Petite Panoply

There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.  I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! It's been nearly a year since our last The Fringe Off collaboration - see how we styled tacky Christmas sweaters last winter - but here we are again styling ruffles! Be sure to check out how everyone else styled this trend at the end of this post.  The ruffled shirt , the star of this post, is from Forever 21 and combines two recent trends: lace up and ruffles. My plaid skirt is a new favorite that I got from Primark when I was over in Scotland last month. The brown clogs are from Kork Ease's less expensive brand, Korks, and they're the comfiest things. I'll be so sad when they wear out.  This outfit is one of my favorites I've put together lately. I'm excited it's finally cool enough for tights at home because I think the mustard yellow tights add a lot to this look. It all just seems very "fall" to me! It's close to Halloween so I thought I'd get in the spirit here and show you a slightly festive outfit. I generally include color in my outfits but sometimes throwing black pieces together feels right! In lieu of color I added sparkly details like my silver-y Stella & Dot beaded necklace and my silver cutout oxfords. The silver accessories played off the zippers on the front of my new black jeans too. Can I mention how much I love these black high-waisted jeans ? They're in the Soho Jeans line from New York & Company and are super stretchy and comfortable. I wore them two days in a row and they didn't sag on me, which is a miracle in the land of stretch denim!
