Outfit: Concert Tee, Black Denim Mini Skirt, Pink Tights, and White Converse

Image
Here I am wearing a concert t-shirt again. At this point I'm not sure I'll ever stop wearing them. Maybe when I'm 70 I won't wear them with bright pink tights and white wedge Converse, but really, who knows? Maybe we'll all be dressing like Zenon : Girl of the 21st Century by then. (I can only hope.) And if I really take a look at this outfit, all I need is a colorful vest and I may as well have come off the space station. They really liked vests in that movie. I guess they don't need sleeves when everything's climate controlled? It is, however, not climate controlled outside in Atlanta. These pictures are from a couple months ago but it still hasn't reliably warmed up here yet. Also, my hair is now completely different since I had it chopped off again into an asymmetrical pixie a couple weeks ago. Outfit: Vintage 70s Button Down and Black Zippered Mini Skirt

Image
There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Especially when there's actually ice and snow on the ground. Sps...

Outfit: Ruffled Blouse, Denim A-Line Skirt, and Red Pom Pom Flats

Image
It's beginning to feel like the wheel of hair colors around here. By the time I get a chance to take new outfit photos, my hair has changed color from the last post! Even these pictures from last month are outdated as far as my hair goes! Right this moment it's a shade of gray since it's about time to start phasing out the pink in time for the wedding (and I'd like it blonde for a couple Dragon Con costumes.) I've really enjoyed all the different colors over the past few months though.  Now about the outfit: The red pom pom flats are clearly the star of the show here. I ordered them online at Forever 21 during a BOGO clearance sale since I couldn't resist the colorful pom poms. They worked perfectly with a go-to denim button down skirt and a white blouse. Those simple pieces let the shoes steal the spotlight in a good way. They also kept the denim skirt/white blouse combo from looking too country - a style that's just not my thing. top, shoes: ...

Outfit: Black Denim Zip Up Skirt with Quirky Pink T-shirt

top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.  I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! Sorry you can't really see it in the full body picture, but you can see it in a picture Matt took of me in the hotel room.  So how have...

Outfit: Denim Button Down Skirt, Red Striped Shirt, and Silver Sandals

Image
One of my favorite color combinations to wear in the summer is red, white and blue - which is especially perfect around Independence Day! I wore this simple outfit over the weekend to a trip to a dog park, to the mall, and to see the new Legend of Tarzan movie (which I thoroughly enjoyed.)  I've been feeling wearing denim much more often, especially when paired with a good striped shirt. Sometimes it's nice to keep things simple and classic. I still have some fun going on with the silver shoes and red sunglasses, but a striped shirt and denim pairing is a time-honored look. And for a reason! It looks good and never goes out of style. When wearing classic combinations, it's just good to keep your denim pieces somewhat up to date to keep from looking frumpy or out of style.  This skirt was an ASOS find late last year and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. It may be in my bag to take on our trip to Europe later this year because it goes with everything and is...

Outfit: Seafoam Cable Knit Sweater over a Flannel Top, Denim Button Down Skirt, and Blue Tights

Image
Happy Leap Day to you! Now that it's nearly March I figure I better show you this layer-tastic outfit from January before you're all completely sick of cool weather looks. I'm just a bit behind in my backlog of outfits. I really enjoyed the layering and colors in this look though.  I enjoy the cable knit sweaters I own but I do find them a little bulky, especially when I want to layer a shirt underneath. Tucking in my tops ensures I'm proportioned well without having to cut length off of all my shirts, which would be pretty difficult for sweaters. So, to get to the point, I was feeling a little bulky here, but still cute so it's okay. I layered a go-to flannel shirt under my blue-green sweater and added a cool vintage pin which I think was my Great Grandma's. This ASOS denim skirt has been getting plenty of wear lately because it's neutral and goes with pretty much everything, so I threw it on too. (Please excuse the wrinkles. I was sitting at wo...

Outfit: Tacky Green Penguin Sweater, Black Leather Jacket, and a Denim Button Down Skirt

Image
I apologize for the crappy hallway shots but I couldn't resist quickly taking pictures of this outfit before it was dark outside. This sweater is another one I found in the kids' section at Target. It's super comfy and just the right size. I think the penguins are super cute and I always enjoy shades of green paired with my red hair. For my penguin sweater's debut, I added a new button down skirt from ASOS - which is really quite a sturdy denim - and a new pair of wedge ankle boots. I didn't need another pair of black ankle boots but for some reason I couldn't resist these. They turned out to be incredibly comfortable too, which is always a great surprise because you never really know when a pair of shoes will be super comfy until you've bought them.  jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | sweater: lol vintage - target | skirt: c/o asos | boots: target | hair bow: forever 21 I wore this outfit to work on a day when we did some co...

Outfit: Elephant Graphic Tank Top, Dotted Denim Skirt, Silver Sandals, & Red Sunglasses

Image
I'm just now getting to pictures from Fourth of July weekend but I'm really excited to share them! It's nice to have something different to show you. Matt and I took a short trip down to the very southernmost coast of Georgia to a town called St. Mary's and bopped around for about a day total. These photos were taken the first evening on the shore near its little downtown area.  This is what I wore in the car for hours so it had to be a super comfy outfit but still cute enough to wear around all day. I went with my new elephant graphic tank top I got at the Mother Mother concert and a light denim polka dot skirt. I wore my trusty silver sandals the entire trip - even on Cumberland Island - and they may have gotten a little dirty and gross. I still need to deep clean them somehow but I think they've definitely seen better days and there's no turning back. That's disappointing because they're probably the most comfortable sandals I own! Do you ever...

Polka Dot Bustier Top, Chambray Skirt, Orange Sunglasses, Red Purse, & Silver Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks back on a particularly warm day. Spring has been very up and down temperature wise so I was completely comfortable in this skin-baring outfit. Matt and I took a walk up to the Smoothie King and wandered around town a little bit. So this is an outfit I actually went out and did something in. Hence the addition of my red PepaLoves bag and smoothie accessory. I'm sure I complained about the heat at some point, but it was a very pleasant afternoon walk. Plus I got to break out some very summery clothes even though I'll probably be ready to put them away once June hits.  I really like how these pictures turned out. (Thanks Matt!) We were on our way back home when I saw the purple-y flowers next to a nearby sidewalk. How much more "spring" can it get than a bunch of flowers as a background for pictures? top, skirt, headband, sunglasses: forever 21 | sandals: shoe carnival | bag: c/o pepaloves | ...

Tie Dye with Polka Dots

Image
I've gotten so much use out of this polka dotted kids' skirt. I've only had it a few months, but it seems to go with so many different tops! It also helps that it was really inexpensive. I think it was something around $7 on clearance? Good times. This time I paired it with a clearance tie-dye shirt I got from Target a while back. I've worn this shirt more often this year than the year I bought it! I've just really been liking my sleeveless tops like this lately. Sorry I look kind of weirdly tired in these pictures. They were taken after a long day of class and making dinner and life. skirt: target | top: merona - target | sandals: solanze - shoe carnival | bracelet: jigsaw london The writing on my hand is room numbers. Who has time to look for a piece of paper or remember what room to look for? Not this girl. I hope you have a good start to your week. I just hope I survive class today. Though that's always what I hope for.  Happy Monda...
