Outfit: Mustard Yellow Top, Pleated Polka Dot Skirt, and Red Flats

Image
It's finally the weekend and I'm excited to show you an outfit I've actually been rewearing pretty often the past couple of months. I'm a big fan of pairing primary colors together - maybe because they look good with my hair - so this has been one of my new favorite outfits. I picked the mustard yellow top up on clearance at target for about $12 and it's so perfect. This shade of yellow looks good with so many other colors and it'll work year round. I styled it with the navy blue polka dot skirt from a matching set and a pair of simple red pointed flats. This whole outfit is very me. Plenty of color, polka dots, lace, pointed flats... top: target | skirt, flats: forever 21 I apologize for the short break in posting. Life has been ridiculous. If you follow me on Snapchat (via JahmieRose) you may have seen the fiasco that has been my life this past week. Here's my story of woe if you're at all interested.  If not, feel free to move along:  ...

Outfit: White Lace Up Top, Red Geometric Floral Mini Skirt, and Tall Brown Ankle Boots

Image
I really miss wearing my mini skirts because they're not exactly "work appropriate" and I can't wear one every single weekend or I'd be missing out on all my other clothes. When I put this outfit on I just stood in front of the mirror and was like, "yes. return to me oh mini skirt goodness!" Plus the combination of the ruffled and lace up top with the pattern in the skirt was calling to me. Then I added in the super tall retro-looking ankle boots and I'm pretty sure this outfit turned out perfect.  I wasn't going to do the whole lace up shirt trend (because I had one back when they were last in style when I was in middle school) but this one was right up my alley with the addition of ruffles. I can see myself styling this shirt a lot of different ways this spring. Unfortunately I probably can't wear it to work either because of the whole seeing-my-bra-through-the-lace-up-part-if-you-look-closely-enough. So this is my delightful, not-w...

Work Outfit: ASOS Green Skinny Trousers, Navy Bow Blouse, Rose Gold Heels, and a Brown Leather Jacket

Image
When ASOS contacted me and asked me to style a work outfit, I was absolutely on board! I'm always interested in finding new, versatile work clothes since starting my real adult job early this year. I knew I'd be able to find some great pieces for work at ASOS , especially since they have a petite line .  I wish they had all the pieces here in their petite line, but the blouse was and I can tell you having a top made for short people is magical. The sleeves are the perfect length and, more importantly, the shirt hem ends well before the end of my butt. It makes a difference when you tuck your shirts in!  I picked out a pair of ankle grazer pants because they're cut shorter than regular ones. They still needed to be taken up a good inch or so though, which is why I have a rolled hem on the pair I'm wearing. Having my pants hemmed to a proper length is important to me because otherwise it feels like I'm a kid wearing adult clothes. It's always importan...

Outfit: Pinstriped Bow Neck Blouse, Navy Button Down Skirt, and Red Sandals

Image
Hey look! My hair is in a ponytail. I've never been a ponytail kind of girl but I must admit I've been enjoying switching it up. It's nice having the option of putting it up when my hair isn't looking in tip top shape between washes. I do miss having my short hair though! It pretty much always looked good and was super fast to blow dry. Someday it'll get the chop again! Now on to the clothes! This isn't labeled as a work outfit since it looks much more like my usual style, but I did wear it to work. The skirt is probably a bit too short for work but oh well. Fun fact: I've had this button down skirt from Forever 21 since 2010 and it's still going strong. This striped button down shirt is almost as old. Sometimes you just find great things that last and last from Forever 21. It's kind of like a thrift store in a way. There's tons of crap but you might find a gem. Or you might find something slightly crappy that you're still convinced y...

Outfit: Purple Silk Top, Sequined Seafoam Skater Skirt, Cateye Glasses and a Dotted Neck Tie

Image
Any excuse to wear a sequined skirt is a good enough excuse for me. I've worn this skirt on completely normal days too , but this specific outfit was worn at my sister's graduation party. Sequins and parties just go together! There's also a Little Mermaid feel going on with this skirt so I had to eventually pair it with this bold purple silk top. I thrifted this shirt a long while ago and love it but the wrinkles just do not want to come out. I tried my best! To accessorize, I added a short tie around my neck and my delightfully comfy two-toned Steve Madden flats that I got at Shoe Carnival for $15. Isn't it the best when a pair of shoes actually turn out to be substantially comfortable? It's kind of like a lottery when you buy a pair of shoes. Until you wear them during an entire day of walking around, you just don't know! These, luckily, don't hurt and go with practically everything. top: thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | shoes: steve madde...

