Outfit: Futurama Tank Top, Mustard Cardigan, Corduroy Shorts, and Red Tights

Image
I don't own nearly enough Futurama clothing or accessories for it being my absolute favorite TV show of all time. So when I saw this Planet Express tank top on Look Human, I had to have it. First of all, it's super comfy and can be worn for lounging or actual leaving-the-house activities. Second, it shrunk to the perfect size after washing. You can probably tell here that the straps were too long the first time I wore it. I'm glad I threw it through the dryer before taking them up because it's an 100% perfect fit now. For its first day out I paired it with some bright colors: my mustard yellow cardigan and a pair of bold red tights. The brights were balanced out by my black corduroy shorts and a pair of patent mary jane flats from Modcloth. Just a comfortable weekend outfit and a welcome reunion with these high-waisted shorts I hadn't worn in much too long. I love getting back in my comfy high-waisted shorts that I used to wear so often back in college...

Outfit: Red Skater Skirt, Silver Sweater over a Denim Shirt, and Black Loafers

Image
This silver sweater may seem a little bit holiday-tastic for January, but I love it. I'm here to show you can rock metallic pieces after New Year's Eve! Honestly, I think this outfit would be a perfect choice for a casual Valentine's Day but it's perfectly acceptable for a regular day as well. Silver, red, and black is always a winning combination. I've worn this sweater a few times since I got it back around November, but for whatever reason it hasn't been on the blog yet. It's very versatile and the metallic threads aren't scratchy at all (which is a big bonus!) I like that it looks kind of gray from afar and then when you step closer to me it's like, "Ooo sparkly sweater!" This time I layered a studded denim shirt underneath. The studs on the shirt played off the silver sweater. Then I added my neoprene skater skirt, simple black tights, and classic patent loafers. The bow earrings were my final touch! So what do you think? Would y...

Outfit: Flannel Shirt, Maroon Leather Skirt, Thigh High Socks, and Black Loafers

Image
This was the outfit I wore to the New Pornographers concert earlier this month. I bought this maroon leather skirt at Forever 21 with a gift card from my birthday. I didn't realize just how short it was until I saw these pictures! I mean, I felt a slight breeze on my butt walking to the venue but I just assumed it was the normal kind of short skirt breeziness. My nether-regions remained covered all evening but I think this is a must-wear-with-tights kind of skirt from now on. Nevertheless, I loved how this outfit turned out. I enjoy the over-the-knee socks look that other bloggers rock so I figured it was time to pull mine out again. Plus this flannel shirt looks good with just about everything and it kept me perfectly warm while out and about in Atlanta. The concert was absolutely amazing. The New Pornographers is one of my absolute top favorite bands and this was the second time I'd seen them. They encored three times and played "Sing Me Spanish Techno" for their...

Geometric Print Blouse, a Cozy Blue Sweater, & Colorful Eyeshadow

Image
Happy Friday! I wore this outfit to class yesterday. It was pretty comfy with my newly thrifted sweater and stretchy black pants. The blouse underneath is one of my favorite thrift finds too. It's such a strange and colorful print and it's silk too! It was being neglected so far this year and I thought it would be a fun top to wear underneath a sweater.  blue sweater: ann taylor - thrifted | button-down top: robbie bee - thrifted | pants jegging things: fashion bug | patent loafers: merona - target | hair bow, sunglasses earrings: forever 21 I realize now that I may have looked slightly crazy with my leopard nails, bright eyeshadow, and colorful shirt. The classic sweater and button-down pairing toned everything down a bit though. I think it's fun to play with classic combinations and make them my own.  eyeshadow: mostly urban decay vice palette And for good measure, here's a goofy picture. There was an even better one (and by better ...

Leopard Print Blouse, Maroon Skater Skirt, & Retro Makeup

Image
Hello and happy Monday everyone! I can't believe it's already Monday. Where did the weekend go? I guess I spent most of mine at band or trying to get a good amount of rest. Too bad I roll over onto my newly pierced ear about every hour.  Anyway, I wore this on Friday. I told you I'd have one more maroon skirt outfit and here it is! I promise next time I'll wear something else. My leopard print top looked so perfect with this skirt though! Too bad I only went to see a movie in this outfit. I ended up curling my hair after these pictures were taken, but there's only instagram proof of it. Next time I curl it maybe it'll end up in the outfit pictures!  leopard print silk top: thrifted | maroon skater skirt: h&m | tights: forever 21 | patent leather flats: thrifted vintage Hey look it's my face! I was watching a bunch of pin curl tutorials on YouTube this day and everyone had pretty retro makeup on, so I had to go with the cat-eye liner an...

Polka Dot Pants, Loafers, & a Short Sleeved Red Cardigan

Image
Hello everyone! Good thing I had this outfit saved up because I've spend the whole day sick on the couch. It only makes sense to get sick on Thanksgiving break right? Of course. My 102 fever is breaking now, so I finally have the will to look at a computer screen for a few minutes. I wore this outfit on election day and an old guy at Aldi complimented me on my hat. He was wearing basically the same hat in brown, so I complimented him right back. Good to know my style is appreciated by elderly gentlemen. polka dot pants: forever 21 | top: kmart | cardigan: ann taylor loft - thrifted | shoes: target | hat: h&m | belt: thrifted | necklace: grabbed it from Matt Cacaww! Boy Scout eagle necklace. I'm pretty sure this was one of those days where I looked weird in every picture no matter what I did. So enjoy my goofy faces. I know you will. Now I'm going to catch up on reading some of your blogs! I'm just hoping my fever doesn't come bac...

Bow Tights & Pink and Purple Plaid in a Mostly Thrifted Outfit

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was mostly spent feeling overwhelmed about my phone surveys, but luckily I finished them up early on Sunday afternoon so I got to go to an Athens blogger meet up! I took only a couple pictures, but I'll probably post them tomorrow. I wore this outfit to class today. It's nearly all thrifted which always makes me feel good. Does anyone else feel like a thrifting wizard when they wear a mostly thrifted outfit? I sure do! A wizard of savings. top, skirt, shoes: thrifted | tights: forever 21 | jacket: ross dress for less | belt: old from Mom | necklace: stella & dot This skirt is one of my favorite thrifted pencil skirts. I just think it's really unique with the bright pink and purple plaid. When I bought it I must have put on a little weight in the waist because I had the outer side button moved to give me more room. Now I can wear it at its original placement though. The only thing is, the oute...

Black Lace Dress & Knee Socks for an Anniversary Outing

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I wore this black lace dress to class today and then out on my anniversary date with Matt. We don't really have a specific date for when we started dating, so we go out sometime in October after my birthday is over. So as of this month we've been dating for 5 years. That's a lot of years. I actually ditched the knee socks and put on a pair of nicer heels for dinner, but the socks kept me warm when it was cool this morning. dress, headband: forever 21 | socks, boots: target | necklace: romwe.com | belt: thrifted | earrings: from Matt Jeanie was taking these pictures so I had to make some goofy poses. Those are always the best ones though and I'm sure you don't mind. We went to The Last Resort and stuffed ourselves until we could hardly move and then came back to my place and napped because we're old people. It's love. But really, we only do this once a year and I look forward to the one night we don...

Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Image
Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give! Oh well, it looks cool. skirt, top, shoes: thrifted | tights, earrings, hair bow: forever21.com  I got to pull out my bag of long-sleeved tops and sweaters and such today. It's finally cool in the morning so the extra arm covering was welcome. Plus it was almost like Christmas getting to pull out my warm-weather-only clothes after all this time!  I always love when I real...
