Outfit: Black Denim Zip Up Skirt with Quirky Pink T-shirt

Image
top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.  I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! Sorry you can't really see it in the full body picture, but you can see it in a picture Matt took of me in the hotel room.  So how have...

Work Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Neck Top and Black Zipper Detail Pencil Skirt

Image
It's been a while since I shared a work outfit with you but here's a pretty fun one featuring a flamingo print shirt. I was in the midst of preparing for our vacation in Las Vegas so the flamingos were reflective of that! This shirt from Shein isn't the best quality but the print is really cute and it looked good with my stretchy Forever 21 pencil skirt. I always feel like bodycon stuff looks so much better on me in real life than in pictures but oh well! I'm posting these anyway. Some of that may stem from the fact that I don't have a classic hourglass shape. My hips are very narrow and today I learned I have a trending body part: hip dips ! (Where there's an indentation where your hips meet your thighs .) Apparently that's something I'm supposed to reclaim and embrace. I'm pretty sure my sister and I just called them anti-hips but it is kind of nice to know it's a semi-normal thing! There'll be another weird body thing trending in a...

Outfit: Dinosaur Print T-shirt, Black Ruffled Pinafore, and Silver Platforms

Image
Long time no blog but I have a fun outfit to share with you today. Both the dinosaur print t-shirt and ruffled pinafore here are new purchases and I couldn't wait to wear them together. The two pieces should be pretty versatile and remixable too though. It was too hard to resist this dinosaur print t-shirt last time I was wandering through Forever 21. It's so perfect and just subtle enough to wear in a variety of situations. You might not even notice they're dinosaurs until you get up close! The pinafore dress was an H&M clearance find. Just $10! Can't beat that. I'll be able to wear it year round with various tops underneath - and probably on its own too. The only negative thing is that it seems to wrinkle super easily. Oh well!  My silver platform heels were the final touch to this outfit. They feel super Spice Girls-tastic to me and I'm definitely on board with that. They're so delightfully shiny too. I just need to figure out more outfits...

Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Blouse and Light Green Scalloped Shorts

Image
It's time for a super summery outfit here on the blog so here's this one! I've actually worn this flamingo print top from Shein a couple different ways but hadn't photographed it yet. This may be my favorite way I've worn it, paired with my light green scalloped shorts from Forever 21 and a pair of clear, studded sandals from Boohoo. It looks pretty cool with my lime green cardigan too, though... This top has such a cute print and was incredibly inexpensive but you can definitely tell it's cheaply made. The thing that bothers me most is the darts on the bust aren't in the right place. It's fine for what it is though. I've had some nice pieces from those cheapy online shops like Shein, but you always have the possibility that something will be off in the clothes you buy from them. I've been covering the weirdly placed darts with cardigans most time I wear this, but this time it was just too hot for that. It's not too noticeable, I h...

Outfit: White Mock Neck Top, Colorful Star Trek Skirt, and White Sandals

Image
This pleated Star Trek skirt may be my favorite skirt in my closet. It's both super colorful - so it goes with a billion different tops - and geeky. Though I'm a bigger fan of Star Trek: TNG, I do enjoy original Star Trek too! This skirt is part of a matching set I wore to Dragon Con last year. My mom made it for me so it's one-of-a-kind. I'm going to need to wear the pieces together again before it's an inappropriate season to wear a crop top with a cutout in the front. (The temperature here is fine for crop tops well into October most of the time though!) Anyway, I actually wore this to work on one of our casual days. I paired the skirt with my new white mock turtleneck top and a pair of comfortable white sandals. I usually don't wear a whole lot of white, but I loved how the white top and sandals looked against the bold skirt. What do you think? (I must just be really really happy about my Star Trek skirt. This is how it makes me feel.) ski...

Outfit: Mint Green Satchel, Donut Print Bodysuit, and White High Waisted Jeans

Image
I wore this pastel-colored outfit over the weekend because I probably shouldn't wear donut print to work (though it's not out of the question). I don't own a lot of pastel colors so when I wear them I have the urge to find all the pastel things I own and put them together. Does anyone else do that? Modcloth sent me this awesome mint green Brit-Stitch satchel bag and the first thing I thought to pair with it was my donut print bodysuit. The green frosted donut nearly perfectly matches this purse! Then I added some very 80s-looking white jeans with my blue wedges and some white sunglasses.  bodysuit: forever 21 | jeans: c/o boohoo | shoes: xappeal - shoe carnival | sunglasses: walmart | have style, will travel bag in mint - c/o modcloth This purse Modcloth sent me is so high quality I'm in love. It's entirely leather and feels like it won't fall apart after using it a few months. This was a bit of a surprise collaboration to me too! I contribu...

