Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Image
Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible . They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon! The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I...

Outfit: Sleeveless Black Dress over a Plaid Shirt, Herringbone Tights, and Bronze Shoes

Image
I realized there was something familiar about this outfit a couple hours into wearing it. Last March I wore this dress layered over a button down top with these exact same tights! Sure, the button down was cat print last time , but there's still a distinct similarity going on. Either way, I enjoyed how this outfit turned out. I layered a new plaid shirt from H&M under my little sleeveless black dress. This dress is worn with tops layered underneath way more often than not. It just works so perfectly as a sort of jumper. I've had this inexpensive dress for many years now and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. I guess a simple piece that really fits well gets plenty of use. Go figure. Other things that made this dress and tights combination different from last time is the addition of my new fringe ear cuff and my comfy bronze shoes. The ear cuff was a Christmas gift from Jeanie. I love the way it looks but I can only wear it for a few hours before it hurts my ear. The...

Outfit: Colorful Bodycon Dress, Black Cardigan, and Black Ankle Boots

Image
I picked up this little colorful bodycon dress over the summer because it seemed highly remixable and it was incredibly inexpensive. I thought it was time to style it for the mild winter weather we've been having lately. (You can see how I wore it in the July heat by clicking here though!) It has a ton of colors in its abstract pattern so I could have tried a more colorful pairing, but black seemed like a good choice that day. I added a black cardigan, plain black tights, and some ankle boots. My pink thrifted earrings were another colorful touch though!  This silhouette is quite the departure from my last outfit post! I don't wear bodycon styles as much because I feel like an a-line shape balances out my lack of hips/butt. Plus you don't have to suck in your food baby as much after a hefty meal. I felt good in this outfit though! It's nice to mix things up. It really was a comfy outfit too! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good! I basically just hu...

Outfit: Khaki Green Jeans, Floral Blouse, and Brown Wedge Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I know some of you aren't particularly interested in more casual outfits like this, but I just got these green jeans and wanted to share them with you. I try really hard to style jeans in a non-boring way so I hope this doesn't bore you too much. I love these new khaki green jeans though. I can't get enough of olive green shades lately so when these jeans fit so well they needed to become part of my wardrobe. I enjoy the zipper pocket detail and the seam down the back. For their first day out I paired them with a floral hand-me-down top and some brown wedge sandals. It was a great summer to fall transitional outfit. This outfit would be perfect for a warm spring day too though! jeans: new york & co. | top: hand-me-down forever 21 | wedges: forever 21 | earrings: forever 21? So what do you think about my new jeans? They should be really versatile. How would you style them for cooler weather? I keep thinking about wearing them with a...

80s Geometric Print Shirt, Black A-line Skirt, Bright Blue Tights, & Studded Loafers

Image
Here's a little bit of a crazy outfit for you. At least it's crazy in the color scheme and print. Mostly it's this silk 80s shirt I thrifted a long while back. I hadn't worn it yet this season so it needed to make an appearance. I decided to pair it with my black a-line skirt with the mesh cutout detail and a pair of new insanely blue tights. These tights were in Walmart clearance for $2.50 so they obviously needed to come home with me. They're such a cool, bright color! They were screaming to be paired with this obnoxiously printed shirt (that I love completely un-ironically). shirt: thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: x-appeal - rack room shoes | hair bow: forever 21 I hope you guys are having a great Monday. I'm supposed to be on spring break right now but I'll be at work today. Yay. Also studying. But I'll be heading up north for a wedding soon so there's something to look forward to! Have a super fantastic sta...

A Professional Look for an Internship Interview

Image
I'm so sorry about my lack of posting the past couple days. I've just had so much research to do and papers to write. Unfortunately you might be bored by this outfit, but it's something I wore and a little out of the ordinary for me. It's an interview outfit ! I tried my best to not look too boring and I think the cool zipper detailing on my blazer and the tiny polka dot print on my dress pants helped. My mom actually took me out shopping and basically put this whole outfit together when I was freaking out about what to wear for the interview. Hooray Mom! Now I have a good interview outfit for the future. I'm just not feeling my hair here though. I was at the point of wanting to chop it (and I have since then). Looking at these pictures now, I would have worn a tiny bit more color on my lips too.  blazer, blouse, pants, earrings: new york and co. | shoes: kohl's?  I hope this outfit didn't bore you too much and maybe gave you an idea of...

A Wearable Halloween Outfit: Evil Cat Dress & Rust Orange Tights

Image
Happy Halloween! This outfit is actually what I'm wearing right this minute. Later I'll be in my 80s aerobics instructor costume, but for now I'm wearing a slightly Halloween-themed outfit. I can't help but be a bit literal with my holiday outfits. My Halloween outfits always have festive earrings and Halloween colors, so that's what's going on here. I wore this evil cat print dress layered over a sheer black blouse and added my rust orange tights to complete the Halloween color scheme. My earrings are little candy corns too! This outfit could easily be worn on a regular fall day though. I'd just swap out my festive earrings for another pair! dress: modcloth | blouse: nicole - thrifted | tights: forever 21 | shoes: forever 21 | earrings: claire's (gift) I hope you guys have a really fun Halloween whether you're out partying or inside watching festive movies. I plan on doing both of those things and possibly stuffing my face ...

Cartoon Print Top, Jean Jacket, & a Black A-Line Skirt

Image
It's already Monday again! This weekend flew by and now it's time for another week of school work. That's okay though because the weekend was good and last week had definite high points (such as Neutral Milk Hotel). Plus I now have the Allegiant  book in my possession so I'm looking forward to reading that asap. But enough talk of life and on to the outfit! I wore this to the Aaron Carter concert right before my birthday. I ditched the hat for the actual concert in order to not lose it or bother people's line-of-sight. Though thinking about me blocking people's view is kind of hilarious because I'm not even 5 feet tall. Anyway, I decided my "pow" top needed to be worn again and paired it with my thrifted jean jacket and black skater skirt. It was a fun outfit but also comfy which is a winning outfit duo. top: papaya | jean jacket: so... - thrifted (originally from kohl's) | skirt: forever 21 | wedges: y not? - shoe carnival | hat: h&...

Mini Houndstooth & Stripes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's a simple outfit I threw together with my new striped crop top. It was ultra cheap, classic, and neutrally colored, so I figured it would be a good addition to my wardrobe. I'll be able to wear it with a bunch of different things. This time I paired it with my thrifted mini houndstooth skirt. The prints are both geometric, so they go together. top: forever 21 | skirt: thrifted | shoes: solanze - shoe carnival | earrings: forever 21 Aren't these earrings neat? You just string them through your ear. I was kind of concerned about them hurting to put in but a review on the website said they don't, so I went for it. It just feels weird to put them on but there isn't any pain. Now, I've had those first holes pierced since 1st grade so they're completely healed up on the inside and no earrings bother them. These could probably really irritate finicky piercings. Did you guys have a good weekend? I actually went to ...
