Outfit: Red Mini Skirt, Blue Ringer Tee and Navy Blue Clogs

Image
Red and blue is probably my favorite color combination to wear - especially in the summertime. (Have I said that here before? Probably 10,000 times by now.) And sometimes I like to be as matchy-matchy as possible, which is where this outfit came from. I wore this about a month ago but it's still warm enough to wear it here in Georgia!  Some outfit details: My mini skirt is an old old thrift find that Mom hemmed for me long ago. I need to wear it more often but it's a bit too short for the workplace! The top was a cheapo crop top I probably bought on clearance and my shoes are my new favorites from Target. I should've gotten them in all the colors but figured I'd get plenty of use out of navy blue - my favorite "non neutral neutral."  skirt: thrifted | top: forever 21 | shoes: target | necklace: new york & company I wish I had time to blog more often but time is limited when you're planning a wedding and it's less than 2 months away...

Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Top, and Heart Tights

Image
If you're looking at these pictures and going, "hey those look almost a year old!" then you would be correct! For whatever reason this outfit from December never ended up on the blog (but a similar look did back in March .) My hair is almost this color again right now though! Full circle. I wanted it very similar to this color and length for my wedding in November so I'm glad. I wish it was cold enough outside to wear tights, corduroy, and my leather jacket like it was in these pictures, but instead it's humid and rainy here in Georgia since it's still August. And so it shall remain until November. I really do like this combination of the dark green skirt with leopard print and tiny, almost-dots heart print. What do you think?  These pictures were taken in Illinois while cleaning out my Great Grandma's house. My sister and I were hanging around while our dad and grandpa were picking up some stuff.  Unfortunately I don't have anythin...

Outfit: Turquoise Leopard Turtleneck Dress and Black Block Heel Sandals

Image
Long time, no blog! Did I say that last time? Well I finally have a new outfit to show you! I'm always trying, but sometimes failing, to fit blogging into my ridiculous schedule. Luckily there are some changes on the horizon that may make it easier to get back into blogging! About this outfit: I picked up this super cool teal leopard mock turtleneck dress in the clearance racks at Forever 21. You really never know what you'll find in there. There was a more neutral-colored version too, but I went with a weird leopard color since I already have quite a few "normal" leopard print dresses. (Can you really ever have too many leopard dresses?) My silver tassel necklace was a Christmas gift from my Mom because I desperately needed some statement necklaces for some of the plainer dresses I've been wearing to work. Sometimes I just want to throw on a t-shirt dress - with a cool necklace - and call it a day. It's rough getting up before the sun is up! My bla...

Outfit: Wide Legged Jeans with a Striped Top and Little Mermaid Funko Pop Necklace

Image
Being under 5 feet tall can make finding certain clothes nearly impossible. Take bell bottom jeans for example. People say, "Oh you can hem them!" Wrong. Once hemmed, the flared awesomeness - the part that makes them "bell," disappears. This means we vertically challenged have to find jeans actually made for our non-Amazonian legs. This is a challenge. Since I've been seeing more bell bottoms and wide-legged jeans online, I didn't hesitate to try on the pair I noticed at Target a couple months ago. They were marked with an "R" for regular length which is a glorious mark in my mind because that usually means that an "S" for short exists somewhere in the universe. Luckily I was right as I tried on the regular length and they were much, much too long for me. I immediately went online, found the short version ( they're still online !), and ordered them. Here they are in their wide-legged splendor! I've actually been wearing t...

Work Outfit: Blue Floral Curved Hem Shift Dress with Nude Peeptoe Heels

Image
This vibrant blue floral shift dress is a new purchase from Boohoo that I picked up during a 50% off sale. When it got here I was worried it was way too loose but it ended up looking great once styled. Plus a loose fit is a comfy change from my usual fit and flare silhouette. Sometimes it's nice to change things up and try new shapes! The more I look at the pictures of this outfit, the more I want to wear it immediately again.  How should I style this dress next time? I'm sure it could be belted but the loose shift style is something I'm feeling lately. Maybe black tights and boots when it cools down? dress: boohoo | shoes: x-appeal - rack room shoes | necklace: forever 21 How has your weekend been? We're hanging out watching the Olympics right now and spent a good portion of today working on planning costumes for Dragon Con. Yesterday was my sister's birthday so we went to a brewery and had a delicious dinner afterward. If you follow me on Insta...

