Outfit: Light Blue Pinafore Dress, Red Top, and White Sandals

Image
I've had this chambray overall dress for quite a few years now, but finally had the straps taken up so I didn't have to safety pin them shorter anymore. I enjoy a good overall even if it can look a little twee. I usually get plenty of positive comments on this pinafore dress though so I guess I'm not too old to rock one.  This entire outfit takes me back to childhood because I'm pretty sure I wore a red shirt, overalls, and white shoes combination when I was a little kid. (I wish I could dig up the picture to compare.) It's a pretty solid combination if I do say so myself. So solid I wore it the other day and was very pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the outfit. What do you think? Would you/have you rocked overalls or pinafore-like things in your adulthood? top: thrifted | pinafore dress: forever 21 | shoes: boohoo On a non-outfit-related note: Can we talk for a minute about the oxford comma? I love the oxford comma. It just makes sense....

Outfit + Video: Boat Print Shirt, Yellow Pleated Skirt, & a Straw Hat

Image
Happy Friday everyone! This post is a first for this blog because it includes an outfit video ! Sometimes it's nice to see how an outfit looks in motion. Plus most of you have never seen me moving around like an actual person. I may sit a lot but I promise I move in real life. Now you have proof. So please scroll down and check out my short video and if you feel so inclined subscribe to my YouTube channel because there'll be more videos.  Anyway, this boat print shirt is one of my favorite thrift finds ever. I definitely paid less than $1 for it. It always looks good paired with red and yellow so here it is with a yellow skirt. I think I should probably try it with other colors in the future though. To me, this is a perfectly summery outfit. Nautical things always scream "summer" to me. Also this hat seems to only make appearances when it's ridiculously hot outside. shirt: liz claiborne petites - thrifted | skirt: sheinside | shoes: xhileration - targ...

Mrs. Pomeranz 50s Style Tulip Print Dress with Nude Peeptoe Heels

Image
Happy happy Friday everyone! Since graduation was last week I figured it was time to share my graduation outfit with you guys. I wore the Mrs. Pomeranz tulip print dress I won from Calivintage a while back. It was such a pretty dress I decided to save it for a special occasion. (Plus I received it right when fall was rolling around and it's not exactly a fall/winter dress.) I love the watercolor print and the perfectly matching red belt that came with it. The material feels nice and light for spring but high-quality. I got a lot of compliments on the dress throughout the day. I will say that the seam underneath my arm started coming apart and one of the loops on the buttons down the back came un-looped. They're easy fixes but were kind of disappointing when I hadn't even worn the dress more than 4 hours. The designs of these dresses are perfectly retro and gorgeous though. dress: mrs. pomeranz | shoes: xappeal - rack room shoes I'll be sharing some ot...

Psychotic State T-shirt, Mustard Cardigan, Black Shorts, Polka Dot Tights, & Red Shoes

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks back on a dreary rainy day. I had a casual birthday party to attend so I put together an outfit with this new pair of black short shorts I bought. They zip up the back and are incredibly comfortable. I enjoy a good pair of short shorts since I'm not shy about my legs whatsoever. May as well have them out while I'm young! I also wore my favorite vintage t-shirt from Dad, this Psychotic State t-shirt. It was representative of my feelings toward school and the way school was making me feel at that time. I mean, it's still stressing me out a little but it's just about done! shirt: from Dad | cardigan: thrifted | shorts: forever 21 | tights: kmart | shoes: forever 21 I hope you're all doing well this Monday. I don't have anything particularly exciting to talk about right now. I've just been getting caught up on things I've been neglecting this semester and trying to relax. I...

