Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Top, and Heart Tights

Image
If you're looking at these pictures and going, "hey those look almost a year old!" then you would be correct! For whatever reason this outfit from December never ended up on the blog (but a similar look did back in March .) My hair is almost this color again right now though! Full circle. I wanted it very similar to this color and length for my wedding in November so I'm glad. I wish it was cold enough outside to wear tights, corduroy, and my leather jacket like it was in these pictures, but instead it's humid and rainy here in Georgia since it's still August. And so it shall remain until November. I really do like this combination of the dark green skirt with leopard print and tiny, almost-dots heart print. What do you think?  These pictures were taken in Illinois while cleaning out my Great Grandma's house. My sister and I were hanging around while our dad and grandpa were picking up some stuff.  Unfortunately I don't have anythin...

Outfit: Turquoise Leopard Turtleneck Dress and Black Block Heel Sandals

Image
Long time, no blog! Did I say that last time? Well I finally have a new outfit to show you! I'm always trying, but sometimes failing, to fit blogging into my ridiculous schedule. Luckily there are some changes on the horizon that may make it easier to get back into blogging! About this outfit: I picked up this super cool teal leopard mock turtleneck dress in the clearance racks at Forever 21. You really never know what you'll find in there. There was a more neutral-colored version too, but I went with a weird leopard color since I already have quite a few "normal" leopard print dresses. (Can you really ever have too many leopard dresses?) My silver tassel necklace was a Christmas gift from my Mom because I desperately needed some statement necklaces for some of the plainer dresses I've been wearing to work. Sometimes I just want to throw on a t-shirt dress - with a cool necklace - and call it a day. It's rough getting up before the sun is up! My bla...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Image
Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible . They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon! The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I...

Outfit: Metallic Leopard Print Skirt, Faux Choker Top, and Red Wedges

Image
Just in time for Valentine's Day, here's a very Valentine-ish outfit to share with you! Because leopard print and red is automatically a Valentine's Day look in my mind. I actually wore this at Matt and my engagement party earlier this month so it's fitting to share it now. I had no idea what to wear that day and just threw this together a couple hours before. Most of it is new from a little bit of a shopping spree I had while looking for outfits for our engagement pictures.  This choker top from H&M is pretty trendy right now but I picked it up because it's both trendy and would match with a lot of different bottoms. The metallic leopard skirt was originally meant to be for our engagement pictures but I decided to go with another outfit, so this was its debut instead. Can you really ever have too many leopard print skirts? I say no. And my bright red wedges were a clearance find from over the summer. All a grand combination for a Valentine look! t...

Outfit: Leopard Button Down, Green Corduroy Skirt, and Chelsea Boots

Good morning (or afternoon or evening) to you! In my vacation picture editing extravaganza that happened last week, I found yet another set of pictures that would make a perfect outfit post. These pictures were taken at Windmill Bonne Chiere in the morning of our last day in Bruges, Belgium. I made seeing at least one windmill a priority on this trip since I'd missed out on them the first time I went to Bruges when I was a kid. After the tourists in the back of some of these photos left, Matt and I had the windmill all to ourselves so we could climb up on the stairs and get some fun pictures while taking in the view. (Sorry no pictures taken from up there. I wasn't about to drop and break my camera in the middle of our trip. Those stairs were steep!) This windmill is an open trestle post mill . It was built on a post so it could be turned to meet the wind and, since it's large enough to not blow over every time there's strong wind, the post wasn't buried - hen...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Red Scarf, and Leopard Print Flats

Happy New Year! Usually I have a roundup outfit post to start the new year but with busy holiday traveling that may have to wait until later. Since our trip to Europe was by far the highlight of 2016, I figured I'd show you another outfit I wore over there. This is what I wore on our first full day of exploring Prague. The pictures we took on Charles Bridge at dawn are some of my absolute favorite from the whole trip. It was amazingly crowd-free being there that early in the morning!  At this point in the trip my faux leather jacket wasn't quite cutting it with the cool weather and this day was especially windy up at the castle! Other than that I was pretty pleased with the pieces I picked to bring with and was able to remix them in a lot of different ways so I wasn't wearing the same outfit for 2.5 weeks. This look was a favorite of mine with the green button down corduroy skirt, leopard print flats from Target, and red dog print scarf. jacket: ashley by twe...

Outfit: Blue Tights, Maroon Skirt, Leather Jacket, and Leopard Flats

Image
I wear this skirt a lot.  It's the perfect skater skirt length, a slightly heavy material so it doesn't blow up in the wind too easily, and an extremely versatile maroon color. I styled it in my last outfit post too, but I hope you don't mind!  I spent a good amount of the weekend sorting through and editing my pictures from my trip to Europe and picked out a few of this outfit I wore in Bruges. I loved the way the blue tights and maroon skirt photographed together, especially when paired with my leopard print flats from Target! I topped everything off with my faux leather jacket which is on top of a gray mock turtleneck shirt that you can barely see here. It was too cold to walk around jacket-less! My Jo Totes bag here, the Abby model in black, was purchased new for the trip and was the absolute perfect size for traveling Europe. I needed something not too big to be burdensome while wandering around but that could still fit the essentials. I fit my camera ...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Mock Turtleneck, and Gray Leopard Print Heels

Hey! It's me again. I still exist. This is the longest I've gone without blogging since I started this blog in 2011, but I'm going to give myself an excuse since I was out of the country for more than two weeks. It's been very hard for me to find time to blog after work with my commute too and unfortunately that probably won't change for a bit longer. I'm back to share a warm weather fall outfit with you though! Before heading off to Europe, I decided to treat it like back to school wardrobe shopping and pick up a few new things that would be easily remixable. I found this dark green corduroy skirt and gray mock turtleneck top at H&M and wore them each multiple times throughout the trip. They're just good basic pieces to have in general. This is a look I put together the week before I left which included some fun accessories to spice it up - my gray leopard print heels and a Cat Scully pin by Danielle V Green .  top, skirt: h&m | shoes: so...

Work Outfit: Purple Skater Skirt and Leopard Print Flats

Image
Long time no blog! I didn't realize it had been so long but life has been busy, including my weekends with Dragon Con last week and working on a new hairdo this weekend - more on that later. So it's definitely time to show you a new outfit and what better than to show you some new shoes?  These leopard print flats are from Target and you may still be able to find them. They also come in black. I love that they zip up the back so I don't have to fasten three buckles and so far they're really comfy. Definitely contenders in my "what shoes do I bring to Europe?" quandary. They go with pretty much everything too. This time I paired them with a new purple skater skirt from Boohoo. I enjoy wearing all colors, but don't have nearly enough purple in my wardrobe so I thought it was a good addition. Plus it's long enough to be work appropriate. The black top is very old from Forever 21. Like early college old. I still like it. top: forever 21 | sk...

Outfit: Cat Print Tank Top and a Leopard Print Skater Skirt

Image
I don't wear mixed prints as much as I used to so I was pretty excited when I paired these pieces together the other day. Something about the almost geometric cat print paired with the neutral leopard print worked very well. I was also a fan of all the neutrals and bronzey goodness going on in this look. Very summery! Plus my lipstick pretty much matched the color of my sandals. (BTW it's Zebra Ultra Metallic Lip by Colourpop and is still in stock as this is being published.) It can be hard to mix up your outfits when it's hot outside so trying out different print combinations is a good way to get different looks out of your summer pieces. Plus makeup. You can always just try out a bold lip color or some ultra colorful eye shadow to change things up too. I know lighter makeup is often the thing for summer, but wearing lipstick is much lighter than wearing an extra clothing layer, after all. What do you do to change things up when it's scorching outside? ...
