Outfit: Black Star Print Shirt, Corduroy Shorts, and Silver Oxfords

Image
When will it be nice spring weather outside? It's been so gloomy and cold here in Georgia so I guess it's still relevant to show you a wintry almost all black outfit. I don't always wear a lot of color! I wore this for shopping and food with Matt at Ponce City Market a while back. The only new piece here is this black button down shirt with silver stars. I picked it up on sale because I figured it was just different enough while also being super wearable for work. I styled my new top with a pair of faux backseam tights, old old high waisted corduroy shorts from college, and silver oxford shoes from Target. My little western-style belt was thrifted long ago. top, shoes: target | jacket, shorts, tights: forever 21 | belt: thrifted I don't have anything super exciting to blog about here - just the odd outfit here and there, so thank you for sticking around. I've mostly been catching up on and enjoying reading lately, hanging out with my dog and husban...

Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Blouse and Light Green Scalloped Shorts

Image
It's time for a super summery outfit here on the blog so here's this one! I've actually worn this flamingo print top from Shein a couple different ways but hadn't photographed it yet. This may be my favorite way I've worn it, paired with my light green scalloped shorts from Forever 21 and a pair of clear, studded sandals from Boohoo. It looks pretty cool with my lime green cardigan too, though... This top has such a cute print and was incredibly inexpensive but you can definitely tell it's cheaply made. The thing that bothers me most is the darts on the bust aren't in the right place. It's fine for what it is though. I've had some nice pieces from those cheapy online shops like Shein, but you always have the possibility that something will be off in the clothes you buy from them. I've been covering the weirdly placed darts with cardigans most time I wear this, but this time it was just too hot for that. It's not too noticeable, I h...

Outfit: Futurama Tank Top, Mustard Cardigan, Corduroy Shorts, and Red Tights

Image
I don't own nearly enough Futurama clothing or accessories for it being my absolute favorite TV show of all time. So when I saw this Planet Express tank top on Look Human, I had to have it. First of all, it's super comfy and can be worn for lounging or actual leaving-the-house activities. Second, it shrunk to the perfect size after washing. You can probably tell here that the straps were too long the first time I wore it. I'm glad I threw it through the dryer before taking them up because it's an 100% perfect fit now. For its first day out I paired it with some bright colors: my mustard yellow cardigan and a pair of bold red tights. The brights were balanced out by my black corduroy shorts and a pair of patent mary jane flats from Modcloth. Just a comfortable weekend outfit and a welcome reunion with these high-waisted shorts I hadn't worn in much too long. I love getting back in my comfy high-waisted shorts that I used to wear so often back in college...

Outfit: Houndstooth Shorts, Glitter Back Seam Tights, and a Bow Print Shirt

Image
There's just something about houndstooth that really appeals to me. Maybe it's the versatile black and white print or that it looks so perfect paired with red, which is one of my favorite colors to wear. Either way, I keep collecting houndstooth pieces! I bought these houndstooth shorts a year or so ago. I remember trying on a pair but not finding my size in store so I ordered what I assumed would be my size online and they were perfect. Isn't it great when that happens? I'd been missing wearing shorts with tights this season, so here I am again in a shorts and tights outfit. I paired the shorts with my glittery faux back seam tights, a comfy graphic tee with a striped red bow on it, studded black loafers, and my trusty leather jacket. There's a lot of red, white, and black going on here - a favorite color combination of mine in winter even though it's not quite winter yet. jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | top, shorts, tights: fo...

