Outfit: Hot Pink Laser Cut Crop Top, White Skinny Jeans, and Floral Wedges

Image
I don't think you can go wrong with a good crop top and high waisted jeans combination when it's warm outside, although it may have been a bit toasty for jeans when I wore this. I picked up these bright white skinny jeans from Boohoo recently. They're labeled as mid rise, but they're most definitely high rise on my body and on the picture online. If you're going to pick up a pair, I might recommend sizing down because they're extra stretchy which means they're extra comfy but might fall down a little without a belt. Anyway, when Tobi sent me this hot pink crop top I knew it would pair perfectly with my new white jeans. Hot pink and white is just a winning color combination! Very Legally Blonde - except I have red hair. I don't own nearly enough pink clothing so I was super pumped to get this top with its fantastic laser cutout sleeves. It's a perfect cropped length on me and a sturdy material with a zip down the back. Bonus: It's on clea...

Work Outfit: White Shift Dress with Sheer Cutouts and Two-toned Flats

Image
Happy Monday! I picked up this shift dress from Boohoo.com a little while back and waited to wear it for some reason. I don't know why, because I love it! I don't have a lot of shift dresses so this one was a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I love the modern mesh cutouts with the classically shaped dress. It also has a texture that reminds me of a reptile print when you look at it up close. I'm sure I'll figure out plenty of ways to wear this white dress but I kept it pretty simple and a little retro for its first time out.  This hugely messy bouffant was a test to see if I could manage getting my hair up. It's long enough with a ton of bobby pins, but I'm still not very skilled at fixing my hair. I blame it on having a hairdresser mom who does my hair way better (and faster) than I ever could. Therefore I never had to learn how to fix mine. That's okay though. My strategy is to throw a giant bow on it. Try it. It helps! dress: boohoo | shoes:...

Outfit: Green Floral Fit & Flare Dress with Nude Heels

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I actually wore this outfit three weeks ago and am just now getting around to posting it. I bought this Jack by BB Dakota dress from Modcloth during one of their summer sales for a ridiculously cheap price. You don't see enough pretty green dresses and I love how green looks on me so I snagged it up! Plus look at how pretty this print is and the interesting cutout at the neckline. It'd be a great dress to wear to a spring wedding but I think I could easily style it casually. For its debut I wore it to a local production of Mary Poppins. It was very hot outside so it was a day to not layer (which is about 70% of Georgia days in a year). I just paired my grad school graduation heels with it and a couple family rings I had in a drawer. dress: jack by bb dakota - modcloth | shoes: xappeal - rack room shoes | rings: hand me downs My new dress fits almost perfectly but there's a little "wonkiness" around the cutout. When I have probl...

Dragon Con Outfit: Star Trek Print Matching Separates and Blue Wedges

Image
This is my last Dragon Con related post this year, I promise! I wore this Star Trek print matching set the first day so I was able to take proper pictures of it at home before leaving. It was, of course, handmade by my mom because she's a wizard. She found this fabric and decided I needed a matching set. Who can argue with that? Matching separates are basically my favorite things lately. I'm sure you'll be seeing me style these pieces separately too! So what do you think? I love this set! The top is different from other shirts I own. The cutout in the front is really neat and I love the back of it too.  Unfortunately I have to wear those sticky bra things with it because a normal bra shows through the cutout. The one I have is pretty comfy though so I was comfortable wearing this outfit all day. Plenty of people positively commented on my "dress" at Dragon Con too. Hooray for having a one-of-a-kind outfit! star trek set: handmade | shoes: xappeal - rack roo...

Outfit: Polka Dot Boots, Purple Band T-shirt, and a Black Skirt with Mesh Cutout

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This is an outfit I wore out with friends to see a free outdoor concert. The band played only 80s songs so it was pretty great in my book. This kind of look is one of my go-to's when I'm unsure what exactly to wear. I just wanted to wear my new polka dot boots from Boohoo so this is what I quickly came up with. But seriously, how cool are these boots? They're going to be extra awesome in the fall with some fun tights. I still have a couple months of hot weather though so how would you style these boots in a hot weather sort of way? top: new pornographers concert | skirt: forever 21 | boots: boohoo | bow: handmade In other news I'm leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow so I'm busy scheduling out posts for the week! It's hard to get ready to go on vacation when the internet keeps on moving without you. I have stuff for my part time work to schedule out for the week too. Hopefully there's enough time for me to do all of this plus pa...

Outfit: Red Matching Separates with Gold Leaf Earrings and Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I'm so excited to finally show you the new matching set I bought last month. It had a broken zipper but was the only one left in my size so I bought it knowing it needed to be repaired. Mom recently stuck a new zipper in it for me since I'm not a sewing wizard. This set was only about $20 so I consider that a bargain even if it needed a repair.  I can't get enough of matching separates. They're super on trend, highly remixable, and easy to style simply for summer. For the debut of this red and navy blue matching set I added some large gold leaf earrings and my trusty brown clog sandals. I've already worn the skirt on its own and plan on styling the top with different bottoms too. That's the beauty of these sets. Once it's not cool to wear clothes that match perfectly you can wear them separately! As of now I'm enjoying that these sets are in style again. They remind me of the matching separates Mom would make us when we were l...

Lace Blouse + New Layout

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a nice weekend so far. I pretty much just worked on a new layout for this blog for the past two days. I'm pretty happy about it. I've been feeling really clean looks, so this definitely works. I wore this outfit the other day when I went to take some pictures for a friend. I'm not a professional photographer so I worry when people want me to take pictures for them. His thought was that they'd be better than his because I have a nice camera. Not really sure that's what makes the pictures good, but I agreed. I'm scared to look at them in case they turned out horrible... I'll share if they're decent though! dress, hair bow: forever 21 | lace top: kohls | belt: ralph lauren - thrifted | shoes: bongo - kmart | earrings: great grandma collection Happy Saturday!  P.S.: Check out my "follow" links on the right and be my friend on things! Because I'm super cool and all.

Who's That Girl?

Image
....It's Jamie! Although I received multiple comments about looking like/dressing like Zooey Deschanel the day I wore this. I get compared to her pretty frequently, but I think that's a compliment! top: forever 21 pants: fashion bug cardigan: h&m shoes: ross dress for less? belt: thrifted Now that it's Wednesday, I'm pretty pumped that I made it through my two essays due within the span of four days. I had quite the freak out on Monday afternoon when I realized I hadn't started the actual writing process of my essay due the next day. It was intense. I drank a lot of breakfast tea until the wee hours of the morning. Now that that's over, I have to read a crap load of crap for an exam on Friday. Will it ever end?! Just a little over a month and I'll be graduated. I remind myself that, but then my brain also reminds me I decided to do grad school next fall.  So that is that. My life is school at the moment, but I'll ha...

Rue De Lis

Image
Happy Tuesday! I actually got out of the house today to go thrifting at our favorite thrift store. It was 50 cent Tuesday today so we just had to go! Yes, everything in the store was 50 cents. I picked up a few summery tops that I can't wait to wear with high-waisted shorts. This top is one of my favorites because of the cool cutout shoulders. Plus the print has the two colors I wear most lately: Navy and Red. Jeanie wore her new high-waisted shorts too. I like her casual outfit today. She hasn't worn her high shorts out much without me, which is sad because they're awesome. She thinks her boyfriend will make fun of her. But I tell her she shouldn't care. shorts: Forever 21 top: Forever 21 shoes: Target belt: thrifted sunglasses: Forever 21 hat: H&M bracelet: vintage
