Outfit: Nude Lucite Heel Boots with a Floral Blouse and Maroon Skater Skirt

Image
This was one of my favorite recent outfits. (I definitely wore this exact same thing more than once because I wanted to get a picture of it.) I'm not sure if it's because of all the matchy nude/maroon going on throughout the pieces or what, but I enjoyed it. I bought these Lucite heel nude boots for myself as a birthday gift back in October and this is probably my favorite way to wear them - with no tights and a cute skirt. I've found they work best that way since I haven't found a colored pair of tights that really looks right with them. If you have suggestions, please let me know! Anyway, I paired them with my much loved maroon skater skirt (probably one of the most-worn pieces in my wardrobe) and a floral long sleeved shirt.  skirt: h&m | top: forever 21 | shoes: steve madden - dsw SO how has your February been so far? Matt and I have been enjoying our quiet weekends at home and are looking forward to some fun outings we have planned this month. ...

Outfit: Vintage 70s Button Down and Black Zippered Mini Skirt

Image
There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Especially when there's actually ice and snow on the ground. Sps...

Outfit: Red Mini Skirt, Blue Ringer Tee and Navy Blue Clogs

Image
Red and blue is probably my favorite color combination to wear - especially in the summertime. (Have I said that here before? Probably 10,000 times by now.) And sometimes I like to be as matchy-matchy as possible, which is where this outfit came from. I wore this about a month ago but it's still warm enough to wear it here in Georgia!  Some outfit details: My mini skirt is an old old thrift find that Mom hemmed for me long ago. I need to wear it more often but it's a bit too short for the workplace! The top was a cheapo crop top I probably bought on clearance and my shoes are my new favorites from Target. I should've gotten them in all the colors but figured I'd get plenty of use out of navy blue - my favorite "non neutral neutral."  skirt: thrifted | top: forever 21 | shoes: target | necklace: new york & company I wish I had time to blog more often but time is limited when you're planning a wedding and it's less than 2 months away...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Top, and Heart Tights

Image
If you're looking at these pictures and going, "hey those look almost a year old!" then you would be correct! For whatever reason this outfit from December never ended up on the blog (but a similar look did back in March .) My hair is almost this color again right now though! Full circle. I wanted it very similar to this color and length for my wedding in November so I'm glad. I wish it was cold enough outside to wear tights, corduroy, and my leather jacket like it was in these pictures, but instead it's humid and rainy here in Georgia since it's still August. And so it shall remain until November. I really do like this combination of the dark green skirt with leopard print and tiny, almost-dots heart print. What do you think?  These pictures were taken in Illinois while cleaning out my Great Grandma's house. My sister and I were hanging around while our dad and grandpa were picking up some stuff.  Unfortunately I don't have anythin...

Outfit: Black Denim Zip Up Skirt with Quirky Pink T-shirt

Image
top, skirt: h&m | shoes: target | bag: boohoo Long time no blog...but here's one of my favorite outfits from last month's trip to Las Vegas for bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans. It was unseasonably cool for June in Las Vegas, but this mini skirt and t-shirt combo was still a perfect choice for the daytime. The pink top and black denim skirt were new purchases from H&M right before the trip. I couldn't pass up the weird print on the crop top. It has snakes, mermaids, UFOs, bananas, and more on it. So weird and so good. Plus it kind of matched my purpley hair.  I styled everything with my favorite shoes of the season - these peeptoe ones from Target - and a new ice cream shaped novelty bag I ordered from Boohoo on clearance. It was a perfect choice for times when I didn't want to carry around my big camera bag! Sorry you can't really see it in the full body picture, but you can see it in a picture Matt took of me in the hotel room.  So how have...

Work Outfit: Flamingo Print Bow Neck Top and Black Zipper Detail Pencil Skirt

Image
It's been a while since I shared a work outfit with you but here's a pretty fun one featuring a flamingo print shirt. I was in the midst of preparing for our vacation in Las Vegas so the flamingos were reflective of that! This shirt from Shein isn't the best quality but the print is really cute and it looked good with my stretchy Forever 21 pencil skirt. I always feel like bodycon stuff looks so much better on me in real life than in pictures but oh well! I'm posting these anyway. Some of that may stem from the fact that I don't have a classic hourglass shape. My hips are very narrow and today I learned I have a trending body part: hip dips ! (Where there's an indentation where your hips meet your thighs .) Apparently that's something I'm supposed to reclaim and embrace. I'm pretty sure my sister and I just called them anti-hips but it is kind of nice to know it's a semi-normal thing! There'll be another weird body thing trending in a...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Image
Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible . They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon! The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I...

Outfit: Embroidered Unicorn Shirt, Gray Pleated Skirt, and Silver Shoes

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! I'm here with a new outfit to hopefully brighten the end of your week since there's a unicorn on my shirt. Yes, I'm a grown adult with a unicorn shirt but nobody has to know I'm a grown adult, right? I was out shopping for a possible engagement picture outfit and came across this embroidered unicorn shirt and couldn't let it go. Actually my sister convinced me I needed it and then I found a gray pleated skirt that exactly matched the shirt's gray ringed collar and sleeves. So it was fate that I had to buy both and wear them together. It was a weirdly warm January day when I wore this, so I styled this outfit without tights and instead went with some purple socks (to play off the unicorn, of course) and a pair of silver oxfords. It was all very comfy and a little spring-y, which is good in my book because I'm actually kind of ready for spring weather. Probably the fact that most of my winter clothes are in storage still... ...

Outfit: Striped Mock Turtleneck and Maroon Skater Skirt

Image
You guys. This is the last set of outfit pictures I have with my red hair, so please enjoy. [Edit: Nevermind. Just found another set.] I love the red but I needed a change! This outfit is also incredibly summery, but I guess that's okay with the unseasonably warm weather that's been going on in the US lately. This is the last warm weather look you'll see from me this year! I'd still wear this skirt and top in our Georgia fall with a pair of tights, a cardigan, and flat black boots. It's all about remixing for different seasons! Especially when half of my wardrobe is in a storage unit. top: c/o boohoo | skirt: h&M | earrings: target | sandals: modcloth | glasses: zenni optical Now that I've thrilled you with talk about my outfit, how is your fall going so far? Mine is getting pretty exciting/busy with the beginning of wedding planning all while the usual work stuff is going on. Matt and I even looked at a venue this weekend. It's getting real!...

Work Outfit: Navy Polka Dot Skirt, Purple Tie Neck Blouse, and Silver Oxfords

Image
Happy Wednesday to you! I'm happy to share another work outfit with you. I guess it's not traditional work wear but I wore it to the office. We have a pretty casual dress code. This purple top was a thrift find from a long while back. It has a kind of 70s feel to it and I love the color. The little neck tie absolutely has to be tied in a knot or it comes undone about 10,000 times a day though. I paired my purple blouse with more cool tones with my navy blue polka dot skirt and a pair of bright silver oxfords. My socks matched my top a little bit and that's a-okay with me! How has your week been going? Mine could be better but I'm hanging in there until the weekend. It's my sister's grad school graduation party and I'm looking forward to some good times. Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on in my life. Wish I could tell you a good story, but I have none to tell so please enjoy the pictures and tell me what you have planned for the wee...
