Outfit: Black Floral Skater Dress with Back Cutouts and a Black Boater Hat

Image
Happy happy Friday! I'm excited to show you a very spring-y outfit today. I found this dress at Ross a couple weeks back for something around $12 so I had to buy it. I liked the fun cutouts in the back and dark floral prints are great to wear year round. For its debut I wore my comfy bronze sandals and a black boater hat from Nasty Gal. Clearly it was another glasses day too. I wore my new blue glasses Firmoo sent me. I've never worn glasses as much as I have this year! dress: ross | sandals: korks - shoe carnival | bracelet: forever 21 | hat: nasty gal | glasses: c/o firmoo Do you have any fun plans this weekend? I'm looking forward to the Creature Comforts brewery anniversary celebration on Saturday. I'll be heading back to Athens for the festivities! Sunday will most likely be filled with much needed relaxation. I hope you have a great end of your week and that you're having a fantastic Friday!

Outfit: Gold Sequined Crop Top, Red Pencil Skirt, and Black Ankle Boots

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I wore this fairly holiday-tastic outfit to an informal dinner party the other week. This sequined top is a recent purchase because I couldn't resist its shininess (and the fact that it's a crop top which means it'll fit like a normal shirt). Everyone thought I looked like I was going to a Christmas party but I really just enjoy gold with red. I love that I can get away with as many sparkly items as I see fit at this time of year though! For this shirt's sequin-y debut I paired it with a trusty red wool pencil skirt I thrifted many years ago. This skirt is a standby during the winter months. Though it's perfectly snug around my waist so it's not the best choice when gorging on holiday meals. I've made it work though. It's nothing a little stealthy unbuttoning can't fix if I end up eating a few too many pierogies and produce a food baby. Anyway, maybe this outfit will give you some holiday inspiration. It was warm so I did...

Outfit: Leather Pencil Skirt, Blue Tank Top, Wedge Sandals, & a Spiked Bracelet

Image
Do you have those pieces in your wardrobe that just don't get worn enough even though they should be highly remix-able? This leather pencil skirt is one of those pieces in mine. It's the outcome of a wonderful thrifting trip and a DIY scalloped hem. (You can see how this hem was done in my scalloped leather skirt tutorial .)  Sometimes it's daunting to think about wearing leather in the summer. Even though it's very hot outside, I decided to make this leather skirt work by pairing it with a light tank top and some wedge sandals. I was in the air conditioning most of the day anyway, so I survived wearing a leather pencil skirt in the Georgia heat!  skirt: thrifted | top: kmart | shoes: target | bracelet: jigsaw london This week has been and will continue to be weird. I'm half-way through moving out of my Athens apartment and back home for an unknown amount of time. (Basically until I get my life together and find a grown up job.) I've been clea...

Jean Jacket, Floral Shoes, & a Blue Lace Crop Top over a Black Jersey Knit Dress

Image
Happy Friday! This was a comfortable outfit I wore about a week ago. I bought this blue crochet lace crop top on clearance about a year ago and thought I'd wear it with everything. However that did not happen so I felt compelled to actually style it the other day. I threw it over one of my comfiest dresses that I actually wear a lot but don't photograph often. I'm not sure this dress has ever been on the blog, but I know its maroon twin has been! I call them my pajama dresses. They're that comfortable. I figured this crop top would mix up this dress a little bit. I threw on my jean jacket and some floral heels for a spring-y vibe. Also, is it just me or is my hair looking particularly awesome with warm-weather outfits? Maybe its the novelty of it, but I'm loving it. top: delia's | dress: forever 21 | shoes: delia's | jacket: so... - thrifted | bracelet: jigsaw london In other news, I passed my comprehensive exams! Hoorah! Now I just h...

Tie Dye with Polka Dots

Image
I've gotten so much use out of this polka dotted kids' skirt. I've only had it a few months, but it seems to go with so many different tops! It also helps that it was really inexpensive. I think it was something around $7 on clearance? Good times. This time I paired it with a clearance tie-dye shirt I got from Target a while back. I've worn this shirt more often this year than the year I bought it! I've just really been liking my sleeveless tops like this lately. Sorry I look kind of weirdly tired in these pictures. They were taken after a long day of class and making dinner and life. skirt: target | top: merona - target | sandals: solanze - shoe carnival | bracelet: jigsaw london The writing on my hand is room numbers. Who has time to look for a piece of paper or remember what room to look for? Not this girl. I hope you have a good start to your week. I just hope I survive class today. Though that's always what I hope for.  Happy Monda...

Futuristic Digital Print Dress with Yellow Wedges

Image
I wore this futuristic looking dress to our family reunion last Saturday. It was a recent purchase from Boohoo after I (very luckily) won credit from a Broke and Beautiful giveaway. It reminds me of something Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century would wear. Or maybe one of her space station friends. It's definitely the sleeves that give it that vibe. Plus the print is kind of modern and cool too. I hope it's not just me who thinks this looks like a Zenon dress. I guess I'm just getting outfit inspiration from my childhood lately! dress: boohoo | shoes: merona - target | belt, earrings: thrifted | hair bow: forever 21 | spiked bracelet: jigsaw london Since we're thinking about Zenon, here's some wonderful nostalgia for your viewing pleasure. Seriously though. This song is actually good. Now it'll be stuck in my head the rest of the day! Happy Wednesday!

Sister Style: Heart Print & Chevron Dresses

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's what Jeanie and I wore to a get-together last Thursday. There was plenty of fun had by all because Cards Against Humanity is a hilarious game.  These pictures were taken just when Matt pulled up to pick us up so they're obviously the most attractive. It's always awkward having extra spectators when outfit picture time is happening.  My dress is a recent Target purchase. I randomly decided to try it on because I didn't have anything like it yet. This is probably as close to the maxi dress trend that I'd get. It's just more flattering on my short frame if some leg is showing. It's also an incredibly comfortable dress, so that's always a plus! shoes: shoe carnival | dress: target | spiked bracelet: jigsaw london Have a great day!

Pinafore & Black Lace

Image
I wore this last week before I visited Virginia. I bought this pinafore last year and now they're "in" again, so that's good. I paired it with my black lace crop top and a pair of floral wedges that I don't wear often enough. There's also a tiny bit of an "arm party" going on. Aren't I so trendy? Yeah. pinafore dress: forever 21 | black lace top: h&m | wedges: ross dress for less | floral hair clip: forever 21 | pearl bracelet & earrings: gift | watch: great grandma collection | spiked bracelet: jigsaw london Bright purple-y lipstick! Thanks for the kind comments recently. I promise I'll get caught up on your blogs soon. This week threw life out of wack, but I'm hoping to get back to normal soon. It's a weird feeling to not want to do anything at all. I picked up my library books again yesterday and went out shopping too so that's a start. Have a great weekend!
