Outfit: Striped Mock Turtleneck and Maroon Skater Skirt

Image
You guys. This is the last set of outfit pictures I have with my red hair, so please enjoy. [Edit: Nevermind. Just found another set.] I love the red but I needed a change! This outfit is also incredibly summery, but I guess that's okay with the unseasonably warm weather that's been going on in the US lately. This is the last warm weather look you'll see from me this year! I'd still wear this skirt and top in our Georgia fall with a pair of tights, a cardigan, and flat black boots. It's all about remixing for different seasons! Especially when half of my wardrobe is in a storage unit. top: c/o boohoo | skirt: h&M | earrings: target | sandals: modcloth | glasses: zenni optical Now that I've thrilled you with talk about my outfit, how is your fall going so far? Mine is getting pretty exciting/busy with the beginning of wedding planning all while the usual work stuff is going on. Matt and I even looked at a venue this weekend. It's getting real!...

Outfit: Red and Green Plaid Dress, Faux Leather Jacket, Gray Tights, and Cat Eye Glasses

Image
Saint Patrick's day is kind of a big deal in my family and I tend to celebrate all week long, wearing as much green as possible. I do own a lot of green clothes. Unfortunately this isn't what I'm wearing today but it fits the green theme somewhat, so it'll be my St. Pat's post this year! I'm wearing a shamrock necklace so it works, right? I originally bought this green, red, and blue plaid dress from Modcloth for Christmas but it ended up being much too large in the bodice area, which is a struggle I often have with dresses fitted at the waist. The back was buckling out from too much fabric so my mom altered it for me by taking up the shoulders and now it fits perfectly! Clearly it didn't end up being a holiday dress but maybe this year it will be. For now I styled it with my faux leather jacket, some gray tights, and lace-up ankle boots. I was rocking my cat eye glasses because my eyes were bothering me too. dress : modcloth | jacket: ashley ...

Outfit: Striped Dress, Blue Plaid Coat, Knee Socks, and a White Knit Scarf

Image
The amount of stripey patterns going on in this outfit makes me happy. I didn't originally plan to wear this blue plaid coat when I put on the rest of my clothes, but the added color and pattern adds a lot to my outfit. There might be too much going on for some, but I enjoyed it! It was perfect for wandering around Piedmont Park with Matt and Riker. Although at one point it got a little warm and I had to take my scarf off. Oh well! This striped fit and flare dress is one of the comfier options in my closet. It feels like pajamas which is almost always a plus. Then I layered some herringbone fishnet tights with black knee socks - because why not? The wedge boots were a practical, yet stylish choice because they're incredibly comfortable to walk in. Finally, I wore my big blue Firmoo glasses since they hadn't seen daylight in a while. Overall, a busy, yet comfy outfit for a warm winter day. coat: target | dress: forever 21 | tights: kohls? | socks: target | wed...

Outfit: Purple Silk Top, Sequined Seafoam Skater Skirt, Cateye Glasses and a Dotted Neck Tie

Image
Any excuse to wear a sequined skirt is a good enough excuse for me. I've worn this skirt on completely normal days too , but this specific outfit was worn at my sister's graduation party. Sequins and parties just go together! There's also a Little Mermaid feel going on with this skirt so I had to eventually pair it with this bold purple silk top. I thrifted this shirt a long while ago and love it but the wrinkles just do not want to come out. I tried my best! To accessorize, I added a short tie around my neck and my delightfully comfy two-toned Steve Madden flats that I got at Shoe Carnival for $15. Isn't it the best when a pair of shoes actually turn out to be substantially comfortable? It's kind of like a lottery when you buy a pair of shoes. Until you wear them during an entire day of walking around, you just don't know! These, luckily, don't hurt and go with practically everything. top: thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | shoes: steve madde...

Work Outfit: Bow Print Dress, Pink Short Sleeved Cardigan, White Sandals, and a Bouffant

Image
As you can probably tell, I've been experimenting with some photo locations since I moved. I tried with these but my balcony really isn't large enough for outfit photos! These turned out okay though and they're something different.  I wore this little bow print dress to work the other day. It's the one I bought from the kids' section of Target. (Hooray for being small enough for that! Though it's imperative that an adult shopping in the kids' section can tell the difference between things that could possibly be made for an adult and things that are clearly for humans under 10-years-old. I believe I have the ability to make that judgment.) I paired the dress with a short sleeved cardigan for some color and my white sandals from Boohoo. And look! Another super messy bouffant because why not? dress: target | cardigan: forever 21 | sandals: boohoo | hair bow: handmade | glasses: zenni optical | earrings: great grandma's? So how is your week...