Outfit: Food Pop Art Novelty Print Dress, Purple Cardigan, and Black Sandals

Image
I bought this amazingly fun Good Enough to Eat dress from Modcloth a while back but had to wait to wear it because the sleeves had to be taken up! I'm kind of in love with it. For its debut I wore it while apartment hunting in Atlanta. Of course I ended up a little sunburned from walking around in the sun. Except my face because my lotion has sunscreen in it! (Small victories.) Anyway, I kept it simple with a purple cardigan - that you may have seen a couple posts ago in a work outfit - and my comfy black fisherman sandal-like heels. I want to wear this dress again as soon as I can but I haven't yet figured out if I can get away with it at work. Maybe on a casual day... good enough to eat dress : modcloth | cardigan: forever 21 | sandals: korks - shoe carnival I found this graffiti covered underpass surrounding a part of the Atlanta BeltLine and knew it'd be a perfect background for this dress. Matt kindly snapped a couple pictures while people walked alo...

Outfit: Handmade Martini Print Dress, Mint Green Tights, and Purple T-strap Heels

Image
Happy Friday! I thought I'd share an extra fun outfit with you since the weekend is upon us. I wore the martini print dress Mom made for me for Matt's birthday last week. I also wore this dress in Las Vegas for my sister's birthday so I guess it's just becoming the birthday celebration dress! Since it's quickly getting warm here, I wanted to wear this dress with some colorful tights before it's too late, so I went with this mint green pair I snagged from the kids' section at Target. The color played off the print of the dress really well. Then I added purple shoes because why not? I thought it was a perfect outfit for going out for birthday dinner and drinks. (Even though I didn't have any martinis...) dress: handmade | tights: target | shoes: xappeal - rack room shoes? | cardigan: old navy I'm kind of sad it's getting so warm here already because I enjoy being able to remix my dresses with tights and layers. I've had plenty of o...

Flock Together Outfit: Girly Skeleton Print Dress

Image
Today I blogged another outfit with this super cool skeletal anatomy print dress over on Flock Together ! Jessica has quite an epic collection of dresses and I'm so happy she let me borrow this one. I styled this dress earlier this month with some polka dot tights and a leather jacket , but I'm not sure which look I like better. What do you think? You can hop on over to Flock Together to see my post (including plenty of pictures of this dress) by clicking the picture below. See you there! P.S. Did you guys watch the series finale of Parks and Recreation? So many feels! I'm sad it's over. I always thought Ron Swanson was my spirit animal but I think every single character in that show combines to create my ultimate spirit animal. Like a Ron + Leslie + April + Andy + Ben + bits of everyone combination. Good thing there's Netflix to rewatch! Anyway, I hope you all are having a fantastic week! Farewell!

Outfit: Brown Corduroy Shorts and a Ruffle Sleeve Fox Print Top

Image
It's the fox print shirt again! When I said I can't stop wearing this shirt, it was the truth. The neutral-colored print makes it super versatile and I love the ruffled sleeve detail on it. I figured I'd break out one of my colorful beaded necklaces to play off the colors in the top's print. (I've been sorely neglecting my pile of beaded necklaces lately so I'm trying to remember to wear them!) Anyway, the rest of this outfit was a comfy combination of my brown corduroy shorts and cushy shoes. top: boohoo | shorts, necklace: forever 21 | shoes: korks - shoe carnival Sorry for the weird posting schedule last week. Everything got out of whack with traveling on Monday and my birthday on Tuesday. I'm back to posting normally today! Hooray! I have a bit of catching up to do reading your blogs too. I'm excited to work on that this week. Have a fantastic start to your week!

Birthday Outfit: Mushroom Print Dress, Red Tights, & Bronze Shoes

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! I figured I should show you my birthday outfit since that was on Tuesday and therefore still relevant. I didn't really have a plan for a birthday outfit this year but I knew I wanted to wear one of my handmade items. This mushroom print dress hadn't been styled with tights yet so that's what I ended up throwing on. I enjoy the interesting mix of the olive green dress and red tights. It didn't feel like Christmas because of the addition of oranges and yellows in the print and the fact that it's a mushroom print. Mushrooms don't tend to convey images of holiday times. But anyway, this turned out to be a very "me" look. It should be since it was my birthday! I wore a pair of cool red 80s earrings and my comfy bronze sandals since they apparently look good with everything I own. What do you think of my birthday look? dress: handmade | tights: kmart | shoes: korks - shoe carnival | earrings: mom's My birthday pas...
