A Trip to Georgia Aquarium: Wearing Floral Pants and a Leather Jacket

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Jeanie and I took a trip over to Georgia Aquarium earlier this month because I had some free tickets leftover from my internship. I enjoy wandering around the Aquarium, especially since I feel like I have plenty of interesting facts about the animals to share with whoever happens to accompany me. I really did learn a lot while I worked there even though I spent a lot of time in an office! I made sure Jeanie and I took some fun pictures with the dolphin statues out front. You can see a few of my favorite animal shots I took too. Since it was a nice cool spring day I wore my floral pants from H&M and an olive green v-neck sweater. These bronze shoes are incredibly comfortable so I thought they'd be a good choice for walking around all day. I wish I had a close-up picture because I added a sand dollar necklace in honor of being at the Aquarium! Once we were done looking at all the animals we walked down the street and found a Korean deli. It was basical...

Jeanie Outfits: 2014 Holiday Style

Image
Happy Wednesday! Even though the holiday season is over, I have pictures of two of my sister Jeanie's Christmas party looks to share with you. She humors me by occasionally letting me take pictures of her outfits when we're together. She's a good sport and obviously has great fashion sense. I'm not 100% sure where all her clothes are from, but I do know that the yellow dress was something I bought online from Oasap that didn't fit me right. So I gave it to Jeanie! The shoes she's wearing with the yellow dress are from Target, I think. You can see more of my sister's outfits by clicking here ! Those posts used to be much more frequent because we were at school together. I miss those days. I hope you like seeing Jeanie's outfits as much as I enjoy sharing them with you!  I wish I had more to talk about but my life is seriously boring. I'm genuinely sorry if my blog bores you too, but I do still get dressed these days and therefore that...

A Jeanie Outfit: Fall Leaf and Fox Print Shift Dress with a Burgundy Cardigan

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone! I nearly forgot I took these pictures of my sister Jeanie's Thanksgiving outfit. I figured I better post them while it's still 2014! She's wearing her handmade fox and fall leaf print shift dress here. It's the same pattern as my mushroom print dress with a few changes in the details. Hers has a peter pan collar and little buttons while my dress has a big yellow bow on the front. It was made at the same time as my dress while we were attempting to learn to sew over the summer. Mostly I learned that patterns are difficult to understand when a ton of adjustments for size have to be made. Anyway, she was saving this dress for fall even though it's a summery material. She paired it with a maroon cardigan, sparkly belt, and some neat cutout flats. It made for a very cute fall outfit! dress: handmade | cardigan: forever 21? I'm not ready to give up fall color schemes even though it's technically winter. I'm never ready to ...

A Jeanie Outfit: Teal Chevron Dress, Gold Skinny Belt, & Studded Black Heels

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you're having a nice day so far. It's time for another Jeanie outfit here on the blog! This is what she wore to our uncle's wedding. This teal chevron print dress is great because it can be dressed up or down. She wore some super cool studded heels and added a gold belt to make it fancier. Plus she wore one of our mom's bow pins as a hair pin - something I've been doing lately with my own pins/brooches/whatever-you-prefer-to-call-thems. It's a creative idea to get more use out of those pins you may have laying around! sorry I'm not sure of the outfit details this time! The fancy outfits and snowy backgrounds are over for now! Did you guys have a good weekend? I survived taking my comprehensive exams and spent the rest of the weekend walking around Athens with Matt. We saw Muppets Most Wanted  (which was awesome) and took in a free eco-film at Cine downtown. Cine is great because it's affordable and they h...

A Jeanie Holiday Outfit: Vintage Wool Coat, Green Peplum Dress, & Floral Tights

Image
Merry Christmas! Jeanie told me I should title this post "Jeanie Can't Make Normal Faces" but I picked the pictures with her making relatively normal faces except for one. This is the outfit she wore when I wore my leopard print coat and black lace dress. This vintage wool coat was one of our great grandma's too and now my sister gets to wear it! She said it's really warm. Plus it has that cool striped lining on the inside so you can tell it's fancy. Underneath the coat she wore a green peplum dress from Modcloth and some really cool floral tights. We found those shoes at Target for $6 the other day too. They were only left in her size so she had to get them! coat: vintage - great grandma's | dress: modcloth | tights: forever 21 | shoes: target And then we have the picture with her making a face. She said it's a model face so we'll go with that, but I personally think it's leaning more toward Grumpy Cat. I do have ran...

A Jeanie Outfit: Flannel Shirt, Navy Skater Skirt, Mustard Scarf, & Dark Red Tights

Image
Happy Saturday! Here's an outfit Jeanie wore the other day. After I asked her where all the pieces were from I remembered that I bought her the flannel shirt and mustard yellow scarf for Christmas last year. So hooray for presents that are actually being used! I really liked how all the colors in this outfit looked together. The yellow scarf picks up the yellow in the shirt really nicely and those tights are a great dark red. Plus she looks all nice and cozy in the snow! In real life we were cold taking these pictures which is probably evident in the first picture because she's hiding her hands inside her shirt. (And I definitely didn't even realize that until I had these pictures all resized and everything. Oh well!) shirt: target | skirt: forever 21 | boots: modcloth | tights: target | scarf: forever 21 Yay Jeanie! I'm glad she humors me by letting me take her outfit pictures and having her take mine while we're up here visiting. Have a great ...

Sister Style: Business Casual Outfits and Many Silly Poses

Image
These pictures are from a couple weeks back when Jeanie and I went to a career fair thing at school. We were told to be business casual so this is what we came up with on short notice. Luckily I have a couple thrifted wool pencil skirts hanging around so those are plenty appropriate. I'd decided we needed to take some lovely pictures together that day, so these are mostly us goofing around. Sometimes outfit pictures need to be funny. Hopefully these pictures will brighten your day a little!  on Jeanie : top, jeans: forever 21 | shoes: thrifted on me : sweater: forever 21 | button down top: delia's | skirt: pendleton petite - thrifted | tights: target | shoes: croft & barrow - kohl's | pin: thrifted Then we both loved and fought with the tripod: Happy Friday!

A Jeanie Outfit: Green Plaid Sweater & Black High-Waisted Jeans

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's a casual outfit from Jeanie today. I really love this green plaid cardigan Jeanie thrifted. It's very Cosby Cool. It also reminds me of the print on Scotch Tape. I wish I had bought a pair of these black high-waisted jeans from Forever 21 too. This is a great outfit for a cool fall day! cardigan: thrifted | jeans: forever 21 | boots: thrifted Are you prepared for another wonderful pose? Here it is: I hope you guys are having a nice week so far!
