Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Image
I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!  Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt. top: target | skirt: handmade | shoes: amazon I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eat...

Outfit: White Lace Up Top, Red Geometric Floral Mini Skirt, and Tall Brown Ankle Boots

Image
I really miss wearing my mini skirts because they're not exactly "work appropriate" and I can't wear one every single weekend or I'd be missing out on all my other clothes. When I put this outfit on I just stood in front of the mirror and was like, "yes. return to me oh mini skirt goodness!" Plus the combination of the ruffled and lace up top with the pattern in the skirt was calling to me. Then I added in the super tall retro-looking ankle boots and I'm pretty sure this outfit turned out perfect.  I wasn't going to do the whole lace up shirt trend (because I had one back when they were last in style when I was in middle school) but this one was right up my alley with the addition of ruffles. I can see myself styling this shirt a lot of different ways this spring. Unfortunately I probably can't wear it to work either because of the whole seeing-my-bra-through-the-lace-up-part-if-you-look-closely-enough. So this is my delightful, not-w...

Outfit: Vintage Floral Skirt, Black Lace Top, Silver Triangle Necklace, & Pink Sandals

Image
This vintage floral skirt is one of my favorites. The colors are fantastic and pair so nicely with a lot of other colors. This time I paired it with some slightly edgy pieces to contrast with the super girly print. This black lace top from H&M goes with pretty much everything, but it's a crop top so it can be hard to keep tucked in to a skirt like this which isn't entirely tight around my waist. I added a brand new silver triangle necklace I bought from a Modcloth sale and some pink sandals I'm pretty sure I've had since high school. top: h&m | skirt: thrifted | shoe: ross | necklace: modcloth As of tonight I'm officially on my labor day weekend. I'm super pumped about it because not only do I have 2 days off work but I'm going to Dragon Con again! So be prepared for some costume goodness again this year. Work Outfit: Silver Top, Handmade Red Floral Skirt, and Silver Sandals

Image
There's something about mixing cool and warm tones that's unexpected and interesting. I enjoy doing it with my makeup, but I decided to try it with my clothes this time! This silver shirt was originally bought as part of an interview outfit but it's versatile enough to wear any time. I paired it with a handmade pleated skirt speckled with orange-y red floral.  These pictures were taken around my new apartment. I'm still trying to figure out some go-to places to take pictures where there aren't ten thousand people staring. It's very awkward taking outfit pictures with a ton of people around, but I'm in the city now so I guess I'll have to get used to it! It's been crappy outside pretty much every other day since I moved too, so there have been even fewer days I could take pictures. I'll get my crap together soon and figure everything out. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic weekend. I'm definitely excited it's Friday! ...

Kelly Green 60s Sweater, Colorful Vintage Floral Skirt, Tan Tassel Loafers, & a Big Blue Hair Bow

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's another outfit featuring the color green for you. I guess I'm on a green kick lately! I wore this outfit a couple weeks back on a pretty lazy day. The temperature here has been up and down so bare legs were just fine that day. I hadn't worn my 60's vintage sweater this winter yet, so I figured I better get on that since it just keeps getting warmer here. This skirt will be getting more wear in the upcoming months too. It's one of my favorite thrift finds because the colors in the pattern are so pretty. There's so much color in this outfit. I love it! You guys know I'm not afraid of color. At least the shoes were a neutral! They're new. I keep acquiring more and more shoes with nowhere to put them. It's a problem. Also how about this giant hair bow? I'm feeling it. And now I'm just rambling. I'll stop so you can look at the pictures. sweater, skirt: thrifted vintage | shoes: rack room shoes | head...

Sky Blue 50s Sweater & a Bold Floral Skirt

Image
It's Friday! I wore this colorful floral skirt and blue 50s sweater to class yesterday. I'd brought this outfit home over spring break with every intention of wearing it, but that never happened because it was pretty cool outside that week. I figured yesterday was the perfect day to wear it since it wasn't too hot for the knit top yet.  I don't get a ton of use out of this sweater because it's rarely a moderate temperature in Georgia, but it's still a great piece to have in my closet. I won it on a Paraders Vintage giveaway a year or so ago. You can't beat this pretty sky blue color! vintage sweater: baar & beards - paraders vintage | skirt: homemade by mom | shoes: self esteem - shoe carnival | necklace - gift Jeanie and I were going to learn a bit of sewing from Mom a couple summers back, but that didn't end up happening so Mom just made the skirts for us. That means the execution was about 1000x better than anything I could ...

Purple Cashmere Sweater, Floral Skirt, & a Satchel Purse

Image
This sweater might be the softest, most comfortable thing in my closet. The cashmere feels like pure luxury. It was definitely a great thrift find! I wanted to get a couple more wears out of it before the heat really settles in, so here it is with a floral skirt I've had for a few years and a satchel bag I thrifted a couple summers ago. Now that I think about it, I got both the sweater and the purse at my favorite thrift store I go to when we visit Illinois. I always find the best stuff there! sweater: ann taylor - thrifted | skirt: delia's | satchel purse: thrifted | tights: kmart | boots: city classified - traffic | earrings: great grandma collection I have so much school work to do this weekend! All I really want to do is relive childhood television through Netflix though. Have you seen all the Cartoon Network shows they just added? Plus all of the Nickelodeon ones that were already on there. It's a pretty epic collection of nostalgia. Jeanie and I...

A Jeanie St. Patrick's Day Outfit

Image
As promised, there's a new Jeanie outfit post today! She paired a green t-shirt with a colorful floral skirt and her new wedge boots. She was towering over me in our pictures together! Jeanie is already a couple inches taller than me so if we're not both wearing heels there's quite a difference. nail polish: o.p.i. - my vampire is buff & china glaze - graffiti glitter I hope you're all having a nice Tuesday. I get to sleep in a little bit today because my first class got canceled. Unfortunately, I have a paper to work on this week and need to get started on that asap. Can grad school be over yet? Happy Tuesday!

Super Freak

Image
I wore this outfit a little while back. I really liked the polka dots mixed with my floral print skirt. Apparently I looked a bit too freaky for some of the annoying people on campus, though. When I walked by this couple (who were dressed in the usual athletic-wear attire of UGA students) the guy started singing "super freak" at me. Seriously. What is wrong with people? I asked Matt if I really looked weird and he said it was a pretty normal outfit. When he says it's normal, I believe him. In other news, Woooooo Spring Break! I'm in Illinois whooping it up. top: thrifted skirt: target cardigan, shoes, bow: forever 21 Now that I'm on break I can finally make an attempt to catch up on school work and reading blogs and all that fun stuff. I wish spring break was more than just a week though.  Happy Sunday!