Work Outfit: Silver Top, Handmade Red Floral Skirt, and Silver Sandals

Image
There's something about mixing cool and warm tones that's unexpected and interesting. I enjoy doing it with my makeup, but I decided to try it with my clothes this time! This silver shirt was originally bought as part of an interview outfit but it's versatile enough to wear any time. I paired it with a handmade pleated skirt speckled with orange-y red floral.  These pictures were taken around my new apartment. I'm still trying to figure out some go-to places to take pictures where there aren't ten thousand people staring. It's very awkward taking outfit pictures with a ton of people around, but I'm in the city now so I guess I'll have to get used to it! It's been crappy outside pretty much every other day since I moved too, so there have been even fewer days I could take pictures. I'll get my crap together soon and figure everything out. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic weekend. I'm definitely excited it's Friday! ...

Outfit: Brown Corduroy Shorts and a Ruffle Sleeve Fox Print Top

Image
It's the fox print shirt again! When I said I can't stop wearing this shirt, it was the truth. The neutral-colored print makes it super versatile and I love the ruffled sleeve detail on it. I figured I'd break out one of my colorful beaded necklaces to play off the colors in the top's print. (I've been sorely neglecting my pile of beaded necklaces lately so I'm trying to remember to wear them!) Anyway, the rest of this outfit was a comfy combination of my brown corduroy shorts and cushy shoes. top: boohoo | shorts, necklace: forever 21 | shoes: korks - shoe carnival Sorry for the weird posting schedule last week. Everything got out of whack with traveling on Monday and my birthday on Tuesday. I'm back to posting normally today! Hooray! I have a bit of catching up to do reading your blogs too. I'm excited to work on that this week. Have a fantastic start to your week!

Outfit: Fox Print Blouse, White Lace Skirt, and Black Platform Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! This outfit is a recent favorite so I hope you like it too. It's actually made up of a bunch of new clothes you haven't seen before! This fox print top is quickly becoming one of my go-to shirts because it matches almost everything. (It's also super cute.) I've already worn it three times. My fox top was a lucky Twitter giveaway win from Boohoo. The skirt is new from Forever 21 because I wanted a white skirt and these fisherman style platform sandals were an epic sale find at Shoe Carnival. I actually bought these shoes in a bronze color too because they were 2 for $20. The fact that they're an incredibly comfortable Kork-Ease brand, Korks, convinced me I needed more than one pair. I could probably walk miles in these things, they're that comfy.  top: boohoo | skirt: forever 21 | shoes: korks - shoe carnival | hair bow: h&m I have so much to do today it's kind of ridiculous. Why does this always happen before ...

Outfit: Blue Striped Blouse, Black Linen Shorts, & Silver Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's yet another super summery outfit straight from hot and humid Georgia. This striped blouse is a relatively new sale purchase from Modcloth. It's one of those pieces that I thought would look good with a ton of things. Unfortunately it only ended up pairing with most of my clothes in theory. I think part of the problem is that I own a lot of items with prints and not enough solids. That's my own fault though, not the fault of this shirt. For its debut I sucked it up and ironed my black linen shorts. Of course you can't tell I ironed them because I wore them for a couple hours before taking these pictures. Stupid wrinkly linen. top: modcloth | shorts: ralph lauren - thrifted from goodwill | sandals: shoe carnival I apologize for the lack of pictures. Most of this set turned out overexposed because of the partly cloudy crap that was going on outside. Also I rushed through them because it was starting to sprinkle. Many bloggers wou...

Outfit: Maroon Patterned Mini Skirt, High Neck Sleeveless Top, & Gold Loafers

Image
I wore this a little while back and am just now getting to posting it! I'm not thrilled with the pictures, but that's just what happens sometimes. I decided to remix my newest matching set and wear the skirt with a mock turtleneck top. This is what I mean about this matching separates trend being so versatile! I'm thinking I need to pair either the skirt or top with something yellow next time.  top: target | skirt: forever 21 | loafers: target | bracelet: vintage And just for good measure: this is what happens when I can't come up with any new poses. It's so attractive! Can we talk about how fast this summer is flying by? How is it already after the 4th of July? The sad thing is once July hits every store decides it's fall time and takes out all the warm weather clothes. Newsflash Georgia: it doesn't get even cool outside here until at least November. I need clothes I won't melt in! Fortunately I have a large wardrobe so I probably don...
