Work Outfit: Dark Blue Lace Dress with White Strappy Sandals

Image
Happy Thursday to you! Here's another summery work outfit for you to feast your eyes upon (or something like that.) I picked up this navy blue lace dress from Goodwill on the same trip that I found the little polka dot romper I featured on here a few weeks back. It was hidden way back in the overstuffed racks between some unsightly dresses, but that's the beauty of thrifting. I sift through everything because you never know what you'll spot! This dress is likely from Modcloth too. I can't remember the exact brand because I'm too lazy to go upstairs and look at the tag, but it was definitely the same as a dress I have from Modcloth. So that's a thrifting win! I really like the low V-back and the pretty navy blue shade of this dress. Plus it fit me so comfortably. For its debut I wore it to work with a pair of white strappy sandals with chunky heels and a couple new bronze leaf hair clips. The hair clips are surprisingly difficult to pull out of my hair tho...

Work Outfit: Sky Blue Lace Dress, Pink Cardigan, and Holographic Flats

Image
I'm so in love with this little pink cropped cardigan I ordered off of Amazon. It's the absolute perfect length on my short torso and a nice, soft, stretchy knit. From what I read, it's the same cardigan as the Modcloth Dream of the Crop cardigan , except it's available in more colors on Amazon (and cheaper.) I may even pick up some more colors in the near future! I just can't believe I have tons of cardigans and had no pink one until now.  I wore it to work for it's first day out, paired with my light blue lace dress from Forever 21 clearance, a black and gold flower necklace, and my holographic peep toe flats. I've been wearing the shoes I can't really walk long distances in now that I'm driving to work again. These flats are comfortable enough, but for some reason the top part rubs the top of one of my toes on one foot so they're not good for distance. It's unfortunate because they're pretty cool! dress, necklace, shoes: fo...

Outfit: Green Flutter Sleeve Palm Tree Print Dress and Black Wedges

Image
This Wolf & Whistle abstract palm tree print dress has become a new favorite because of the perfect fit and fantastic flutter sleeves. I picked it up at Modcloth on sale a little while back and had worn it previously on a very cold trip to Terrapin Brewery where it was covered by a wool coat the entire time. For its blog debut, I styled it on a hot day with some black wedges, my Cameoko gold hexagon necklace, and a pair of black wayfarer sunglasses. I wore this for my sister's grad school graduation and it was quite toasty outside walking around taking graduation pictures (and these) so please overlook any splotchy hot weather skin going on. dress : wolf & whistle - modcloth | wedges: y not? - shoe carnival | necklace: c/o cameoko | sunglasses: boohoo | purse: madden girl - ross How has your weekend been? I hope safe! The news of yet another mass shooting put a damper on this weekend. Plus we're currently packing our apartment to move to another place...

Outfit: White Sleeveless Shirt Dress, Gold Belt, & Snakeskin Flats

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This summery white cotton dress is the last piece online retailer Tobi sent me to style. It's a fantastic staple to have in my closet and I've already worn it a couple different ways. I do wish it was a little less easy to wrinkle but I guess that's what you get with cotton. The size I ordered (M) was just slightly too big for me too, so I had to watch my side bra area wasn't hanging out, (but it was remedied with a different bra on another wear.) Other than that, the dress has pockets and is lined to prevent any white cotton transparency issues! They even have it in black if you prefer that, but I think I have plenty of black dresses already. For this dress' first day out, I styled it with a stretchy gold belt that looks like gold coins. I thrifted the belt last year because I thought it was so neat and didn't wear it until yesterday! Do you ever do that? Sometimes you just have to buy things when you're thrifting even if yo...

Work Outfit: Light Blue Jersey Knit Dress and White Block Heels

Image
I'm a big fan of what I call "pajama dresses," which are really just jersey knit skater dresses . They're comfortable enough to sleep in, yet can look 100% put-together if styled nicely. That's exactly what I did with this light blue dress California-based shop Tobi sent me to style. (Someone even asked me why I was dressed so nice at the dog park! I told them I just came from work, of course.) For the debut of my newest pajama dress, I added my silvery beaded Stella and Dot necklace and a pair of white block heel sandals from Forever 21. I actually bought the shoes back in December on sale and had to wait for it to warm up to finally wear them. Happily, they're comfortable enough to walk back and forth to work, which is really all I can ask in a pair of cheap shoes.  daydreaming skater dress : c/o tobi | shoes : forever 21 | necklace: stella & dot | sunglasses: forever 21 Check out more from Tobi:  shorts  |  jewelry  |  casual dresses ...

Outfit: Rainbow Paint Splatter Dress with Yellow Wedge Sandals

Image
This was the first time I wore this paint splatter print dress and it was crazy how many positive comments I got on it! I guess it's a pretty unique pattern, which would be why I couldn't resist it. It was such an inexpensive purchase that I wasn't really expecting it to fit so well, but it's kind of perfect for my 4'11" body. Not too long in the torso, and short, but not obscenely short. It's still on sale, so if any of you other petite people are interested, it's there. For reference, I bought a size medium.  For its debut I styled it with some bright yellow wedges I picked up at Target on clearance a couple years back and a little red hair bow. It ended up a perfectly bright, spring-y outfit. (I actually wore this back on Easter so the pictures have been sitting on my computer for a while. Oops!) dress : shein | wedges: target | hair bow: forever 21 I threw in our little family picture above for good measure. Riker is a big boy now...

Outfit: Navy Blue Polka Dot Swing Dress with Off White Belt and Heels

Image
My style swings in a lot of different directions and one of them is girly retro goodness like this. I picked up this Lindy Bop Hetty dress from an epic clearance sale they had going on a couple months ago. I'd never ordered from them before so I was kind of holding my breath wondering if it would fit correctly. Thankfully it did! It just needed a couple inches taken off the length which is pretty par for the course considering I'm not even 5 feet tall. For its first day out I swapped out the belt that came with it for a thinner, off white one I thrifted. The belt that came with it was great quality but just a little too wide for my tiny tiny torso. My shoes have been with me for quite a few years now and are always a spring favorite. I liked that they matched my belt. Matchy matchy just felt right with this super retro dress. hetty dress : lindy bop | belt: thrifted | shoes: bongo - kmart I hope you all had a good week. Mine kind of flew by but I'm not c...

Outfit: Striped Dress, Blue Plaid Coat, Knee Socks, and a White Knit Scarf

Image
The amount of stripey patterns going on in this outfit makes me happy. I didn't originally plan to wear this blue plaid coat when I put on the rest of my clothes, but the added color and pattern adds a lot to my outfit. There might be too much going on for some, but I enjoyed it! It was perfect for wandering around Piedmont Park with Matt and Riker. Although at one point it got a little warm and I had to take my scarf off. Oh well! This striped fit and flare dress is one of the comfier options in my closet. It feels like pajamas which is almost always a plus. Then I layered some herringbone fishnet tights with black knee socks - because why not? The wedge boots were a practical, yet stylish choice because they're incredibly comfortable to walk in. Finally, I wore my big blue Firmoo glasses since they hadn't seen daylight in a while. Overall, a busy, yet comfy outfit for a warm winter day. coat: target | dress: forever 21 | tights: kohls? | socks: target | wed...
