Happy Christmas Eve and welcome to another The Fringe Off collaboration post! This time we're each styling metallics in different ways. I feel like metallic clothes and accessories are always in style around the holidays (although I wish more people wore them throughout winter since those months can be so drab.) I figured it would be a fun challenge to style this festive sequined skirt for a more casual day. Also this is probably the only metallic item available to me right now since most of my wardrobe is in a storage unit. #sad To make this skirt more appropriate for a day of shopping, present-wrapping, and wedding photographer research, I styled it with a very casual green ribbed t-shirt, my faux leather jacket, and a pair of black lace up flats from Modcloth. It's the new year! Before doing a roundup of 2015 I thought I'd show you what I wore on New Year's Eve yesterday while it's still slightly relevant. (Even though the holiday is over, I'm still looking forward to seeing what you all wore.) Again, I ask: why aren't sequins a-okay all year? Or at least through the rest of the winter months which kind of suck? I spotted this gold sparkly skirt at my last trip to Target and couldn't let it go. It was the last one left and in my size so I snatched it up! I already own a blue-green sequined skirt but it's okay to have two sequined skirts in one wardrobe, right? Just agree with me. I styled this incredibly sparkly skirt with a neutral color palate. Metallics and black always scream of New Year's Eve to me. Any excuse to wear a sequined skirt is a good enough excuse for me. I've worn this skirt on completely normal days too , but this specific outfit was worn at my sister's graduation party. Sequins and parties just go together! There's also a Little Mermaid feel going on with this skirt so I had to eventually pair it with this bold purple silk top. I thrifted this shirt a long while ago and love it but the wrinkles just do not want to come out. I tried my best! To accessorize, I added a short tie around my neck and my delightfully comfy two-toned Steve Madden flats that I got at Shoe Carnival for $15. Isn't it the best when a pair of shoes actually turn out to be substantially comfortable? It's kind of like a lottery when you buy a pair of shoes. Happy 2015! This incredibly sparkly ensemble was my New Year's Eve outfit. Is there a better time to wear a dress completely covered in sequins? I actually wore this same dress for Christmas Eve with red tights and blue shoes too, but never got a full picture of it. For New Year's Eve I styled my new dress with my ultra cool and quirky polka dot boots and a pair of super bright blue tights. I figured I may as well play up the loudness of the dress with bold accessories! You may have also seen me wearing this dress in the Delia's dressing room on my Instagram page , but if not here it is! This black sequined dress was my last purchase at the now-closing Delia's. During a trip to the mall before they were closing, I'd gazed at this dress from afar but willed myself to keep moving along. Happy Wednesday everyone! I wore this fairly holiday-tastic outfit to an informal dinner party the other week. This sequined top is a recent purchase because I couldn't resist its shininess (and the fact that it's a crop top which means it'll fit like a normal shirt). Everyone thought I looked like I was going to a Christmas party but I really just enjoy gold with red. I love that I can get away with as many sparkly items as I see fit at this time of year though! For this shirt's sequin-y debut I paired it with a trusty red wool pencil skirt I thrifted many years ago. This skirt is a standby during the winter months. Though it's perfectly snug around my waist so it's not the best choice when gorging on holiday meals. I've made it work though. It's nothing a little stealthy unbuttoning can't fix if I end up eating a few too many pierogies and produce a food baby. Anyway, maybe this outfit will give you some holiday inspiration. Happy happy Monday everyone! Can you believe it's already June? This past month went by so quickly and I still have a lot I want to do in the upcoming weeks! These pictures are from earlier in May when Matt and I went to the new Creature Comforts Brewery and wandered about town together. It was a really fun evening. Happy Monday! Today I'm reviewing eShakti , an online shop that specializes in clothes you can customize to your exact measurements.  I'm sure a lot of you fashion blog followers have seen eShakti mentioned before. It's really such a great idea for a store. First you choose from a frequently-updated array of dresses, tops, or skirts. (So frequent that my dress isn't in stock anymore!) They have a ton of classic and retro-inspired dresses so it was easy to find something I'd love. The standard size chart ranges from size 0 to 36w, but for $7.50 extra you can enter your exact measurements and have the clothes cut just for your shape. You can also customize different aspects like hem length and neckline. I definitely took advantage of the customization! My dress was originally a sleeveless design, but I added short sleeves. Hello and happy August! Seriously, how is it August? I'm already mourning the summer and my epic laziness. I bought this shirt on clearance at Target the other day for $10. I've been wanting more blouses, so this definitely was a great find. The colors are so pretty and I love a good bow collar. All the bright colors brightened up the cloudy day. I paired my fantastic high-waisted linen shorts with my new blouse.
