Petite Panoply

This was one of my favorite recent outfits. (I definitely wore this exact same thing more than once because I wanted to get a picture of it.) I'm not sure if it's because of all the matchy nude/maroon going on throughout the pieces or what, but I enjoyed it. I bought these Lucite heel nude boots for myself as a birthday gift back in October and this is probably my favorite way to wear them - with no tights and a cute skirt. I've found they work best that way since I haven't found a colored pair of tights that really looks right with them. If you have suggestions, please let me know! Happy Christmas Eve and welcome to another The Fringe Off collaboration post! This time we're each styling metallics in different ways. I feel like metallic clothes and accessories are always in style around the holidays (although I wish more people wore them throughout winter since those months can be so drab.) I figured it would be a fun challenge to style this festive sequined skirt for a more casual day. Also this is probably the only metallic item available to me right now since most of my wardrobe is in a storage unit. #sad To make this skirt more appropriate for a day of shopping, present-wrapping, and wedding photographer research, I styled it with a very casual green ribbed t-shirt, my faux leather jacket, and a pair of black lace up flats from Modcloth. I wear this skirt a lot.  It's the perfect skater skirt length, a slightly heavy material so it doesn't blow up in the wind too easily, and an extremely versatile maroon color. I styled it in my last outfit post too, but I hope you don't mind!  I spent a good amount of the weekend sorting through and editing my pictures from my trip to Europe and picked out a few of this outfit I wore in Bruges. I loved the way the blue tights and maroon skirt photographed together, especially when paired with my leopard print flats from Target! I topped everything off with my faux leather jacket which is on top of a gray mock turtleneck shirt that you can barely see here. It was too cold to walk around jacket-less! My Jo Totes bag here, the Abby model in black, was purchased new for the trip and was the absolute perfect size for traveling Europe. Happy Saturday to you! For this post-Thanksgiving weekend, here's an outfit that really represents my fall style this year before we head into Christmas-y holiday times. Something trendy, something trusty, cool tights, and novelty pins.  I found these tights from last year in a drawer (I'd forgotten they exist) and love them. They're the kind I'm scared to wear too often because I don't want them to get ruined. The top is new from H&M, the skirt is old from H&M, and my awesome novelty pins were a birthday present from my sister. I must be on a colorful skater skirt kick lately, so I apologize, but here's another outfit featuring one I've had for quite a while but don't wear nearly enough. In my previous outfit post I styled a colorful skater skirt for work , so here's an outfit I definitely wouldn't wear to work featuring a short skirt and crop top combination. It's perfect for these hot days we're still having in Georgia. The true star of this outfit is my awesome cat Leela pin from Danielle V Green Illustrations. She has a whole Halloween cat line with cats dressed as various characters. I love them so much. I bought two others that you'll see here at some point too - cat Ariel and cat Scully. I keep wearing them to work. I don't even care if people start thinking I'm weird. Long time no blog! I didn't realize it had been so long but life has been busy, including my weekends with Dragon Con last week and working on a new hairdo this weekend - more on that later. So it's definitely time to show you a new outfit and what better than to show you some new shoes?  These leopard print flats are from Target and you may still be able to find them. They also come in black. I love that they zip up the back so I don't have to fasten three buckles and so far they're really comfy. Definitely contenders in my "what shoes do I bring to Europe?" quandary. They go with pretty much everything too. This time I paired them with a new purple skater skirt from Boohoo. Sometimes I buy clothes at Walmart and I'm not even ashamed. The other day I was over there looking for pieces for a Dragon Con costume and came across a bunch of lace skater skirts. I'm a fan of khaki green as a neutral-that-isn't-neutral so I just had to buy this skirt. Plus it was like $8 and an appropriate-enough length to wear to work. Win. So for its debut I paired it with my cute fox print shirt from Boohoo, which is one of my favorites because it seems to look good with everything. I enjoyed the mix of muted green with orange which you don't often see.  This is the kind of outfit I wear when I want to pretend fall is around the corner even though it most definitely is not here in Georgia. Khaki green just feels like fall to me! I don't wear mixed prints as much as I used to so I was pretty excited when I paired these pieces together the other day. Something about the almost geometric cat print paired with the neutral leopard print worked very well. I was also a fan of all the neutrals and bronzey goodness going on in this look. Very summery! Plus my lipstick pretty much matched the color of my sandals. (BTW it's Zebra Ultra Metallic Lip by Colourpop and is still in stock as this is being published.) It can be hard to mix up your outfits when it's hot outside so trying out different print combinations is a good way to get different looks out of your summer pieces. Plus makeup. You can always just try out a bold lip color or some ultra colorful eye shadow to change things up too. I know lighter makeup is often the thing for summer, but wearing lipstick is much lighter than wearing an extra clothing layer, after all. What do you do to change things up when it's scorching outside? ...

We've come to the end of the road with my Las Vegas outfit posts. I guess there was only one before this but still. I brought my trusty maroon skater skirt with me on vacation because it looks great with pretty much anything. It was still the festive season so I paired it with a subtly sparkly silver sweater. The polka dot tights are another favorite that look good with nearly anything. I especially love how black looks paired with my maroon skirt too. That's a color scheme I'm sure you see me wear relatively often.  I really like this outfit, but then again it's hard not to like an outfit made up of favorite pieces and a pair of very comfy yet super cute shoes. It certainly was a great outfit choice for wandering down the Las Vegas Strip - comfy and stylish at the same time! Sometimes I like to save new pieces to wear for the first time over vacation, but other times I pack up only things I know I definitely enjoy wearing (and are comfortable). How about you? ...
