Outfit: Petite Dark Wash Bell Bottoms, Blue Striped Shirt, and Yellow Wedges

Image
Behold! I found a pair of bell bottoms for short women and they came from Old Navy! If you're short, you know how difficult it is to find properly fitting jeans outside of the straight leg or skinny styles. Skinny jeans and straight jeans can be hemmed and they'll generally look fine. With flares, you end up chopping off most of the flared part of the denim. Not only that, but the flare itself starts so far down on your leg it looks ridiculous. Needless to say, it was a journey trying to find bell bottoms made with a short inseam without having to spend over $150.  At a recent mall trip I noticed Old Navy had high waisted bell bottoms so I tried them on even though I knew they'd be way too long on me. My local Old Navy stores don't carry petite sizes so I had to cross my fingers and guess at a size to order online. The  high-rise rockstar flare-leg jeans  ended up fitting wonderfully with a pair of tall wedges. Unfortunately they don't carry the medium-was...

Navy Striped Dress, Spiky Shoes, and a Bouffant

Image
Remember my mustache dress I wore a few posts back? Well this is the same Walmart child dress with a different pattern! I think I'll get more wear out of this classic striped number than the mustache print one, but they were both so inexpensive it really doesn't matter. I can definitely see this dress worn a number of different ways - especially in cooler weather with tights and various layering items. Its first time out needed to have a nautical vibe though. Gold and navy blue always look great together. Plus I had new anchor earrings to wear. How would you wear a striped dress like this?  dress: faded glory - walmart | shoes: boohoo | belt: thrifted | anchor earrings: forever 21 | necklace: great grandma collection In other life news I began the process of moving Matt into my apartment over the weekend. That meant clearing out a lot of my clothes and taking them home. Sad times. Though there were things there that I haven't worn in a long time so I gues...

Wearing A Striped Nautical Sweater and Navy Skirt Makes Me Say Ahoy!

Image
Just a quick outfit post today! I really liked how perfectly my thrifted striped sweater looked with this navy skirt, but these pictures didn't turn out the best. I blame the horribly bright sun and the epic windiness! Normally I would just wear the outfit another day and take pictures, but I'm trying to get as much use out of my tights and sweaters as I can before it gets hot! nautical sweater: thrifted | skirt, red oxford shoes, tights - forever 21 | sunglasses - kohl's How perfect is this sweater? It has a red anchor on it. It's pretty cool. Actually, Jeanie found it at the thrift store and thought it would be perfect for me. I almost didn't get it, but I'm glad I did. It's a petite size so it fits really nicely! I'm looking a bit windblown in these. Sorry! I hope you're having a good week so far! I can't believe it's Wednesday already!

Independence Day, Hooray!

If there's one thing Jeanie and I like to do on the Fourth of July, it's dressing in garish red, white, and blue clothing. Then we take pictures on the front lawn with all the cars driving by and honking/staring. Happy Fourth! Jeanie's eagle ring made an appearance. It's only appropriate for America's birthday right? We come up with a lot of interesting poses and therefore end up with some hilarious pictures. This one was a favorite of the bunch. I present, Jeanie Lurks in the Tree Behind Me as I Peace Sign You: We feel like we're Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams in the movie Dick when we wear our Fourth of July outfits, so of course we had to have a peace sign picture!  Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone had a fun/relaxing day!
