Work Outfit: Purple Skater Skirt and Leopard Print Flats

Image
Long time no blog! I didn't realize it had been so long but life has been busy, including my weekends with Dragon Con last week and working on a new hairdo this weekend - more on that later. So it's definitely time to show you a new outfit and what better than to show you some new shoes?  These leopard print flats are from Target and you may still be able to find them. They also come in black. I love that they zip up the back so I don't have to fasten three buckles and so far they're really comfy. Definitely contenders in my "what shoes do I bring to Europe?" quandary. They go with pretty much everything too. This time I paired them with a new purple skater skirt from Boohoo. I enjoy wearing all colors, but don't have nearly enough purple in my wardrobe so I thought it was a good addition. Plus it's long enough to be work appropriate. The black top is very old from Forever 21. Like early college old. I still like it. top: forever 21 | sk...

Outfit: Vintage Floral Skirt, Black Lace Top, Silver Triangle Necklace, & Pink Sandals

Image
This vintage floral skirt is one of my favorites. The colors are fantastic and pair so nicely with a lot of other colors. This time I paired it with some slightly edgy pieces to contrast with the super girly print. This black lace top from H&M goes with pretty much everything, but it's a crop top so it can be hard to keep tucked in to a skirt like this which isn't entirely tight around my waist. I added a brand new silver triangle necklace I bought from a Modcloth sale and some pink sandals I'm pretty sure I've had since high school. top: h&m | skirt: thrifted | shoe: ross | necklace: modcloth As of tonight I'm officially on my labor day weekend. I'm super pumped about it because not only do I have 2 days off work but I'm going to Dragon Con again! So be prepared for some costume goodness again this year. Outfit & Giveway: JORD Wood Watch, Olive Sweater, Leopard Skater Skirt, Clogs, and a Beret

Image
Today I'm very excited to introduce you to a unique and unconventional watch brand! JORD is a Missouri company that specializes in fashionable, hand-crafted  wood watches . I know wearing a watch isn't necessary for telling the time now that we all carry around cell phones, but making a watch a focal accessory is definitely something I can get on board with. The kind people over at JORD gifted me with their two-toned Sully watch in cherry & maple. The watch I chose is a bit oversized for a girl of my stature, but I wanted it to be a bold accessory. Since the holiday season is upon us, a JORD timepiece would make an awesome present for the stylish person in your life. I like that these watches aren't the typical dainty girly watch you usually see. Their Ely watch is a little smaller for those of you looking for a more understated timepiece though. Most of them are very unisex which I think is pretty fantastic. I can share my watch with my boyfriend! Another bonus: JOR...

Jean Jacket, Floral Shoes, & a Blue Lace Crop Top over a Black Jersey Knit Dress

Image
Happy Friday! This was a comfortable outfit I wore about a week ago. I bought this blue crochet lace crop top on clearance about a year ago and thought I'd wear it with everything. However that did not happen so I felt compelled to actually style it the other day. I threw it over one of my comfiest dresses that I actually wear a lot but don't photograph often. I'm not sure this dress has ever been on the blog, but I know its maroon twin has been! I call them my pajama dresses. They're that comfortable. I figured this crop top would mix up this dress a little bit. I threw on my jean jacket and some floral heels for a spring-y vibe. Also, is it just me or is my hair looking particularly awesome with warm-weather outfits? Maybe its the novelty of it, but I'm loving it. top: delia's | dress: forever 21 | shoes: delia's | jacket: so... - thrifted | bracelet: jigsaw london In other news, I passed my comprehensive exams! Leopard Peplum Skirt, Black Lace Top, Red Cardigan, Lace Tights, & Ankle Boots

Image
I rarely wear skirts with this shape, but something about the leopard print and peplum on this skirt made me buy it. It's not that I'm self conscious about my bottom half. It's just that I have a smallish butt/zero hips with decent sized boobs so a flared skirt tends to balance me out. Sometimes I just don't care though. This outfit felt balanced and I definitely think the peplum on the skirt helps. Plus you can't go wrong with black, red, & leopard print. Sorry for the short post, but it's super late as I'm scheduling this and there were really only a couple decent pictures of this outfit. Sometimes that happens, but I still wanted to share it with you guys because I really liked this outfit! skirt, tights, cardigan: forever 21 | top: h&m | boots: boohoo I hope you guys are having a happy Monday! I'll be having a busy one, as usual. Still looking forward to June. If I had a time skipper that would be great, thanks! Happy Mond...

Pinafore & Black Lace

Image
I wore this last week before I visited Virginia. I bought this pinafore last year and now they're "in" again, so that's good. I paired it with my black lace crop top and a pair of floral wedges that I don't wear often enough. There's also a tiny bit of an "arm party" going on. Aren't I so trendy? Yeah. pinafore dress: forever 21 | black lace top: h&m | wedges: ross dress for less | floral hair clip: forever 21 | pearl bracelet & earrings: gift | watch: great grandma collection | spiked bracelet: jigsaw london Bright purple-y lipstick! Thanks for the kind comments recently. I promise I'll get caught up on your blogs soon. This week threw life out of wack, but I'm hoping to get back to normal soon. It's a weird feeling to not want to do anything at all. I picked up my library books again yesterday and went out shopping too so that's a start. Have a great weekend!

Floral Romper, Lace Top, & Holographic Flats

Image
I bought this romper from Target last year and I think it's so cute, but it was time to remix it in a new way. So I layered my relatively new black lace top underneath it! I thought the double prints worked and it covered me up on top a bit more since this romper is extremely leg-tastic. romper: xhileration - target | lace top: h&m | hologram flats: forever 21 | ring: forever 21 Sometimes you have to come up with unique poses to show off various accessories.  This is the first time in a while that I've had a decent amount of outfits photographed ahead of time! I know my posts haven't been super exciting lately, but I'm very excited about a couple of the outfits I wore last week. They'll be posted soon! I hope you guys like them too! Happy Wednesday!

Backless Cat Print Dress over a Lace Polka Dot Blouse

Image
It's already Monday again! Last week went by so quickly. I wore this outfit for running errands and shopping. A former style blogger, Kate, sent me this awesome cat print dress because she was cleaning out her closet. I'm pretty pumped about the evil cat print on it and the low v-back. (The cat print is evil because some of them have little red eyes!) Sometimes low backs like these are a pain, but I made the dress work with a regular bra by layering a sheer blouse underneath. It also added a little bit of print mixing! dress: modcloth | blouse: kohl's | shoes: bongo - kmart | earrings: gift from Matt | red hair bows: forever 21 I plan on spending a lot of this week reading the massive amount of library books I checked out on Friday. It will be most enjoyable! Happy Monday!

Dotted Dress, Lace Top, & a Red Blazer

Image
This red blazer always reminds me of a ring master or something involving a circus. It was a fantastic thrift find because it fits me perfectly. I forgot to wear it very much this past winter, but I'm sure it'll be in my wardrobe for a while. I wore it to class with a new polka dot dress and lace crop top. You'll probably be seeing plenty of both the new dress and top in the next couple months! red blazer: ralph lauren - thrifted | lace top: h&m | polka dot dress, hair bow: forever 21 | boots: xhileration - target It was really windy! Sorry I don't have anything very interesting to say right now, but I'm exhausted and just trying to get this post scheduled! It's crap not having the energy to enjoy blogging right this minute, but I'm sure once this week is done I'll feel better. I'm still in Washington doing my bandly duties and stressing out about getting my school work done for my Tuesday classes. So much to do and ...
