Any excuse to wear a sequined skirt is a good enough excuse for me. I've worn this skirt on completely normal days too, but this specific outfit was worn at my sister's graduation party. Sequins and parties just go together! There's also a Little Mermaid feel going on with this skirt so I had to eventually pair it with this bold purple silk top. I thrifted this shirt a long while ago and love it but the wrinkles just do not want to come out. I tried my best!
To accessorize, I added a short tie around my neck and my delightfully comfy two-toned Steve Madden flats that I got at Shoe Carnival for $15. Isn't it the best when a pair of shoes actually turn out to be substantially comfortable? It's kind of like a lottery when you buy a pair of shoes. Until you wear them during an entire day of walking around, you just don't know! These, luckily, don't hurt and go with practically everything.

So what do you think? Do you get a Little Mermaid vibe going on here too? I actually wore very similar colors back when I first had my hair dyed bright red. You can see that outfit too: I wore the same purple shirt with my scalloped light green shorts. What can I say? Purple looks really good with light green shades!
Did you all have a good weekend? We had a busy one around Atlanta. Matt and I had wings at a bar on Friday, went to Canada Fest to see Sloan on Saturday, and went to an outdoor art festival yesterday before grocery shopping and making homemade pizzas. All in all, a good weekend. I'd love to hear about yours!
Happy Monday!

Before I even read this I thought to myself that it reminded me of a mermaid. That skirt especially gives off mermaid vibes.
Yes loving the mermaid vibe! That skirt is amazing.. really makes an outfit pop :D
When I saw this look on Instagram I immediately thought of the little mermaid - and I mean that in the best way possible. That skirt is fantastic :]
Totally getting the mermaid vibe too, especially with this color mix of purple and mint.
Adore the skirt, I'm a sucker for sequins, will wear them everyday no matter the ocassion! :D
The tie is also a brilliant addition, makes everything more, well, you!
Love it ^_^
Weekend was okay, played The Witcher everydayand worked on the blog. Good times!
Yup, you're a mermaid! Definitely Ariel. She had the purple seashell bra and everything. You might just be her in real life. I wouldn't doubt it. :)
Adorable! And I was gonna say, you could totally Disneybound as Ariel in this (or like, Hipster Ariel)!
