you guys. It's a comfortable lace material and has a zipper down the back so it's a convenient kind of romper! Have you ever tried to get out of one that has buttons in the back? No thanks. I paired it with a classic black blazer and a pair of white pointed flats I got on clearance on Forever 21's website.  This is the outfit I wore when I got my headshots done for work. I figured the cobalt blue shade would compliment my hair and eyes for picture day! I don't think anybody can go wrong with a color like this though. It looks great on everyone.  blazer & romper: new york & company | shoes: forever 21 | necklace: stella & dot So have you ever worn a romper to work? This one is long enough and loose enough that I think it's appropriate for a business casual environment. Everyone at work thought it was a dress most of the ...

Leopard Print Blouse, Maroon Skater Skirt, & Retro Makeup

Image
Hello and happy Monday everyone! I can't believe it's already Monday. Where did the weekend go? I guess I spent most of mine at band or trying to get a good amount of rest. Too bad I roll over onto my newly pierced ear about every hour.  Anyway, I wore this on Friday. I told you I'd have one more maroon skirt outfit and here it is! I promise next time I'll wear something else. My leopard print top looked so perfect with this skirt though! Too bad I only went to see a movie in this outfit. I ended up curling my hair after these pictures were taken, but there's only instagram proof of it. Next time I curl it maybe it'll end up in the outfit pictures!  leopard print silk top: thrifted | maroon skater skirt: h&m | tights: forever 21 | patent leather flats: thrifted vintage Hey look it's my face! I was watching a bunch of pin curl tutorials on YouTube this day and everyone had pretty retro makeup on, so I had to go with the cat-eye liner an...

Bow Tights & Pink and Purple Plaid in a Mostly Thrifted Outfit

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was mostly spent feeling overwhelmed about my phone surveys, but luckily I finished them up early on Sunday afternoon so I got to go to an Athens blogger meet up! I took only a couple pictures, but I'll probably post them tomorrow. I wore this outfit to class today. It's nearly all thrifted which always makes me feel good. Does anyone else feel like a thrifting wizard when they wear a mostly thrifted outfit? I sure do! A wizard of savings. top, skirt, shoes: thrifted | tights: forever 21 | jacket: ross dress for less | belt: old from Mom | necklace: stella & dot This skirt is one of my favorite thrifted pencil skirts. I just think it's really unique with the bright pink and purple plaid. When I bought it I must have put on a little weight in the waist because I had the outer side button moved to give me more room. Now I can wear it at its original placement though. The only thing is, the oute...

Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Image
Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give! Oh well, it looks cool. skirt, top, shoes: thrifted | tights, earrings, hair bow: forever21.com  I got to pull out my bag of long-sleeved tops and sweaters and such today. It's finally cool in the morning so the extra arm covering was welcome. Plus it was almost like Christmas getting to pull out my warm-weather-only clothes after all this time!  I always love when I real...

Vintage Concert Shirt, Leopard Print Skirt, & Patent Leather 60's Flats

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I was feeling like wearing leopard print today (when am I not feeling like that?) and realized I don't have a leopard print skirt here. Then I saw my high-low dress from Target that I wore in this post and figured I could just wear it as a skirt! And so this outfit was born. A mix of leopard print, an old Rainbow concert t-shirt, and my 60's patent leather bow flats. dress worn as skirt: xhileration - target | t-shirt: old concert shirt from Dad | cardigan: so... - kohls | shoes: vintage - thrifted | belt: thrifted | earrings: charming charlie | hair bow: h&m Well I hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't return, but I'll probably update because Sunday is my birthday! Wooo me! Woo birthday! Actually I'm pretty sure I'm not doing much, but I may go downtown tomorrow night and party it up and I'm definitely doing dinner with the family on Sunday which should be delicious. It's not as exciting o...

Happy First Blogiversary!

Image
I can't believe I've been blogging for a year. It's been a fun hobby to keep up and I've enjoyed the interaction with the blogging community. You're all good people! I hope to improve my pictures and perhaps share more of my life on here in the next year!  dress, necklace: Romwe.com belt, shoes: thrifted sunglasses, flower hair clip: forever 21 How do you like my new collar necklace? I like it! It's different than any other necklace I have. I'm trying to think of other things to pair it with though. Vintage bow flats & cat eye liner. This spinning picture is one of my new favorites. My new polka dot dress has a good amount of spinny-ness for every day, I think! Happy happy Monday!

Instagrams #2

Why is the weekend almost over? Oh well. I only have one day of class next week plus finals. Instagram time! 1. The day I drank tea and did crosswords/sudoku all day after class 6. Newspaper print nails 1. Glasses day because I dropped my contacts in the sink. oops. 2. Vintage shoes + red tights 3. My late 60's inspired outfit for my presentation - for everyone who asked, it went well! 4. A beautiful day on campus before it decided to be 90 degrees every day 5. Bouffant win 6. Good Food block party downtown yesterday - eating a vanilla pear popsicle I hope everyone had/is having a nice weekend!

A Bit 60's-tastic

Image
This outfit is actually from this very day! Surprise! I had a presentation about media in the Vietnam War era so I figured a late 60's-inspired outfit would be appropriate. I tend to be like, "yeah inspiration from a certain era!" and then I end up in a costume. But I liked this outfit very much and I especially liked that I could wear tights in late April. skirt, belt: thrifted blouse: delia*s cardigan: so...; kohls tights: kmart shoes: vintage; thrifted scarf: really a belt from a pair of forever 21 shorts I went with the cat eye liner that I like to do, but I just played up my eyes more with shadows and whatnot. Then I had to have a nude lip, of course!  I thrifted my vintage shoes over spring break for something like $3.50. They're even real leather.  Now that I've procrastinated by blogging, I have to get started on actual school work. It's my last full week of classes. Sad. Except not really because I'm ...