Corduroy Shorts, Vintage T-shirt, Knee Socks, & a Jean Jacket

Image
Happy Friday everyone! These pleated corduroy shorts are kind of like old man pants in shorts form, but they look so good with band t-shirts. I've definitely worn something similar to this before. It's such a comfy combination. This time I added my new jean jacket to the mix though! I broke out my black over-the-knee socks too because I'd forgotten how incredibly annoying knee socks are. I swear I can't take 10 steps without having to pull them up. They're definitely best for lounging around the house! t-shirt: vintage from dad | shorts: forever 21 | jacket: so... - thrifted | socks: target | shoes: forever 21 | belt: thrifted lipstick: occ lip tar - NSFW How was your week? Any fun weekend plans? Unfortunately I'm feeling under the weather and have a lot of research to do. I guess I'll be doing that all weekend. I might have to take some fun breaks to keep from going crazy though! At least I might go out to the botanical gardens today and...

Cartoon Print Top, Jean Jacket, & a Black A-Line Skirt

Image
It's already Monday again! This weekend flew by and now it's time for another week of school work. That's okay though because the weekend was good and last week had definite high points (such as Neutral Milk Hotel). Plus I now have the Allegiant  book in my possession so I'm looking forward to reading that asap. But enough talk of life and on to the outfit! I wore this to the Aaron Carter concert right before my birthday. I ditched the hat for the actual concert in order to not lose it or bother people's line-of-sight. Though thinking about me blocking people's view is kind of hilarious because I'm not even 5 feet tall. Anyway, I decided my "pow" top needed to be worn again and paired it with my thrifted jean jacket and black skater skirt. It was a fun outfit but also comfy which is a winning outfit duo. top: papaya | jean jacket: so... - thrifted (originally from kohl's) | skirt: forever 21 | wedges: y not? - shoe carnival | hat: h&...

Sailboat Shirt, Red Linen Skirt, & Red Wayfarers

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Apparently I can't stop wearing blue and red together. Sorry. I guess I'm just reflecting my new blog layout! But really. How can I not wear nautical colors? It's still super hot outside and summery so I guess I might as well embrace it as much as possible and wear all the nautical things. This sailboat print shirt is one of my favorite thrift finds ever. It almost always gets paired with a red skirt. top: liz claiborne petite collection - thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | shoes: forever 21 | sunglasses: kohl's | ring: great grandma collection Do you guys ever feel like you're working and working on tons of stuff but nothing ever gets done? That's how I feel about this blog. And school. And everything else. Maybe that's just being an adult. If so, I don't like it! I'm behind on everything! Thankfully I think I'm almost done with the blog revamp. So that'll be one thing I don't have to worry abou...

Checkerboard & Polka Dots are a Wonderful Match

Image
I wore this for dinner and grocery shopping on my first full day back in Athens. I've decided these prints are supposed to be paired together. Actually pretty much anything goes with polka dots in my book, but this is my newest experiment. I like it! The black and white prints look really good together.  You guys. These shoes are so comfortable. So I'm sorry but you'll be seeing them a lot since I actually have to walk places now that school is happening again. top: boohoo | shorts: forever 21 | sandals: solanze - shoe carnival | earrings: walmart? I've had them so long I have no idea | bow: forever 21 | belt: modcloth Matt took these pictures for me. Didn't he do a nice job? I'm teaching him well. In related news, cohabitation with Matt is going well. I'm glad we get along so nicely. I guess that makes sense since we've been dating almost 6 years. (Holy crap, has it been that long? Where is the time going?) Well, I've surv...

High Waisted Levi's Jeans, Yellow Wedges, & a Pow Tank Top

Image
Happy Monday! I can't believe another week is over already. This summer went by so quickly. Here's an outfit I wore on a day that wasn't a billion degrees outside. I really wanted to wear the Levi's I bought at Macy's a couple months back. They were such an amazing deal. There weren't any others like them around so I assume somebody bought them online, didn't like them, and returned them. I figured I might as well try them on so I'd know how a pair like this fit me even though they're a size larger than I'd usually buy. So I tried them and loved them and realized I didn't read the final markdown on the tag. They were only $20. Originally $70. Yeah. So the story ends with them coming home with me and now I have a cool pair of high-waisted dark wash Levi's jeans. jeans: levi's - macy's | top: forever 21 | shoes: merona - target | bow: euberah | belt: thrifted I officially have less than a week until I have to hea...
