Outfit: Black Star Print Shirt, Corduroy Shorts, and Silver Oxfords

Image
When will it be nice spring weather outside? It's been so gloomy and cold here in Georgia so I guess it's still relevant to show you a wintry almost all black outfit. I don't always wear a lot of color! I wore this for shopping and food with Matt at Ponce City Market a while back. The only new piece here is this black button down shirt with silver stars. I picked it up on sale because I figured it was just different enough while also being super wearable for work. I styled my new top with a pair of faux backseam tights, old old high waisted corduroy shorts from college, and silver oxford shoes from Target. My little western-style belt was thrifted long ago. top, shoes: target | jacket, shorts, tights: forever 21 | belt: thrifted I don't have anything super exciting to blog about here - just the odd outfit here and there, so thank you for sticking around. I've mostly been catching up on and enjoying reading lately, hanging out with my dog and husban...

Outfit: Vintage 70s Button Down and Black Zippered Mini Skirt

Image
There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Especially when there's actually ice and snow on the ground. Sps...

Outfit: Embroidered Unicorn Shirt, Gray Pleated Skirt, and Silver Shoes

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! I'm here with a new outfit to hopefully brighten the end of your week since there's a unicorn on my shirt. Yes, I'm a grown adult with a unicorn shirt but nobody has to know I'm a grown adult, right? I was out shopping for a possible engagement picture outfit and came across this embroidered unicorn shirt and couldn't let it go. Actually my sister convinced me I needed it and then I found a gray pleated skirt that exactly matched the shirt's gray ringed collar and sleeves. So it was fate that I had to buy both and wear them together. It was a weirdly warm January day when I wore this, so I styled this outfit without tights and instead went with some purple socks (to play off the unicorn, of course) and a pair of silver oxfords. It was all very comfy and a little spring-y, which is good in my book because I'm actually kind of ready for spring weather. Probably the fact that most of my winter clothes are in storage still... ...

Work Outfit: Navy Polka Dot Skirt, Purple Tie Neck Blouse, and Silver Oxfords

Image
Happy Wednesday to you! I'm happy to share another work outfit with you. I guess it's not traditional work wear but I wore it to the office. We have a pretty casual dress code. This purple top was a thrift find from a long while back. It has a kind of 70s feel to it and I love the color. The little neck tie absolutely has to be tied in a knot or it comes undone about 10,000 times a day though. I paired my purple blouse with more cool tones with my navy blue polka dot skirt and a pair of bright silver oxfords. My socks matched my top a little bit and that's a-okay with me! How has your week been going? Mine could be better but I'm hanging in there until the weekend. It's my sister's grad school graduation party and I'm looking forward to some good times. Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on in my life. Wish I could tell you a good story, but I have none to tell so please enjoy the pictures and tell me what you have planned for the wee...

Outfit: Fall-Colored Chevron Dress, Dark Green Tights, and a Red Short Sleeved Cardigan

Image
dress: modcloth | cardigan: ann taylor - thrifted | tights, shoes: forever 21 You most certainly can wear red and green without looking like Christmas threw up on you! The trick is using shades of red and green that aren't pure bright versions and instead using muted shades or jewel tones. Mixing in other colors helps too. My dress here includes red and green, but also gold, maroon, tan, and cream which draws away from the traditionally Christmas-tastic color pairing. Because of the many colors in this dress it goes with a ton of different tights and cardigan combinations too. It's one of my favorites in the fall because the colors match the trees. This time I styled it with a pair of very dark green tights, a short sleeved red cardigan I thrifted a couple years ago, and some brown high heeled oxfords that turned out to be way comfier than I remembered. I figured it was about time I showed you this super autumnal outfit before it's officially winter! What do yo...

