Outfit: Striped Dress, Blue Plaid Coat, Knee Socks, and a White Knit Scarf

Image
The amount of stripey patterns going on in this outfit makes me happy. I didn't originally plan to wear this blue plaid coat when I put on the rest of my clothes, but the added color and pattern adds a lot to my outfit. There might be too much going on for some, but I enjoyed it! It was perfect for wandering around Piedmont Park with Matt and Riker. Although at one point it got a little warm and I had to take my scarf off. Oh well! This striped fit and flare dress is one of the comfier options in my closet. It feels like pajamas which is almost always a plus. Then I layered some herringbone fishnet tights with black knee socks - because why not? The wedge boots were a practical, yet stylish choice because they're incredibly comfortable to walk in. Finally, I wore my big blue Firmoo glasses since they hadn't seen daylight in a while. Overall, a busy, yet comfy outfit for a warm winter day. coat: target | dress: forever 21 | tights: kohls? | socks: target | wed...

Outfit: Galaxy Print Dress Over a Turtleneck Sweater, Herringbone Fishnets, and Silver Shoes

Here it is again, the fantastic galaxy print dress Jessica of Midwest Muse let me borrow! I wore this outfit at least a month ago when it was a bit cooler outside. I layered a thrifted mock turtleneck sweater underneath and added some herringbone print tights. You may also notice that my hair bow almost perfectly matches the dress. How could I resist the urge to pair two galaxy print things together? heart and solar system dress: modcloth - borrowed from Jessica | sweater, belt: thrifted | tights: kohl's? | shoes: sam & libby - target | hair bow: handmade So this dress is definitely going on my to-buy list when it's back in my size (along with this Audrey 2 print dress at Pinup Girl Clothing.) Not that I need any more dresses. My closet is overflowing with dresses and I still want more. It's a problem. There are probably a couple that could go to Goodwill to free up some space though... Anyway, are you happy it's finally the weekend? The week...

Outfit: Sleeveless Black Dress over a Plaid Shirt, Herringbone Tights, and Bronze Shoes

Image
I realized there was something familiar about this outfit a couple hours into wearing it. Last March I wore this dress layered over a button down top with these exact same tights! Sure, the button down was cat print last time , but there's still a distinct similarity going on. Either way, I enjoyed how this outfit turned out. I layered a new plaid shirt from H&M under my little sleeveless black dress. This dress is worn with tops layered underneath way more often than not. It just works so perfectly as a sort of jumper. I've had this inexpensive dress for many years now and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. I guess a simple piece that really fits well gets plenty of use. Go figure. Other things that made this dress and tights combination different from last time is the addition of my new fringe ear cuff and my comfy bronze shoes. The ear cuff was a Christmas gift from Jeanie. I love the way it looks but I can only wear it for a few hours before it hurts my ear. The...

Outfit: Floral Crop Top, Leather Skater Skirt, Fishnet Tights, and Black Loafers

I'm trying to force fishnet tights to make a comeback. I've worn a slightly less traditional pair of fishnet(y) tights on the blog before, but these are straight up traditional fishnets. They've been in my drawer for many years. I wore these to my freshman homecoming so it's the truth when I say they're old! They're actually a really nice pair of sturdy tights, not the fishnets that come with a crappy "sexy" Halloween costume. However you have to be careful that your outfit doesn't actually look like a sexy Halloween costume when you wear fishnets. I don't think a lot of people know it's possible to wear them with a daytime outfit. I think I succeeded in looking like a (relatively) normal human being. Wearing flats and not platform heels may be the key. Plus a fine fishnet pattern, if that makes any sense. Does anyone else think tights like these look really cool from afar? I'm always a fan of pieces that add a neat texture to an ou...
