Outfit: Black Denim Zip Up Skirt with Quirky Pink T-shirt

Image
top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.  I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! Sorry you can't really see it in the full body picture, but you can see it in a picture Matt took of me in the hotel room.  So how have...

Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Image
I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!  Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt. top: target | skirt: handmade | shoes: amazon I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eat...

Outfit: Elephant Print Bell Sleeved Dress with Raspberry Red Heels

Image
Happy Wednesday to you! These pictures are from a little while back and were taken right after I had my hair done so it was freshly pink and delightful. Of course now it's purple and delightful, so that's good too. This elephant print bell sleeved dress from Boohoo is one of my favorites because it's so incredibly comfortable. It isn't tight anywhere so it's great for days when I'm planning on having a food baby. Or just days when I don't want to think about what to wear. The black and white print makes it versatile and the awesomely large bell sleeves are really on trend. I've worn this dress with tons of different shoes and tights, but this time I styled it with a new pair of raspberry red heels I got on clearance at Target. (Woohoo for Target clearance!) I'm pretty sure my hair makes this outfit though and my dog Riker is a pretty great addition too, if I do say so. dress: boohoo | heels: target So how has your week been? No r...

Outfit: I'm Back in Florals!

Image
Guess who's back? Back again? Jamie's back. Tell a friend. Now you have that song stuck in your head. You're welcome. And also if you're reading this, thank you for sticking around or at least having my blog still in your blog feeder! It's been a while but I'm certainly ready to get back into blogging mode now that I'm all moved into a new apartment and am mostly unpacked and settled. I no longer have to drive 3 hours a day but work is keeping me very busy right now so I haven't quite reclaimed my normal amount of free time. dress: xhileration - target | shoes: merona - target | earrings: old hand-me-downs Now moving on to some outfit talk! Everything I'm wearing here except the earrings is relatively new. My shoes were a February Target sale buy and I've been wearing them the most out of any of my shoes lately. (Hooray for comfy shoes that go with everything!) The black floral dress was an impulse buy during my last Target ...

Outfit: Turquoise Leopard Turtleneck Dress and Black Block Heel Sandals

Image
Long time, no blog! Did I say that last time? Well I finally have a new outfit to show you! I'm always trying, but sometimes failing, to fit blogging into my ridiculous schedule. Luckily there are some changes on the horizon that may make it easier to get back into blogging! About this outfit: I picked up this super cool teal leopard mock turtleneck dress in the clearance racks at Forever 21. You really never know what you'll find in there. There was a more neutral-colored version too, but I went with a weird leopard color since I already have quite a few "normal" leopard print dresses. (Can you really ever have too many leopard dresses?) My silver tassel necklace was a Christmas gift from my Mom because I desperately needed some statement necklaces for some of the plainer dresses I've been wearing to work. Sometimes I just want to throw on a t-shirt dress - with a cool necklace - and call it a day. It's rough getting up before the sun is up! My bla...

Outfit: Striped Mock Turtleneck and Maroon Skater Skirt

Image
You guys. This is the last set of outfit pictures I have with my red hair, so please enjoy. [Edit: Nevermind. Just found another set.] I love the red but I needed a change! This outfit is also incredibly summery, but I guess that's okay with the unseasonably warm weather that's been going on in the US lately. This is the last warm weather look you'll see from me this year! I'd still wear this skirt and top in our Georgia fall with a pair of tights, a cardigan, and flat black boots. It's all about remixing for different seasons! Especially when half of my wardrobe is in a storage unit. top: c/o boohoo | skirt: h&M | earrings: target | sandals: modcloth | glasses: zenni optical Now that I've thrilled you with talk about my outfit, how is your fall going so far? Mine is getting pretty exciting/busy with the beginning of wedding planning all while the usual work stuff is going on. Matt and I even looked at a venue this weekend. It's getting real!...

Outfit: Fox Print Top with a Khaki Green Lace Skater Skirt

Image
Sometimes I buy clothes at Walmart and I'm not even ashamed. The other day I was over there looking for pieces for a Dragon Con costume and came across a bunch of lace skater skirts. I'm a fan of khaki green as a neutral-that-isn't-neutral so I just had to buy this skirt. Plus it was like $8 and an appropriate-enough length to wear to work. Win. So for its debut I paired it with my cute fox print shirt from Boohoo, which is one of my favorites because it seems to look good with everything. I enjoyed the mix of muted green with orange which you don't often see.  This is the kind of outfit I wear when I want to pretend fall is around the corner even though it most definitely is not here in Georgia. Khaki green just feels like fall to me! I know it's still August, but I'm ready for it to not be 90+ degrees outside.  top: boohoo | skirt: walmart | shoes: korks - shoe carnival | earrings: thrifted So are you having a good weekend? I've been rela...

Work Outfit: Dark Blue Lace Dress with White Strappy Sandals

Image
Happy Thursday to you! Here's another summery work outfit for you to feast your eyes upon (or something like that.) I picked up this navy blue lace dress from Goodwill on the same trip that I found the little polka dot romper I featured on here a few weeks back. It was hidden way back in the overstuffed racks between some unsightly dresses, but that's the beauty of thrifting. I sift through everything because you never know what you'll spot! This dress is likely from Modcloth too. I can't remember the exact brand because I'm too lazy to go upstairs and look at the tag, but it was definitely the same as a dress I have from Modcloth. So that's a thrifting win! I really like the low V-back and the pretty navy blue shade of this dress. Plus it fit me so comfortably. For its debut I wore it to work with a pair of white strappy sandals with chunky heels and a couple new bronze leaf hair clips. The hair clips are surprisingly difficult to pull out of my hair tho...

Outfit: Cat Print Tank Top and a Leopard Print Skater Skirt

Image
I don't wear mixed prints as much as I used to so I was pretty excited when I paired these pieces together the other day. Something about the almost geometric cat print paired with the neutral leopard print worked very well. I was also a fan of all the neutrals and bronzey goodness going on in this look. Very summery! Plus my lipstick pretty much matched the color of my sandals. (BTW it's Zebra Ultra Metallic Lip by Colourpop and is still in stock as this is being published.) It can be hard to mix up your outfits when it's hot outside so trying out different print combinations is a good way to get different looks out of your summer pieces. Plus makeup. You can always just try out a bold lip color or some ultra colorful eye shadow to change things up too. I know lighter makeup is often the thing for summer, but wearing lipstick is much lighter than wearing an extra clothing layer, after all. What do you do to change things up when it's scorching outside? ...

Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Blouse and Light Green Scalloped Shorts

Image
It's time for a super summery outfit here on the blog so here's this one! I've actually worn this flamingo print top from Shein a couple different ways but hadn't photographed it yet. This may be my favorite way I've worn it, paired with my light green scalloped shorts from Forever 21 and a pair of clear, studded sandals from Boohoo. It looks pretty cool with my lime green cardigan too, though... This top has such a cute print and was incredibly inexpensive but you can definitely tell it's cheaply made. The thing that bothers me most is the darts on the bust aren't in the right place. It's fine for what it is though. I've had some nice pieces from those cheapy online shops like Shein, but you always have the possibility that something will be off in the clothes you buy from them. I've been covering the weirdly placed darts with cardigans most time I wear this, but this time it was just too hot for that. It's not too noticeable, I h...