Outfit: Galaxy Print Dress Over a Turtleneck Sweater, Herringbone Fishnets, and Silver Shoes

Image
Here it is again, the fantastic galaxy print dress Jessica of Midwest Muse let me borrow! I wore this outfit at least a month ago when it was a bit cooler outside. I layered a thrifted mock turtleneck sweater underneath and added some herringbone print tights. You may also notice that my hair bow almost perfectly matches the dress. How could I resist the urge to pair two galaxy print things together? heart and solar system dress: modcloth - borrowed from Jessica | sweater, belt: thrifted | tights: kohl's? | shoes: sam & libby - target | hair bow: handmade So this dress is definitely going on my to-buy list when it's back in my size (along with this Audrey 2 print dress at Pinup Girl Clothing.) Not that I need any more dresses. My closet is overflowing with dresses and I still want more. It's a problem. There are probably a couple that could go to Goodwill to free up some space though... Anyway, are you happy it's finally the weekend? The week...

Outfit: Navy Blue Sailor Pants, Colorful Retro Shirt, and Red Shoes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I'm excited to finally show you this ridiculously colorful shirt I picked up on clearance at Target. I swear I find the best things on clearance there. I've worn this shirt a few different ways already because I love it so much. Here I paired it with another new item to my wardrobe, these navy blue sailor pants. They're so cute! I love that I'll be able to wear them casually but also in a work environment. I just really enjoyed how this outfit turned out! top: target | pants, shoes, earrings: forever 21 | sunglasses: sam's club Unfortunately I don't have a whole lot to say to you today beyond talking about my outfit. I'm starting a new job this week and am looking forward to The Color Run this weekend though. Things are starting to happen for me so that's good! I'm just ready for my eye to heal up and everything will be going well. Plus my only "normal" pair of glasses broke yesterday so I'll be ha...

Outfit: Plaid Pleated Skirt, Blue Velvet Top, Jean Jacket, and Silver Shoes

Image
Sometimes I draw inspiration from the school uniforms I never had to wear. And by that I mean I wear this thrifted plaid skirt that I'm pretty sure was part of a child's school uniform. It fits like it was made for me and I love it. This time I paired it with a crushed velvet crop top and my jean jacket. I added silver accessories for some extra flair.  I really liked how this outfit turned out! It felt young, fun, and a little bit 90s-inspired. I always feel like I get bonus points when main parts of my outfit are thrifted too. 340 points for Hufflepuff! (Because, P.S. I'm a Hufflepuff according to Pottermore.) jean jacket: thrifted | velvet top: forever 21 | plaid skirt: thrifted | tights: forever 21 | shoes: sam & libby - target | necklace: sheinside Once again, I can't believe it's already Friday. I've hardly left the house the entire week. Just Tuesday to shop with store credit for a couple hours. Thus is the life of a job hunter. You ...

Outfit: Heart Print Sweater, Black A-line Skirt, and Silver Oxford Shoes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Since it's already the week of Valentine's Day I thought I'd start out the week with a festive look. This heart sweater was another purchase from the kids' section at Target. I bought it a couple years back but hardly wear it because, naturally, it's a little snug in the shoulders. That's what I get for buying a sweater meant for 10-to-12-year-old girls. The knit fabric makes it work though. It stretches for the boob area and is actually nice and warm despite my shoulders pulling at the seams. Luckily you can't really tell there's any fit issue. Another win for the Target kids' section! I'm glad I found this sweater again though. It was packed away with other wintry clothes from when I moved out of my apartment. It's so perfect for this time of year. This time I went along with the black and pink theme with a  black skirt with sheer detailing at the hem. The herringbone fishnets added some extra pattern and my silve...

Outfit: Pink Sweater with Houndstooth Shorts and Silver Oxford Shoes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I wore this outfit a week or two ago. I've been loving these houndstooth shorts that I just had to order from Forever 21. I'm always happy when I can keep coming up with new outfits inspired by one new piece of clothing. I love that these shorts pair nicely with every other color. This time I went with my pink sweater with the lace bow detail that I bought last winter. Pink, black, and white is another winning color combination in my book. I kept the tights simple and added some shine with my silver cutout oxford shoes I got on clearance at Target this past summer. What do you think? Are you a fan of these houndstooth shorts too? I hope so because I already have another outfit planned for them! I may even wear it today! sweater: elle - kohl's | shorts: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: sam & libby - target I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are looking forward to holiday festivities or some down time in the near future. I...