Outfit: Green Top with Sheer Floral Detail, Black Floral Shorts, and Yellow Wedges

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I really like how these pictures turned out from our trip out to Andalusia Farm last month, so I'm excited to share them with you. Matt's becoming pretty handy with my camera when we're out and about. I set the settings and he clicks. It's a great partnership. I'm also a fan of this outfit - which I guess makes sense since I wore it. The mix of vibrant yellow and green looks perfect against both the green backdrops and the wood of the old farm house. (The house in these pictures was apparently where the dairy family that worked on the farm lived.) I hadn't worn this green top in quite a while so I figured it was time to style it in a new way. I dug up this pair of black floral shorts I got from H&M clearance a long while back and added my bright yellow clearance wedges from Target. I guess I find a lot of things on clearance.  This was one of those outfits I just kind of threw together last minute, but it turned out great. ...

Outfit: Tree Branch Statement Necklace, Green Scallop Hem Shorts, and a Light Blue Textured Top

Image
Be prepared for a very spring-y outfit ahead! First I'm going to tell you all about this fantastic tree branch necklace the kind people at Happiness Boutique sent me. They contacted me to pick out a statement necklace to style, so of course I picked the most unique one I saw: this pearl detailed tree branch necklace. (Unfortunately they've sold out of this one, but there's a pair of matching earrings .)  Happiness Boutique is based in Germany and curates trendy yet classic pieces. They have an awesome selection of necklaces and earrings at affordable prices and with free international shipping. It was fun looking through their pieces because I could imagine easily styling so many of them. Plus the store's theme around positivity and happiness is incredibly cute. Check them out next time you need an exciting piece of jewelry that won't break the bank! (They have a reward program too for those of you who buy a lot of jewelry!) I wore this super pastel o...

Outfit: Vintage Teal Cardigan, Windowpane Print Top, and Cobalt Blue Shorts

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I just have a very casual outfit to show you today. I've had this vintage Lacoste cardigan hanging around and it's never worn enough so I decided to create an outfit around it. I found it in the women's sweater section at a Goodwill up in Illinois and snatched it up. It's pretty oversized on me and I think that's because it's actually a men's cardigan. It's just such a great color despite being a little big on me. I make the oversized fit work by pairing it with more fitted clothes and by showing plenty of leg.  I'm a big fan of the colors in this outfit. That's probably mostly due to the fact that my shorts and shoes match perfectly. Sometimes it's good to be matchy matchy! Plus something about cobalt blue next to a saturated teal makes me very happy. cardigan: lacoste - goodwill | top and shorts: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: delia's This cardigan is clearly oversized on me not only be...

Outfit: Pink Sweater with Houndstooth Shorts and Silver Oxford Shoes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I wore this outfit a week or two ago. I've been loving these houndstooth shorts that I just had to order from Forever 21. I'm always happy when I can keep coming up with new outfits inspired by one new piece of clothing. I love that these shorts pair nicely with every other color. This time I went with my pink sweater with the lace bow detail that I bought last winter. Pink, black, and white is another winning color combination in my book. I kept the tights simple and added some shine with my silver cutout oxford shoes I got on clearance at Target this past summer. What do you think? Are you a fan of these houndstooth shorts too? I hope so because I already have another outfit planned for them! I may even wear it today! sweater: elle - kohl's | shorts: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: sam & libby - target I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are looking forward to holiday festivities or some down time in the near future. Outfit: Houndstooth Shorts, Black Short Sleeved Sweater, and Yellow Tights

Image
Do you ever try something on at the store, leave it, and find yourself unable to stop thinking about it? That's what happened with me and these shorts. Houndstooth is one of my favorite patterns, along with polka dots and leopard print of course. Anyway, Forever 21 only had an XS and M in these shorts so I tried on both but neither fit. Usually I'd just shrug and say, "oh well." This time I was convinced the elusive size S would indeed fit so I tracked down the shorts online and ordered away. I'm very glad to say I was absolutely correct and they fir comfortably and are super cute. For their first day out I styled them with some new yellow tights and a thrifted short sleeved sweater. This sweater has an evil habit of shedding its hairs into my eyes. I think it's some sort of angora blend. (This time my eyes stayed hair free though!) These Boston Terrier flats haven't been getting enough love lately but they were perfect with my black, white, and yellow ...
