Outfit: Jean Jacket with a Floral Print Romper and Cutout Boots

Image
jean jacket: so... - thrifted | romper: xhileration - target | tights: walmart | boots: boohoo | necklace: gift | glasses: zenni optical I have a couple cooler weather outfits to show you from last month before they become extremely irrelevant. Here's one of them! For some reason I'd never worn tights with a romper before this. I guess I figured they're already so difficult to get off to use bathroom facilities that tights would add another awful step. Luckily they didn't make it a much larger problem. Plus this floral print romper is so incredibly short and flowy that the added tights coverage was nice.  This kind of felt like a fall outfit to me which is a-okay in my book. I'm actually dreading the humid summer heat we get here in Georgia and wish I could skip ahead to cooler days. You know how people dread winter because they hate leaving the house and going out in the cold? Well it's like that in the summer here - except hot. I spend most of the ti...

Outfit: Floral Bell Sleeved Dress, Pink Tights, and Brown Clogs

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This is yet another outfit I wore in Illinois in October. I really love this floral bell sleeved dress I picked up from Forever 21, so I keep trying to think of new ways to style it. Usually that means another color of tights or new shoes to switch it up but still show the sleeve detail. I know it'll be too cold to go without a jacket or sweater soon though! I've shown this dress with a jean jacket layered over top too which gives it a 90s vibe even though it covers the sleeves. Hooray remixing! This look has a very monochromatic feel. I enjoy seeing others rock monochromatic outfits so I hope I'm doing it well too. I didn't realize just how much magenta/pink stood out in the print until I saw these pictures. The dark pink tights really bring out that shade and make the whole outfit look very pink! Anyway, I added my new clogs because they're delightfully retro just like my dress.   dress: forever 21 | tights: kmart | shoes: korks -...

Polka Dot Bustier Top, Chambray Skirt, Orange Sunglasses, Red Purse, & Silver Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks back on a particularly warm day. Spring has been very up and down temperature wise so I was completely comfortable in this skin-baring outfit. Matt and I took a walk up to the Smoothie King and wandered around town a little bit. So this is an outfit I actually went out and did something in. Hence the addition of my red PepaLoves bag and smoothie accessory. I'm sure I complained about the heat at some point, but it was a very pleasant afternoon walk. Plus I got to break out some very summery clothes even though I'll probably be ready to put them away once June hits.  I really like how these pictures turned out. (Thanks Matt!) We were on our way back home when I saw the purple-y flowers next to a nearby sidewalk. How much more "spring" can it get than a bunch of flowers as a background for pictures? top, skirt, headband, sunglasses: forever 21 | sandals: shoe carnival | bag: c/o pepaloves | ...

Matching Polka Dot Separates!

Image
I'm pretty much in love with this outfit. I had been admiring the come-back of matching separates recently. When I found these matching separates at Forever 21 I was so excited that they fit perfectly and looked this cute. So, of course, I had to take them home with me. It's always great when a shopping trip ends up that successful! top & skirt: forever 21 | cardigan: ann taylor - thrifted | shoes: forever 21 | necklace: gift from Jeanie Also, bustier top! Hooray! I've been wanting one since last summer. This one is absolutely perfect for me though, so it was worth the wait. Polka dots and a bow are an instant win.  I can't remember any time I've had my stomach showing in an outfit other than a swimsuit. This is definitely a comfortable amount of skin though. It's more like a cutout than true belly-baring. When I think of stomachs showing I think of late 90s/early 2000's monstrosities. This is much more retro and classy! A...

Leopard High-Low Skirt, Orange Sunglasses, & a Pink T-shirt

Image
It was hot walking to class yesterday! I felt like wearing something that would be comfortable and light so I pulled out my slightly over-sized American Apparel t-shirt. I wore my leopard print dress as a skirt again too. I think I've worn it more this way than as a dress. It's really great that I can get two different looks out of it though!  Also, check out my newest pair of sunglasses! They're so big and orange! I love them. You can never have too many pairs of sunglasses. leopard print dress worn as a skirt: xhileration - target | t-shirt: american apparel - sam's club | belt: ralph lauren - thrifted | brown flats: xhileration - target | sunglasses, cameo necklace: forever 21 nails: o.p.i. - you only live twice, o.p.i. - when monkeys fly I was not feeling the heat yesterday at all. It wasn't even that bad, but when I walk quickly to class I end up sweaty and disgusting by the time I get there. I guess I should be used to this by no...

A Coral Orange Spring eShakti Dress & Floral Tights

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm excited to show you my new eShakti dress today! I was super pumped when eShakti contacted me to review a dress from their new spring collection . They always have a great selection of retro-inspired dresses and their new collection doesn't disappoint. There are plenty of bright colors to get you in the mood for spring! As you can see, my dress is a very bright coral orange. I don't own anything else in this shade so it was a fun challenge to style it. retro style poplin dress : c/o eShakti | wildflower mix tights : look from london - modcloth | shoes, necklace: forever 21 | belt: ralph lauren - thrifted  I decided to go for a 60's vibe in this outfit. It's kind of hard not to with this dress! Jeanie said I looked like Mad Men. (I said I looked really boobsy). My makeup certainly channeled the era in a slightly more modern way. I wish I would have had a better picture of it! I used eShakti's custom size fea...

Blue Lace Dress for a Valentine Date Night

Image
Happy Friday! I'm excited to share this outfit with you because I loved it so much. I wore this on Wednesday night for Matt and my Valentine date. I enjoy getting all dressed up, so I took my sweet time curling my hair and perfecting my makeup when I had the chance. I was saving my new Modcloth dress for this occasion too. It always feels good to wear a new dress! oh so quiet dress : modcloth | scalloped suede heels: daisy fuentes - kohl's? | backseam nylons: macy's | necklace: gift from Matt | belt: came with a forever 21 skirt  Heart nails were a necessary addition to a Valentine outfit. lipstick: wet n wild megalast - stoplight red Backseam tights! Finally! I got them over winter break at Macy's and they didn't break my bank account. I think Matt liked them too which is always a plus.  I can't wait to wear this dress again. It'll probably be in a more casual way next time, but I think I can make that work. Th...

Red Dress, Zebra Print, & Shaking My Head at Uptalkers

Image
I've been having a fine ol' time in the Land of Lincoln! We just make our rounds to the relatives/friends and visit. It's more exciting than sitting on the couch! Plus I have a reason to get dressed in real clothes each day since I actually have to leave the house and see people. If I know I'm not going anywhere at all and I'm at home I'll put on comfy pajama clothes for the whole day. It's a shameful secret, but it's not really a secret. Also, I'm not really ashamed. Being lazy in the summer is kind of my thing? (Yes, read that with an upward inflection. Speaking of upward inflections: Uptalkers. Those people who say everything like it's a question. Just imagine me shaking my head right now because that's what I'm doing.) These are my clothes: dress: modcloth.com cardigan, hair bow: forever 21 shoes: xhileration - target belt: thrifted necklace: from Italy Hello! I'm smiling right at you in this picture! Cr...