Work Outfit: Polka Dot Shift Dress, Teal Cardigan, and a Tree Branch Statement Necklace

Image
Happy happy Monday! Well, it might not be that happy but we can pretend. I wore this polka dot shift dress to work over a month ago and am just now getting to posting it. This is a dress I've had since high school and it's still around. I think it was one of my fancier pieces back in the days of low rise skinny jeans and graphic t-shirts, and it happened to stick around all these years. It is a classic piece, after all (and it does make me happy that I'm the same size I was in high school.) My little polka dot dress turned out to be a great work piece paired with a colorful cardigan and some cute shoes. I added a statement necklace Happiness Boutique sent me over the summer for some extra interest.  dress: forever 21 | cardigan: delia's | shoes: steve madden - shoe carnival | necklace: c/o happiness boutique Over the weekend I mostly caught up with all of your blogs and it made me so happy. I've been behind most of the year and especially since we got ...

Outfit: Tree Branch Statement Necklace, Green Scallop Hem Shorts, and a Light Blue Textured Top

Image
Be prepared for a very spring-y outfit ahead! First I'm going to tell you all about this fantastic tree branch necklace the kind people at Happiness Boutique sent me. They contacted me to pick out a statement necklace to style, so of course I picked the most unique one I saw: this pearl detailed tree branch necklace. (Unfortunately they've sold out of this one, but there's a pair of matching earrings .)  Happiness Boutique is based in Germany and curates trendy yet classic pieces. They have an awesome selection of necklaces and earrings at affordable prices and with free international shipping. It was fun looking through their pieces because I could imagine easily styling so many of them. Plus the store's theme around positivity and happiness is incredibly cute. Check them out next time you need an exciting piece of jewelry that won't break the bank! (They have a reward program too for those of you who buy a lot of jewelry!) I wore this super pastel o...

Turtleneck Sweater, Maroon Skater Skirt, Yellow Tights, & Boston Terrier Flats

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I wore this outfit on a trip to the library. Can I profess my love of the public library right now? Because I seriously love it. Walking out of there with free books - as many as I can read in a 3 week time frame - is glorious. Plus ours has online audio-books and e-books now so I can listen to audio-books during my commute. Hooray libraries! But anyway, this is one of my newly thrifted mock turtleneck sweaters. It's really cozy and a versatile oatmeal shade. I paired it with my trusty maroon skater skirt and a pair of bright yellow tights. My two Boston Terrier items are on display again here too. I seriously can't stop wearing them together. It's a problem. I also wore an Avengers print hair bow because why not? sweater: thrifted | skirt: h&m | tights: forever 21 | bow: handmade | necklace: forever 21 | shoes: delia"s Can you believe it's the last day of January already? Time is flying by! I hope you guys all had a ...

Blue Patterned Trousers, Polka Dot Blouse, Boston Terrier Flats, & a Galaxy Bow

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Here's an outfit I've already worn twice because I love it so much. I picked up these blue patterned trousers from Target over winter break. They were on clearance for something around $7 and fit so well that I had to buy them! I really love this shade of blue and I like that the pattern is subtle enough to easily pair with other prints while still being more interesting than solid blue trousers.  This time I wore them with my polka dot blouse, Boston Terrier flats and necklace, and a galaxy print hair bow. It was only appropriate to wear two Boston Terrier items, right? Jeanie bought me both of them for Christmas and they're kind of made to be worn together, I think. blouse: thrifted | pants: mossimo - target | flats: delia's - gift | necklace: forever 21 - gift | bow - handmade I would seriously wear a version of this outfit to my internship but I'm still waiting on my logo cardigans to come in, so I can't. We have to...

Striped Shirt, Red Wool Skirt, Silver Beaded Necklace, & Boston Terrier Flats

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I really loved this outfit. It was kind of simple with the main pieces, but the details made it more unique. A striped t-shirt looks good with almost everything. I'm glad to have snatched up this long sleeved one from Forever 21 during a sale. I wore it with my trusty red wool skirt and added some fishnet-ish tights and my new Boston Terrier flats Jeanie bought me for Christmas. My Stella & Dot beaded necklace was a gift from Mom a couple years ago. It looks good with so many things but I tend to wear it during the colder months for whatever reason. So here it is, obviously out in the cold! shirt: forever 21 | skirt: thrifted | tights: kmart? | shoes: delia's - gift | necklace: stella & dot The snowy pictures I have from Illinois make me wish we got some snow here in Georgia. I love the way the sunlight reflects off the snow and bounces onto my face and the outfit. Plus it's nice and festive during this time of the year. ...