Work Outfit: Silver Top, Handmade Red Floral Skirt, and Silver Sandals

Image
There's something about mixing cool and warm tones that's unexpected and interesting. I enjoy doing it with my makeup, but I decided to try it with my clothes this time! This silver shirt was originally bought as part of an interview outfit but it's versatile enough to wear any time. I paired it with a handmade pleated skirt speckled with orange-y red floral.  These pictures were taken around my new apartment. I'm still trying to figure out some go-to places to take pictures where there aren't ten thousand people staring. It's very awkward taking outfit pictures with a ton of people around, but I'm in the city now so I guess I'll have to get used to it! It's been crappy outside pretty much every other day since I moved too, so there have been even fewer days I could take pictures. I'll get my crap together soon and figure everything out. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic weekend. I'm definitely excited it's Friday! ...

Outfit: Fox Print Top, High Waisted Jeans, Brown Clogs, and a Leopard Print Bag

Image
Guess who has some recent pictures to show you? Matt and I took a short walk on the Atlanta BeltLine yesterday and snapped a few photos of my comfy outfit before heading to dinner. I actually wore this outfit to work because it was a casual day, but I've worn this top, jeans, and shoes together with other accessories before. It's a favorite go-to of mine that I hadn't posted here yet!  This fox print top seems to go with everything and I really think it dresses up a standard pair of jeans. The flutter sleeves are kind of fancy, right? I also enjoyed how my leopard print purse looked with the fox print. Who says I can't wear two animal prints at once? Although it probably helps that the fox print is literal foxes and not the print on a fox. (Which would be what? Red?)  Anyway, these clogs are also my favorite lately if you haven't noticed. Never did I think I'd like clogs but these ones are so not frumpy while still being comfortable. Because you guys...

Outfit: White Polka Dot Top, Red Neoprene Skater Skirt, and Cat Eye Glasses

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This outfit was a fun weekend look from a couple weeks ago. Matt and I hung out on the porch for a little while, enjoying the relatively mild warmth before Georgia turns into a fiery inferno. I miss wearing my short skater skirts during the work week so I've been taking advantage of them on the weekends. (I think I'd be able to wear some of them in the cool months with tights though! Looking forward to that.) This red skirt is so much fun and I couldn't believe I hadn't worn it with my polka dot button-down from H&M yet. Black, white, and red is always a good color combination in my book so I loved how this outfit turned out! top: h&m | skirt: sheinside | shoes: steve madden - shoe carnival |  headband: forever 21 | glasses: zenni optical I hope you all have a wonderful week to look forward to. I get to go to a digital marketing conference a couple days this week which will mix up my work day a bit. Then I'll be preparing ...

Work Outfit: Checkered Top, Classic Pencil Skirt, Purple Cardigan, and Silver Heels

Image
skirt: new york and company | top: boohoo | cardigan: forever 21 | shoes: christian siriano - payless | glasses: zenni optical Happy Friday! It's time for another work outfit to feast your eyes upon! I wore this a few weeks back during a client meeting and for the rest of the day. I've had this black pencil skirt in my closet but hardly wore it because it was a potential interview piece. I styled it with my checkerboard print top , silver shoes, and a purple cardigan.  It's definitely easy to incorporate pieces from your regular wardrobe into a work outfit when you have basic pieces. (Though I'm not the best at investing in staple pieces. Colorful or patterned clothes always interest me so much more!) Throwing your normal clothes into your work clothes rotation just makes your work wardrobe more "you." I'm not giving up colors or patterns or my bright hair!  How has your week been? I've been busy with work and am looking forward to so...

Outfit: Petite Dark Wash Bell Bottoms, Blue Striped Shirt, and Yellow Wedges

Image
Behold! I found a pair of bell bottoms for short women and they came from Old Navy! If you're short, you know how difficult it is to find properly fitting jeans outside of the straight leg or skinny styles. Skinny jeans and straight jeans can be hemmed and they'll generally look fine. With flares, you end up chopping off most of the flared part of the denim. Not only that, but the flare itself starts so far down on your leg it looks ridiculous. Needless to say, it was a journey trying to find bell bottoms made with a short inseam without having to spend over $150.  At a recent mall trip I noticed Old Navy had high waisted bell bottoms so I tried them on even though I knew they'd be way too long on me. My local Old Navy stores don't carry petite sizes so I had to cross my fingers and guess at a size to order online. The  high-rise rockstar flare-leg jeans  ended up fitting wonderfully with a pair of tall wedges. Unfortunately they don't carry the medium-was...
