2016 Outfits Recap: Favorites from July through December

Image
It's time to finish up my 2016 outfit recap with some of my favorite from the last half of last year! Looking at these, I realize I was wearing a crap load of skater skirts, and for the repetition, I apologize. My wardrobe is largely in storage and the separates are a way to keep from wearing the same thing over and over, which is why you saw fewer dresses toward the end of last year. You'll also see my transition from bright red hair to light blonde in these photos. As always, click the numbers underneath the pictures to see the full post! One | Two | Three Four | Five | Six Seven | Eight | Nine Ten | Eleven | Twelve Thirteen | Fourteen | Fifteen The first half of 2016 was much better - on the whole - than the second half. Especially with regard to the blog. I apologize if I've bored you a little with my slow-down in posts and similar silhouettes, but that's what I've been wearing lately and my free time is at an all-time low....

2016 Outfits Recap: Favorites from January through June

Image
Happy Sunday to you and welcome to part one of my 2016 outfit recap! I enjoy doing these recap posts each year because I get to look back on what I wore and see how things have changed throughout the year. I hope enjoy or at least don't mind taking a look back at some of my favorite things I've worn in the past year! As always, as you scroll through you can see the full post by clicking on the number underneath. One | Two | Three Four | Five | Six Seven | Eight | Nine Ten | Eleven | Twelve Thirteen | Fourteen | Fifteen Sixteen | Seventeen | Eighteen Nineteen | Twenty | Twenty-one Honestly, looking back, I'm just amazed at the amount of outfits I was able to post last year and it's hard remembering how good things were in the first half of 2016. We were in our own place with our dog and work was going well for both of us. In May, we'd found a bigger and cheaper place to live and were planning on moving down the s...

2015 Outfits Recap: Favorites from July through December

Image
I'm back for round two of my 2015 favorite outfits roundup! I can hear your cheers. These are my top picks so you may have another favorite; if you do, let me know! This final installment of my 2015 roundup includes outfits from summer to the end of the year. I would wear all of these again in an instant!  The first six or so looks are from this past summer and you'll notice a lot of nautical influence, which is pretty routine for me. What can I say? I enjoy a good mix of navy blue and red. The next seven through 18 are fall looks which tends to be my favorite season for dressing. It seems my main color scheme shifted a bit toward black and maroon in fall 2015. The last three are definitely holiday looks. Feel free to click through to see more pictures of each. I think this post gives a good overview of what my style is in case you're stopping by for the first time. one | two | three four | five | six seven | eight | nine ten | eleven | twelve t...

New Year's Eve Outfit: Black Turtleneck, Gold Sequined Skater Skirt, and Dotted Tights

Image
It's the new year! Before doing a roundup of 2015 I thought I'd show you what I wore on New Year's Eve yesterday while it's still slightly relevant. (Even though the holiday is over, I'm still looking forward to seeing what you all wore.) Again, I ask: why aren't sequins a-okay all year? Or at least through the rest of the winter months which kind of suck? I spotted this gold sparkly skirt at my last trip to Target and couldn't let it go. It was the last one left and in my size so I snatched it up! I already own a blue-green sequined skirt but it's okay to have two sequined skirts in one wardrobe, right? Just agree with me. I styled this incredibly sparkly skirt with a neutral color palate. Metallics and black always scream of New Year's Eve to me. For a little extra fun I added polka dot tights and a super cool beetle pin I thrifted. I also added a thin black turtleneck because it looks good with everything. top: boohoo | skirt:...

New Year's Eve Outfit: Black Sequined Dress, Blue Tights, and Polka Dot Boots

Image
Happy 2015! This incredibly sparkly ensemble was my New Year's Eve outfit. Is there a better time to wear a dress completely covered in sequins? I actually wore this same dress for Christmas Eve with red tights and blue shoes too, but never got a full picture of it. For New Year's Eve I styled my new dress with my ultra cool and quirky polka dot boots and a pair of super bright blue tights. I figured I may as well play up the loudness of the dress with bold accessories! You may have also seen me wearing this dress in the Delia's dressing room on my Instagram page , but if not here it is! This black sequined dress was my last purchase at the now-closing Delia's. During a trip to the mall before they were closing, I'd gazed at this dress from afar but willed myself to keep moving along. Then everything was on super sale after they announced the bankruptcy and closing, so during another mall trip I was sucked into the store to try it on. Obviously it fit, I got a gr...

2014 Outfits Recap: September - December

Image
We've come to the end of my 2014 outfits recap! I can hear you all rejoicing! (See part one and part two .) This part is basically everything from Labor Day weekend at Dragon Con to now. There'll be a couple outfits worn in 2014 posted in early January 2015 but this is mostly it. I had a lot of favorite outfits show up in this part of the recap. Maybe that's just because they're really recent and fresh in my mind though. My Star Trek matching set in seventy-six and then just the skirt in one hundred six definitely made some all-time favorite looks. Eighty-five was a comfy outfit but I'm still really drawn to the mix of mustard yellow and khaki green jeans. Outfits ninety-two and ninety-nine turned out to be what I'd consider perfect fall outfits. I hope some of these give you inspiration to come up with a look you haven't worn before. The new year is around the corner and I hope you wear whatever fantastic outfits you want to wear! Life is too short to ...

2014 Outfits Recap: May - August

Image
It's time for part two of my 2014 outfit recap! You can check out part one here . This part contains basically all of my summer outfits so if you're feeling cold maybe they'll remind you of warmer times. I still highly prefer dressing for cool weather but I had quite a few fun outfits worn in the heat. Thirty-nine is one of my favorites because of its comfy-ness and fun polka dot tights. Fourty-two was my grad school graduation outfit wearing a super pretty Mrs. Pomeranz dress . I tried out my blue Nyx lipstick in Fourty-nine and still can't stop staring at how awesome it looks whenever I come across that picture. I took some really pretty golden hour pictures in fifty-eight's post and sixty-seven features a handmade martini print dress I wore in Las Vegas. Overall, I think 2014 represented a valiant effort dressing for the Georgia heat! This post is pretty picture heavy so click through to see all of the looks. Let me know what your favorites are from this set!...

2014 Outfits Recap: January - April

Happy happy Tuesday! It's nearly the new year so it's time to make those delightfully long recap posts of 95% of my outfits from the year. These recaps are a little time consuming to make but I enjoy seeing all the looks I put together and I hope you do too. Plus this year I got to see the changing lengths of my hair. I really enjoy having my hair short and these pictures are making me want to cut it shorter again. It'll happen someday. But anyway, I hope these posts help you get some inspiration for your style in the upcoming year! Click the numbers underneath to see the whole post and stay tuned for the rest of the roundup the next couple days.
