Outfit: Gray Wool Coat, Leopard Print Circle Scarf, Maroon Skirt, and Sheer Leopard Tights

Image
I picked up this gray wool blend coat from a Forever 21 sale over the summer because I figured I could use a new coat in a neutral color once it got cold. I had no idea what "boucle" was though. It seemed like some sort of textured wool, which was pretty correct I think. Apparently boucle is an uneven weave formed into loops. If you didn't know that, you learned something new today! Anyway, this coat has been keeping me warm this season with its detachable faux fur collar. I've been pairing it with my gray leopard print circle scarf a lot, which you can see here. For this outfit, I went with some double leopard print. These tights were buried in a bag under my bed for some reason so that's why you haven't seen them in years. They have a hole in them (on the back) but I remembered it being a lot worse so I think they just were forgotten. Luckily the hole isn't bad enough to not wear them! I happily wore them with my maroon skater skirt again and a...

Outfit: Plaid Pleated Skirt, Blue Velvet Top, Jean Jacket, and Silver Shoes

Image
Sometimes I draw inspiration from the school uniforms I never had to wear. And by that I mean I wear this thrifted plaid skirt that I'm pretty sure was part of a child's school uniform. It fits like it was made for me and I love it. This time I paired it with a crushed velvet crop top and my jean jacket. I added silver accessories for some extra flair.  I really liked how this outfit turned out! It felt young, fun, and a little bit 90s-inspired. I always feel like I get bonus points when main parts of my outfit are thrifted too. 340 points for Hufflepuff! (Because, P.S. I'm a Hufflepuff according to Pottermore.) jean jacket: thrifted | velvet top: forever 21 | plaid skirt: thrifted | tights: forever 21 | shoes: sam & libby - target | necklace: sheinside Once again, I can't believe it's already Friday. I've hardly left the house the entire week. Just Tuesday to shop with store credit for a couple hours. Thus is the life of a job hunter. You ...

Outfit: Burgundy Leather Jacket and a Crushed Velvet Top Layered Over a Leopard Print Dress

Image
I picked up this crushed velvet crop top from Forever 21 a few weeks ago with a birthday gift card. I couldn't resist its delightful crushed velvety-ness! I actually had a dress in almost this exact same fabric but it was way too large in the shoulders and bust so I gave it to my sister. This crop top fits perfectly though! For its debut I layered it over a leopard print high-low dress I got at Target a couple years ago. Layering crop tops over dresses is a great way to remix your dresses without adding a lot of bulk. This was kind of a perfect way to make this dress work for fall since it has spaghetti straps. I added my burgundy leather jacket for extra warmth even though I wore this before that big cold front blew down here. I just realized that this is the third outfit post in a row featuring leopard print. I'm sorry for leopard overload! I promise I don't wear it every day. These just happen to be the outfits I got pictures of recently.  leopard dress: xhilerati...

Blue Crushed Velvet Dress, Leather Jacket, & Polka Dot Tights

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I re-discovered this blue crushed velvet dress packed away under my bed with other winter clothes. It fits a little big up top so I don't wear it as often as I could. I figured I better wear it this year or it isn't worth holding on to. I really like how it looked with my polka dot tights and a leather jacket. I actually went to see a roller derby bout in this outfit! If only I was cool enough (and had enough time and wasn't scared of getting elbowed in the face...) to try out roller derby! dress: calico | jacket: ross dress for less | tights: kmart | boots: hand-me-down | bow: handmade | necklace: noble town vintage Do you guys have any pieces in your wardrobe you don't wear very often but still hold on to? I'm sure you do! I have plenty. I'm getting to the point where I need to purge some stuff though. Particularly non-classic things that I haven't really worn and things I thrifted but never altered. I'll defini...

Blue Crushed Velvet

Image
Hooray for Friday! I'm glad it's the weekend, but I have a lot of catching up on school reading to do this weekend. Lame. This is my outfit from last Friday. I wore my velvet dress again. I'm going to have to wear it as much as possible before it gets too hot outside. dress:  shopcalico.com cardigan: mossimo; target shoes: xhileration; target belt: thrifted necklace: from Italy headband: forever 21 It appears that I'm staring into your soul. The more I look at that picture, the more scared I am. For that, I am sorry. I really liked this yellow cardigan with my blue velvet dress. It got a bit annoying later on, though because the cardigan sleeves didn't want to pull all the way up if that makes any sense. The shoulders in the dress are too big on me so I think that contributed. You can't tell all that much when I wear something over them, though! Looking at these pictures, I quite enjoy the length of this dress. I c...

The Day I Looked Crazy

Image
I redeemed this fun crushed velvet dress on Chictopia recently and couldn't wait to wear it. I wanted to mix it up a little and do some layering underneath it since it's still cool-ish outside. However when I got to class I realized I looked kind of crazy. It's only fair for me to share this outfit with you! dress: shopcalico.com top: thrifted tights, headband: forever 21 loafers: merona; target sunglasses: kohls The customer service was really nice over at Calico. They offered me either the large or small for this dress. It ended up being a bit big on me because they didn't have a medium, but I figured it was better to have it a little too big than too tight, right?  I have too much little crap to do for school this week. And also two exams on Friday. Hooray...  I have my check list of things and I'm checking the off. A nap might be in order first though. Happy Monday!
