Outfit: Wide Legged Jeans with a Striped Top and Little Mermaid Funko Pop Necklace

Image
Being under 5 feet tall can make finding certain clothes nearly impossible. Take bell bottom jeans for example. People say, "Oh you can hem them!" Wrong. Once hemmed, the flared awesomeness - the part that makes them "bell," disappears. This means we vertically challenged have to find jeans actually made for our non-Amazonian legs. This is a challenge. Since I've been seeing more bell bottoms and wide-legged jeans online, I didn't hesitate to try on the pair I noticed at Target a couple months ago. They were marked with an "R" for regular length which is a glorious mark in my mind because that usually means that an "S" for short exists somewhere in the universe. Luckily I was right as I tried on the regular length and they were much, much too long for me. I immediately went online, found the short version ( they're still online !), and ordered them. Here they are in their wide-legged splendor! I've actually been wearing t...

Work Outfit: Wide Legged Floral Trousers with an Army Green Button Down

Image
Happy Wednesday and happy almost Thanksgiving to all my American friends. It's been a little while since I shared a work outfit now that it gets dark before I get home, but here's one I managed to capture before daylight savings time ended. These wide legged floral pants can be dressed up or down, which is good because they feel like pajamas and being pajama comfy at work is great. This time I styled them with a button down shirt to make them more work appropriate. I had some chunky heels on with this too, but you can't see them because of the grass. (Oops!)  I enjoyed the way my army green shirt looked with the muted florals on the pants. I tend to wear these army green and olive green shades during this time of year. They can act as neutrals just like navy blue. I think it's pretty great to wear a color as a neutral! P.S. - Sorry for the lack of pictures here but the lighting really wasn't on my side.  top: new york & company | pants, earri...

Outfit: Comfy Wide Legged Floral Pants with Clogs and a Yellow Cardigan

Image
I know I'm not usually so super comfy around here, but sometimes I want to lounge around the house while still being dressed in something that isn't pajamas. This outfit was born out of that situation! These wide legged floral pants are so comfortable they may as well be high-waisted pajamas. I threw on a white top I've had since high school and a slightly oversized mustard yellow cardigan.  You may also notice the rare appearance of glasses in this post. I've been having some eye comfort issues so this was a glasses day. I hardly ever wear my glasses so when I order new ones I tend to order a cheap and slightly ridiculous pair. Yes, these giant pink glasses are indeed in my prescription. Luckily I'm going to get my eyes checked out today so I hope my contacts and eye makeup will be back on my face soon! Even though the glasses were necessary, it's fun to mix it up once in a while and wear my them in an outfit post! pants, shirt: forever 21 | cardigan: ...

Outfit: Floral Wide Legged Pants with a Green Concert T-shirt

Image
Happy happy Friday everyone! I hope you're having a lovely day. I'm not sure why I decided I needed a pair of wide legged pants, but here they are. I tried on a pair in Las Vegas, left them, and the thought of them kept calling to me. They're like ultra stylish pajamas! How could I resist? I also enjoy having something with a different silhouette in my wardrobe. For their first time out I wore them in just about the comfiest way possible: with a concert t-shirt. What do you think? Have you noticed wide-legged pants around the blogosphere too? If you have any suggestions for other ways to style these that are perhaps a bit less pajama-like, I'm all ears! I was thinking maybe a white peter pan collar blouse and my new clog sandals.  pants: forever 21 | top: Decemberists concert | shoes: target As you read this I'm either making my way up to Illinois or already at my destination. We're heading up for a wedding and a visit. I'll be happy to expe...

A Professional Look for an Internship Interview

Image
I'm so sorry about my lack of posting the past couple days. I've just had so much research to do and papers to write. Unfortunately you might be bored by this outfit, but it's something I wore and a little out of the ordinary for me. It's an interview outfit ! I tried my best to not look too boring and I think the cool zipper detailing on my blazer and the tiny polka dot print on my dress pants helped. My mom actually took me out shopping and basically put this whole outfit together when I was freaking out about what to wear for the interview. Hooray Mom! Now I have a good interview outfit for the future. I'm just not feeling my hair here though. I was at the point of wanting to chop it (and I have since then). Looking at these pictures now, I would have worn a tiny bit more color on my lips too.  blazer, blouse, pants, earrings: new york and co. | shoes: kohl's?  I hope this outfit didn't bore you too much and maybe gave you an idea of...
