Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Image
Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible . They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon! The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I...

Outfit: Red and Green Plaid Dress, Faux Leather Jacket, Gray Tights, and Cat Eye Glasses

Image
Saint Patrick's day is kind of a big deal in my family and I tend to celebrate all week long, wearing as much green as possible. I do own a lot of green clothes. Unfortunately this isn't what I'm wearing today but it fits the green theme somewhat, so it'll be my St. Pat's post this year! I'm wearing a shamrock necklace so it works, right? I originally bought this green, red, and blue plaid dress from Modcloth for Christmas but it ended up being much too large in the bodice area, which is a struggle I often have with dresses fitted at the waist. The back was buckling out from too much fabric so my mom altered it for me by taking up the shoulders and now it fits perfectly! Clearly it didn't end up being a holiday dress but maybe this year it will be. For now I styled it with my faux leather jacket, some gray tights, and lace-up ankle boots. I was rocking my cat eye glasses because my eyes were bothering me too. dress : modcloth | jacket: ashley ...

Outfit: Plaid Winter Coat, Black Lace Dress, Bright Blue Tights, and White Polka Dot Boots

Image
I wore this outfit a couple months ago and really wasn't a fan of how it ended up looking in pictures so I waited to share it. Sometimes I put on an outfit, think it looks awesome, and then look at photos later and go, "I look nuts." This was one of those times. Luckily I kind of like how crazy it looks now with the mix of polka dots and my blue plaid coat. I have the pictures so why not share it? Someone may be inspired by it! Maybe I would like these pictures better without my coat, but it was cold out so it was included! This is the first time this coat has been on the blog but it was a new purchase for this winter. I got it on sale at Target. It has a great tie waist so I've been enjoying wearing it with some skinny jeans and flats for walks with Riker. It looks like I put effort into an outfit even when I'm being lazy.  The rest of my outfit was pretty simple. A black lace dress, some incredibly bright blue tights, and my white chunky polka dot bo...

Outfit: Argyle Sweater, Black Skater Skirt, and Red Tights

Image
There are quite a few outfits backlogged from last year that I have to show you in the new year so I hope you don't mind! Argyle always screams "holiday time" to me but I still enjoy styling this sweater in the early months of the year. It could definitely be part of a Valentine's Day-inspired look too. Plus red and black is a classic combination year round.  This outfit included a new black skater skirt I ordered from an Old Navy sale. I got the regular version instead of the petite one since reviews said the petite one was a little short. Honestly, I think an inch or so off the length would be fine for me. I like to wear flats pretty often and longer skirts look better with heels. Not that this skirt is long by any means. In these pictures it looks like a decent length but I'm wearing heels. It's also a tiny bit big in the waist but that can be fixed! Either way it's a good basic piece to have around, which is why I bought it. For it's first ...

Outfit: Black and White Plaid Dress with Purple Tights

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm excited to show you this new black & white plaid dress I bought from Modcloth with the credits I won last month for sharing a holiday outfit! I'm always so happy when I open a package and everything fits perfectly. I may have been able to size down on this but it's extra comfy because nothing is snug, which means I'll probably be able to wear it for many years. I wore this outfit to Matt's work holiday party last week. The dress has a perfect retro shape and it's actually very comfortable because the fabric is slightly stretchy. It also has a neat texture and heft to it which makes it a perfect choice in winter (especially our generally mild Georgia winters). For its debut I paired it with some dark purple tights and my trusty lace-up ankle boots. A woman at the party gave me a compliment on my colorful tights so I think they were a good choice. grazioso long farewell dress : modcloth | tights: kmart | boots: xhilerat...

Outfit: Purple Sweater, Maroon Skater Skirt, and Polka Dot Boots

Image
Happy Friday! I think this is my last set of pictures taken last year. I wore this a couple times because I really liked the color combination. I wore it on a shopping trip to the mall and got all kinds of compliments. I think people especially liked my super cool polka dot boots. I don't blame them. They're pretty fantastic. This was actually a very warm outfit despite the short skirt. Any time I wear this purple cashmere sweater I stay toasty. It's probably my warmest sweater and definitely one of my favorite thrift finds. I layered a button down crop top underneath for some extra pattern and warmth. My maroon skater skirt is a trusty staple in my wardrobe and I think it looks just as nice paired with a similar color as it does with a contrasting yellow shade . What do you think? Do you ever pair similar colors? sweater: ann taylor - thrifted | button down top: forever 21 | skirt: h&m | tights: walmart | boots: boohoo I can't believe it's alread...

New Year's Eve Outfit: Black Sequined Dress, Blue Tights, and Polka Dot Boots

Image
Happy 2015! This incredibly sparkly ensemble was my New Year's Eve outfit. Is there a better time to wear a dress completely covered in sequins? I actually wore this same dress for Christmas Eve with red tights and blue shoes too, but never got a full picture of it. For New Year's Eve I styled my new dress with my ultra cool and quirky polka dot boots and a pair of super bright blue tights. I figured I may as well play up the loudness of the dress with bold accessories! You may have also seen me wearing this dress in the Delia's dressing room on my Instagram page , but if not here it is! This black sequined dress was my last purchase at the now-closing Delia's. During a trip to the mall before they were closing, I'd gazed at this dress from afar but willed myself to keep moving along. Then everything was on super sale after they announced the bankruptcy and closing, so during another mall trip I was sucked into the store to try it on. Obviously it fit, I got a gr...

Outfit: Star Trek Skirt, Black Mock Neck Sweater, and Red Tights

Image
This is one of my favorite outfits in a long time. In fact, I enjoyed wearing it so much I packed it up to come with me while visiting family! Sometimes I like to pack outfits I've already worn and know look good. That way I don't have to come up with an entire trip's worth of new outfits in one night. There can only be so much outfit creativity in one day! Anyway, I wore this on a regular old day. I'd been meaning to wear my Star Trek skirt with red tights and finally got around to it. I have a feeling many other colorful tights will look fantastic with this skirt too! I enjoyed how great all the black pieces in this outfit looked with the colorful tights and skirt. Since breaking out my box full of sweaters I have so many more shirt options. This black mock turtleneck sweater is a favorite thrifted last year. It was a little bit toasty the day I wore this though. I've been searching for a regular t-shirt version of this top for weeks. It would be a little less ...

Outfit: Gold Sequined Crop Top, Red Pencil Skirt, and Black Ankle Boots

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I wore this fairly holiday-tastic outfit to an informal dinner party the other week. This sequined top is a recent purchase because I couldn't resist its shininess (and the fact that it's a crop top which means it'll fit like a normal shirt). Everyone thought I looked like I was going to a Christmas party but I really just enjoy gold with red. I love that I can get away with as many sparkly items as I see fit at this time of year though! For this shirt's sequin-y debut I paired it with a trusty red wool pencil skirt I thrifted many years ago. This skirt is a standby during the winter months. Though it's perfectly snug around my waist so it's not the best choice when gorging on holiday meals. I've made it work though. It's nothing a little stealthy unbuttoning can't fix if I end up eating a few too many pierogies and produce a food baby. Anyway, maybe this outfit will give you some holiday inspiration. It was warm so I did...
