Outfit: Green Floral Fit & Flare Dress with Nude Heels

Happy Monday everyone! I actually wore this outfit three weeks ago and am just now getting around to posting it. I bought this Jack by BB Dakota dress from Modcloth during one of their summer sales for a ridiculously cheap price. You don't see enough pretty green dresses and I love how green looks on me so I snagged it up! Plus look at how pretty this print is and the interesting cutout at the neckline. It'd be a great dress to wear to a spring wedding but I think I could easily style it casually.

For its debut I wore it to a local production of Mary Poppins. It was very hot outside so it was a day to not layer (which is about 70% of Georgia days in a year). I just paired my grad school graduation heels with it and a couple family rings I had in a drawer.

My new dress fits almost perfectly but there's a little "wonkiness" around the cutout. When I have problems with dresses they usually involve my boobs / short torso. I think the fabric might lay better if there wasn't as much boobage going on, but I'm not going to complain about that! It's good enough. 





Contrary to what I thought, I actually had a pretty busy weekend! I went to a music school fundraising event with big band music on Friday and celebrated an old friend's birthday on Saturday. The birthday celebration was pretty awesome. We ate real Korean BBQ with the stove in front of us and then went to karaoke where the birthday boy and I were the only ones actually singing. There was a rendition of "The Humpty Dance" along with songs from Grease and many Disney movies. It was a pretty solid evening of much needed fun!

What about you guys? Did you do anything fun this weekend? I feel like I ask you that every week but I'm always interested to hear if anything exciting happened for you!

Ah yes, the boob problem, I have small boobs and I would gladly trade mine for yours, lol :D I think the cut out looks just awesome, don't see a problem there!

Green is definitely your colour, it compliments your skin tone and hair perfectly! I made the most of the end of the sunshine this weekend and went to the beach... Oh it was lush!

Aahahchcjk! I love how whenever your pictures pop up on my Twitter/Instagram/wHATEVAH it's just this awesome palette of colors that floods my eyes and mind and heart with all these happy, artsy feels. THESE COMPLEMENTARY COLORS ARE BANGIN', DUDE! You rock that cute dress.

This weekend I went out and took pictures in a decrepit outhouse, but that was about it. I did not do any football game-ing (or as they call it down here, "Roll Tide"-ing) but instead some art things.. it was productive. I'm glad that yours was awesome, too. :D

I am all too familiar with the extra abundant boob problem! So many cute cutouts, so few that actually work right. However, this dress totally gives me an idea for a Triforce cut out dress!

Wow that dress is amazing! Your right green is a great colour for you and I love the subtle print. In the photos at least the dress looks like it fits you like a glove. The cutout just gives it that something extra special. A fantastic look!

Green is one of my favourite colours to wear, but I not a colour I buy that often. I don't know why, but that seems to be the case with colours. Cut outs can be a little weird, but I like the position of this one. It's also a really good length of skirt.

We had a good Saturday, we went to a zoology museum and looked at a selection of animals in formaldehyde and some awesome skeletons. Looking forward to putting that post together :) Sunday was the classic lazy day, but we did cook a nice lemon and garlic chicken :)

LOVE this color with your hair, Jamie!!! I totes am with you on boob-window dresses/tops. It's hard for me to find tops with cutouts or lace that don't stop way too low!

This dress is so gorgeous on you, I'm glad you were able to get it at a steal! I know what you mean about not being able to layer this time of year. I would love to put more creativity into my outfits but it's just too damn hot!

It looks so cute on you- what a great score! I didn't find anything in the last blowout, but I think I looked too late in the game. You're right, this looks cute dressed up but I could totally see it as a more casual look too!

Boobs can be such a pain...lol. I hate when the cutout is in the back and it's RIGHT where my bra strap would be. Don't they know that I can't just go around braless with these things I gotta lug around on my chest? Anyway....is that ring aquamarine? It's really pretty! I love that green on you too, especially with your hair. :)

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
